That was last year and it feels like it’s back this time I feel it almost paralyzing and going directly for my veins in arms and legs. Tried baking soda, flea and dandruff shampoo, listerine, peroxide , apple cider vinegar , cayenne pepper (Burns like a B*tch) aloe Vera, and cloves but I want them gone. Is it an actual possibility to remove this completely or just subdue....? Would like to hear your thoughts.
For almost a year now around my scalp has been feeling gummy and greasy. I don't dye my hair, or take medication. I eat healthy and work out often. I asked my dermotolgist he did not know. I have tried numerous shampoo's. Sulfate free ect. Washing my hair with Listerine. Nothing seems to do the trick. I tried putting color in it, and cutting it and that didn't help. I AM SO FRUSTRATED and desperate! Please let me know any solutions to fix it for once and for all!!! Please!!!!
I do continue to use the SUAVE Clarifying Shampoo about once a week, but otherwise am able to use my regular shampoos and conditioners I always have used and have not needed to go back to using the Listerine again.
Thank you for posting up your solution! What a lifesaver, as my hair was DISGUSTING by mid-day every single day, out of the blue, back in April. Have never had any problem like this before, am 39 years old, no change in medications, no history of oily hair.
i read several other posts on this topic as I too fit the bill... 4 days ago I got a painful swollen gland in my neck, i have not been sick w/ a cold or anything that would cause this...when i google'd for the symptons and saw this forum i couldn't believe it because I too use Listerine Pre Brush Whitening. I have discontinued use of it as of 4 days ago and my swollen gland has not changed.
Not sure if this is a coincedence but I have never had a swollen gland in my neck before!
Hi Everyone, around a month ago my alt was 176 and going to start my treatment next week. Now a days i feel very very itchy specially on face and head. all of a sudden i have a whole lot of dandruff all over my head. i even used anti dandruff shampoo everyday but didn't help. is this because of Hep c? i have genotype 3. Please englighten me.
then i started to develop light dandruff (white, very little grains) and seem not to manage to get it under control with normal dandruff shampoos etc. while googling dandruff i read that dandruff (but i assume heavy) can be a sign of hiv infection. then i started reading about scary high aids rates in portugal. especially as most new infections here come from hetero sexual encounters.
I do not think I have any cut in my mouth, only a bit of gingivitis, which does not bleed. I used Listerine again after our encounter, and then I washed my mouth with alcohol 70% (as a gel) for hand desinfection... this about 5 minutes of our last kiss, and about 40 minutes our kisses started.
Do I have any risk? Should I test for HIV? If yes, when?

For dandruff, eat a healthy diet. You can also take vit B6 and vit A and E which are good for hair and skin. Try medicated shampoos for dandruff. There are a number of over-the-counter shampoos available that can help. The most effective ingredients -- antimicrobials -- to look for are zinc pyridinethione, selenium sulfide, sulfur and ketoconazole (also available by prescription). If your hair is colored, don't use products with selenium sulfide or sulfur.
Hi, wondering if anyone has an answer for me. I used to get dandruff on and off and I used head & shoulders or others like it and it worked fine. This winter, however, my scalp has gotten extremly dry and itchy and flaky, and sore from all the scratching. I tried a bunch of more heavy duty OTC shampoos for dandruff, but none worked. I used an essential oils scalp massage and that worked for a bit. Now it is out of control and driving me crazy.
Honestly i do not know when it started but i am always using my finger to rub on my scalp looking for something to scratch off , i have a serious problem with dandruff it comes and goes and sometimes grow over night.
When i have it bad i notice i have red spots or bumps on my scalp and i need help because i am very scared this might be some sort of disease ... can someone tell me what are these small red spots that appear ?
Early last week I had one canker sore in my mouth, I used Listerine (both with and without alcohol) as it reduces the pain of the sore. I used it rather compulsively, like 7-8 times a day. Later last week, I notice that the white coating at the back of the tongue is thick. I can scrap it off and it looks like old milk.
Is it because of the use of Listerine that somehow change the environment in mouth? Is it because of any other disease?
I have stopped Listerine use now.
He will either offer you the medicated shampoo for lice, or make another suggestion. You might have him wash his beard with Listerine; my mother-in-law did that for dry scalp and dandruff and it is a refreshing rinse that will not hurt him. If neither of these work, consult a physician or dermatologist; he could have a skin condition and need to shave to be able to treat it adequately. Consult a professional if it continues.
It all started last winter with dandruff that I ignored(didnot use any antidandruff shampoos and was washing hair once a week) that turned into snow tons of dandruff and I continued to ignore it for about 4 monts (from Jan to April) During the month of March, I lost 4.5 lbs, and had a major certification exam in April, which I passed. then began the hair loss, I noticed it in the comb after showering (50-60 hairs) and when brushing (20-35 hairs).
t smoke but I have in the pass used hydrogen peroxide to as mouthwash when I had gotten a cut in the inside of my mouth and I have used Listerine Whitening MouthWash Pre-Brush Rinse which also have hydrogen peroxide but now I have heard that it can up your chance of oral cancer. I am just so afraid I was just at the dentist last week and I had him check but he said not worry that my mouth looked very healthy.
