dandruff

Avatar n tn That could be it any easily treated with a pill. Otherwise try omega fish oil supplement for dogs and a good shampoo like Allergroom or Chlorhexiderm or Hexadene. Good Luck!
Avatar m tn The vet gave me salmon oil for Akira to help with her constipation. It also has helped her chronic flaky skin on her back near the head of her tail. It comes in a squeeze bottle. The initial cost was a little on the high side, in that it costs a little over $20, but it's very little money when you consider that for a cat you only have to use 1/4 teaspoon per day, which is about two or three gentle squirts from the bottle I got. The brand is Life Line.
Avatar n tn s lost the 3 extra pounds he was carrying and his muscle tone looks wonderful. And as I said, his coat actually looks really nice and shiny. But he still has dandruff, and some days it's only a few flakes, but some days it's really, really bad! He NEVER scratches. I'm home with him all day, and he doesn't scratch or bite at himself or seem the least bit uncomfortable, and his energy levels seem normal as well. His skin doesn't seem dry, which seems weird.

Adding extra supplementation is a simple and inexpensive form of health insurance for dogs and cats. Enzyme Supplements We have seen almost miraculous transformations in animals after enzyme supplementation begins, including relief from itchiness, allergies, flea infestation, weepy eyes and ears, dry flaking skin, rashes, hair loss and hot spots.
675347 tn?1365460645 I should have memtioned that what you are seeing might not even BE dandruff, it might be dander. Dander is entirely different from dandruff, and is the result of the dog's saliva drying on their skin and fur after they lick themselves. In many cases of allergies to pets, it isn't the hair that the person is allergic to at all, it's the dander.
277836 tn?1359666174 Okay I ned help my cat has dandruff and I am pretty sure it is coming from the lack of dry air here in the house it has been very cold.. So i am sure there isnt much mositure in the air... So are their any shampoos I can get to help clear this up for a cat like at petsmart??? Also he is on strict dry food diet because his tummy cant handle can food and he makes a very unpleasant mess.. So I am thinking of adding a tablespoon of olive oil to help to..
Avatar f tn I am sorry to hear about your dogs dandruff and that's usually quite simple to clear up. Add a little extra virgin olive oil to your dogs meals and/or supplement with Essential Omega-3 Fatty Acids. You might also reduce the weekly flea baths and intermix them with organic oatmeal baths which are quite soothing. Remember for most of us, the fall season is approaching which is when dogs shed their coats to prepare for winter.
Avatar f tn It's advantage multi, he was thinking maybe it was walking dandruff but I went back to the vets again yesterday and we did a skin scraping and it's not mites or walking dandruff. Advantage multi kill many mites so were playing safe. We now have moved on thinking its a fungal infection, it's only making one pup really lose hair the other two have the itch but aren't losing near as much hair.
Avatar n tn My daughter rescued a puppy and we believe it has walking dandruff...Me and my daughter are broken out in an itchy rash...Is there a natural treatment that will get rid of this on us?
Avatar n tn This may be similar to when dogs have mange. Try shampoos like Nizoral, Denorex, or Head and Shoulders. Also look up blogs by Morgellons sufferers, they may be able to help you. Not "skeptic blogs".
Avatar m tn Hi Everyone, around a month ago my alt was 176 and going to start my treatment next week. Avatar n tn then i started to develop light dandruff (white, very little grains) and seem not to manage to get it under control with normal dandruff shampoos etc. while googling dandruff i read that dandruff (but i assume heavy) can be a sign of hiv infection. then i started reading about scary high aids rates in portugal. especially as most new infections here come from hetero sexual encounters.
Avatar f tn I have tried to give him a bath every week to clean it up (I use oatmeal shampoo) but when I thought it had cleared up I slacked off, and it turns into this brown buildup on his skin, like skin oils mixed with dandruff and dirt. It was manageable over the summer (we thought it was just allergies) but has actually gotten worse since winter came. Is this allergies to something inside, or a skin infection, or something else? What would be the best way to manage it, or treat it?
Avatar f tn Hi there! I hope someone out there can offer some insight. I have an almost 7-year-old Boston male who is a very, very picky eater. We tried every brand under the sun and the only food he would eat unfortunately was Beneful so that's what we were feeding him. On his last vet visit the vet recommended Natural Balance. I wanted to get him on something more nutritious, so I gradually switched him over to the Natural Balance limited ingredient chicken and sweet potato variety.
Avatar m tn Hello, For dandruff, eat a healthy diet. You can also take vit B6 and vit A and E which are good for hair and skin. Try medicated shampoos for dandruff. There are a number of over-the-counter shampoos available that can help. The most effective ingredients -- antimicrobials -- to look for are zinc pyridinethione, selenium sulfide, sulfur and ketoconazole (also available by prescription). If your hair is colored, don't use products with selenium sulfide or sulfur.
Avatar f tn Hi, wondering if anyone has an answer for me. I used to get dandruff on and off and I used head & shoulders or others like it and it worked fine. This winter, however, my scalp has gotten extremly dry and itchy and flaky, and sore from all the scratching. I tried a bunch of more heavy duty OTC shampoos for dandruff, but none worked. I used an essential oils scalp massage and that worked for a bit. Now it is out of control and driving me crazy.
