Avatar n tn Eat a healthy diet. You can also take vit B6 and vit A and E which are good for hair and skin. Try medicated shampoos for dandruff. There are a number of over-the-counter shampoos available that can help. The most effective ingredients -- antimicrobials -- to look for are zinc pyridinethione, selenium sulfide, sulfur and ketoconazole (also available by prescription). If your hair is colored, don't use products with selenium sulfide or sulfur.

Avatar f tn Fearing that those would leave me marks I went to dermatologist and was prescribed acne clear gel, hidrate lotion and adaferin gel. I have been using acne gel and hidrate lotion from one month my acne settled well. But from last 3 days I am getting very bad white flakes on face. My face is tight and some time applying lotion burns my face. White flakes have appeared first time on my face. I am very scared does this resembles dermatitis? I also have little bit itching on face.
Avatar f tn I keep getting acne right in my cleavage! It's awful! And I have this patch of acne on my cheek, and along my hairline. Oh, and on my legs! All over my calves! Haha. 16w+4... This kid is trying to make me ugly.
Avatar f tn I read on about.com that using a corticosteroid should only be used to reduced the redness and then use dandruff shampoo for maintenance , but like I said the dandruff shampoo is not working, it is actually making things more red and it slightly burns. Is there an alternative to Desonide? That will give me the same results and not ruin my skin later in life?

Avatar n tn t know what is happening. I have an acne history and had gone for isotretinon treatment and some oral antibiotic creams. This is not just painful but also scary.
Avatar n tn Try using t gel by neutrogena, that does sound like psorosis. T gel is very helpful, and it's not expensive I use it because I get acne on my scalp from using hair spray And it works wonders even though it is made for psorosis. It's main ingredient is coal tar so it doesn't smell pleasant but it's worth a try. Also if you had lice you'd see it crawling.

Avatar n tn Hello I have the strange problem of being unable to identify what it is that is going on with my skin. I hope to get some help. I have small bumps on my back and arms. It is not Keratosis Pilaris, or anything like it. It is not acne, as touching the bumps do not hurt like acne and they don't "break out", the bumps are just there. There is no pain, itching, or swelling associated with the bumps.
Avatar f tn It is normal to get acne on your neck, chest, or even back. I had some on the back of my neck, chest, and upper back. As for the scabs I'm not sure but try usig head and shoulders or something similar to that to see if it goes away but try not to scratch then.
Avatar f tn I have the exact same thing, my research has led me to believe it might be Pityrosporum Folliculitis. Some dandruff shampoos will help, acutane, and oral antibacterial medications. Don't jump to acutane as it's an extreme treatment that has been said to have adverse and dramatic side effects.
Avatar f tn The problems that may be related to your irregular cycles are hairloss, constipation and acne. Those that are probably NOT related are tooth/gum disease, dandruff and eye sight problems. In the west we would discuss the possibility of oral contraceptive pills for your problems. Another option might be Metformin. I hope this helps!
Avatar n tn Hello, These can be due to acne or folliculitis skin. Back and shoulder acne are quite difficult to treat compared to acne on other parts of the body. Thoroughly wash your body everyday, especially the back and shoulder part using a back brush and frequently change your bed sheet, as it is conducive for bacterial growth. Engage in a diet that is low in sugar and fat but is rich in vitamins. This prevents acne by preventing the buildup of excess oil on the skin.

Avatar n tn ve been breaking out around my hairline, across my forehead, nose and cheeks. The acne is red and very small bumps, as if it was irritaton. I thought it might be an allergic raction to a hair product or new facial cleanser but stopping use of these new things hasn't stopped the situation. I've recently started back at the gym and running and sweating a lot and a co-worker of mine said that this is probably the cause.
Avatar n tn Yes, you need to get looked at by your dermatologist since there are many creams, and ointments, and treatments that can help with your acne. there are different types of acne, some have small pimples, and others can have huge "cystic" bumps and cause scarring. There are oral meds, and topical things and your doctor will most likely want you to try something topical before moving to an oral medication.
