Avatar f tn I was recently told that even a single dose of OTC or pain killers can cause a rebound headache. I also have chronic daily headaches as well as a few migraines each week. Can the ER cocktail of Benadryl, Toradol, Zofran, Reglan, ativan ,and decadron potentially cause a rebound effect. There's some weeks, I'm in the ER 2-3 times per week . Some months, I don't go at all. At home, Ido not take anything except amlodapine and valium twice a day.
341042 tn?1244776427 also talked to me about rebound headaches, so I have tapered down my use of triptans and painkiller (I usually take Fiorinal). I was told if you don't use one type more than 3 or 4 times a week, you can usually avoid rebound headaches. I do my best to endure the "not as severe" headaches, and only take medication when necessary. I'm still taking either a triptan or an analgesic 3-4 days a week (one of each).
Avatar m tn I am an 18 year old whose migraines usually rebound with Imitrex therapy. Which of the following is recommended?
2048234 tn?1330814100 Hey scaredmommy - I don't remember how many days you have. I had rebound pain of some sort headaches included well beyond 30 days clean. I had a two week period where I really pondered living the rest of my life in pain and if I could but it did pass. I still have pain but not anywhere along the lines of those two weeks and it is manageable.
Avatar m tn does any have any experince or know how long rebound anxiety las after you quit lexapro? I felt good at first, but then latley have had some major anxiety. thank you.
Avatar n tn However, my eyes are very red from not being able to use vasoconstrictors, and I believe that I am suffering from rebound redness. Is there an average time for rebound redness to abate? Should I expect them to be red for a long time (or forever)? And what do you recommend for dealing with my red eyes right now?
Avatar m tn I have pain on my left abdomen (upper left waist to be exact), the pain is rebound tenderness. It started around December of 2009, so it’s already been with me for almost 5 month. The severity of the pain changes, from a scale of 1-10, is anywhere from 2-7.
1207048 tn?1282174304 When I saw my neuro the other day he mentioned something about rebound symptoms when I'm off the prednisone taper. I did the first round of IV steroids/prednisone for vertigo and it did not come back after (though I will get a bit if I'm overtired, just for a minute or two then it stops). This round of steroids is because of burning/stinging in my feet which moved up my right leg, causing tingling and sometimes electric shock feelings. After the 3 days of IV this was pretty much gone.
1542812 tn?1293382373 It is very possible that they are. While 11 days is wonderful, don't misunderstand, it is not a long time for your body to heal. That takes time. I know it is hard but you have to be patient while your mind and body adjust. Don't know if we talked about it, but are you involved in any sort of support group other than here? It can be helpful to take your mind off of things, for one, and to know you are not alone and to learn coping skills.
1653969 tn?1390331661 Just kind of asking for a refresher on the dynamics of rebound pain-Dominosarah and Gnarly I know you can help on this one. I have been having back pain and issues lately and kind of at a crossroads as to were to go from here.Just not sure if its rebound (how to really tell) or if I am in legitiamate pain.
Avatar n tn My story is I contracted HSV2 on the back of my left thigh in the late 1990's not sure where, but it breakout once a year during summer months one time a year. While it was annoying I didn't take anything during the late 2000's I somehow transferred it to my face (confirmed by swab). I didn't want it there so I started to take Valacyclovir it would keep breaking out every month or so I went on a daily maintenance of 500mg a day.
Avatar m tn I started on Cytomel and Hydrocortisone, but notice nothing at all, even when I quit taking them or miss them. Having everything low, except the homocysteine is of some concern for me, but I don't know how to get help. One doctor wants to start me on Testosterone (started me on Cytomel and Hydrocortisone), but I think the pituitary/hypothalmus needs to be tested/scanned as well as the thyroid, as I don't just want a bandaid.
Avatar n tn If not, why are you on T3-only med (Cytomel)? What were your labs a week ago before going on the Cytomel, and were you on any other meds then?
1070570 tn?1283436213 I was up to 125 mcg synthroid, then dropped back to 75 synthroid, then switched to 75 generic levo and added 10 mcg cytomel. That was too much cytomel, so dropped back to 5 mcg cytomel and switched to generic; then up to 88 mcg levo, staying with 5 mcg generic cytomel. Am currently on 100 mcg Tirosint and 5 mcg generic cytomel. I take the Tirosint first thing in the morning, per instructions (my day starts 3:30 am). I take my T3 med about 7-7:30 am.
Avatar f tn She told me she was 20 lbs over weights due to being hypo and was only be able to loose few lbs even with teaching many aerobic classes and eating healthy until she heard of Cytomel. She started taking 25mcg of Cytomel 4 yrs ago and noticed the fat melted quickly. She is now at her ideal weight and very fit.
Avatar f tn s fairly rare for somone to be on Cytomel only. Usually a small dose of Cytomel is added to the Synthroid, which may have to be reduced to accomodate the Cytomel. Cytomel (T3) is very fast-acting, so it has to be taken several times throughout the day if taken by itself. This leads to intra-day ups and downs in hormone levels. Do you have the results of your latest lab tests (FT3, FT4 and TSH) and their reference ranges?
765572 tn?1234697366 Can you take just Cytomel? I am on levothyroxine and feeling awful. I heard that this generic of Synthroid is actually not the same as Synthroid and that it is not as good. I heard some people have fabulous results on Armour and Cytomel. Why are Dr's so reluctant to prescribe these other meds? I heard Cytomel really helps with fatigue. All I want to do is sleep, it's awful.
Avatar f tn I thought that the generic cytomel was exactly as the brand cytomel. no difference what so ever. I thought I read this somewhere in these forums???? i am on the generic for 3 weeks now and I really feel no different. the doc gave me 25 mg of cytomel to add to my 75mcg of synthroid. advice from you guys, so I cut my synthroid in half and taking only 6 mcg of cytomel. but I have been taking 1/2 of cytomel in the morning and breaking the other half in two. so yeah that is 25 mg.
1956603 tn?1325036186 My doctor added the Cytomel around Dec 28th, I believe. I took the Tirosint first thing in the am with one 5mcg Cytomel and then took the other 5mcg Cytomel between 1-3 pm. I had been on Tirosint 150 mcg for several months prior to the Cytomel. I'm not sure what the change was between the past two results, but I am glad it happened. This is the best I have felt in years! My doctor would like to lower the Tirosint to 137 mcg but keep the Cytomel the same.
407745 tn?1230850087 I am taking Synthroid 100 MCG & Cytomel 5MCG what happens when you have too much T3 ? i have been looking for a new endrcrinologis, the dr.
