Common Questions and Answers about Cytomel online

cytomel

Avatar n tn The cytomel is a lot and after reading online and talking to people on this forum, I decided to take a tiny piece and really haven't taken it since. I have all these dosages because I really started on 100 then got bumped to 112, I was on 112 for a couple of years and my OBGYN doc said I needed more so she prescibed me a 90 day supply of 125. I took them for 2 days and made me too shaking, jumpy so I went back to 112. Then I went hyper so now I cut down to 100 so I could add cytomel.
Avatar f tn Could these be caused by thyroid or thyroid meds? Because of the supply problem, I just switched to 150 mcg. of levoxyl and 50 mcg. of cytomel. I seem to be having more palpitations on this drug? I also have "sweats" and anxiety. Thanks!
Avatar m tn In answer to your question regarding T3 meds, while there are sites online that say they sell cytomel without a prescription, I would never buy from them, because I have no idea what they are really selling... There are also some glandular products that are sold over the counter, but they are supposed to have the actual hormone content removed and are simply ground up tissue. In short, T3 products sold in the U.S require a prescription.
Avatar f tn hi. i'm no longer living in the STates so i don't have a US doctor to prescribe me Cytomel. i'm scared of ordering from sites that don't ask for a prescription because i don't want to get junk. Can anyone recommend an online site that i'll know i'm getting a brand name fda approved drug? thanks!
Avatar f tn You increased T4 from 88 to 100 mcg, yet you decreased T3 by 10 mcg, which because of the relative potency of T3 to T4 is the equivalent of decreasing 40-50 mcg of T4. So, net you decreased by 28-38 mcg in overall dose. Your labs did pretty much what I'd expect them to do. Why did you cut your T3? I think it's obvious from your current labs that you don't convert well.
988694 tn?1332359479 37 mcg of Cytomel. As I mentioned before it was all achieved by adding and decreasing every two or three weeks. My ratio now is 9. I thought that in a period of three months of adding Cytomel I should feel a little better, but I had horrible muscle pain, my hair was falling out in clumps (still falling) and the palpitations and anxiety where too much, I could not even sleep. I remember when I first started treatment I was on Synthroid and Cytomel.
Avatar n tn I had the same symptoms as you when taking Cytomel. Cytomel is a potent form of T3. I was sensitive to that small dose with my unithroid. I'm glad the doctor reduced your Synthroid. Seems like your doses were really high--especially the Cytomel, which still seems a concern. I would research Cytomel and get a second opinion from an endochronologist. Ridha Arem, M.D. explains the correct usage of giving Synthroid with Cytomel.
Avatar n tn Well, I tried a new endo since I still live with all hypo symptoms and asked for Cytomel with Synthroid. He reluctantly agreed to give it a try. He has prescribed lowering my Synthroid to 100 and adding Cytomel 5 b.i.d. for a total dose of 10. I think that seems a little high? My labs are: TSH 1.68. FT4 1.06. Total T4 9.7. Total T3 0.88. Total T3 uptake 37%. I do not know if Cytomel will help or not, but I am willing to try it versus living with the symptoms forever and ever....
Avatar f tn I have diagnosed hypothyroidism, Hashimotos, and from my own research with functional and integrative medicine practitioners I've studied online & taken some online testing only- my adrenals are "crashed." Source: Alan Christianson, NMD-(The Adrenal Reset Diet- w/other recommendations including specific supplementation do's and don'ts).
Avatar f tn I take synthroid and cytomel. Everything was good until this past Feb when after blood work my doctor said my TSH was too low and he dropped my synthroid. Each time blood work done (early May, late June and late August -TSH .12) my TSH remained low and my synthroid was cut each time. Doctor said free T4 and T3 fine each time. Got latest labs back last week in the mail (a first) and my TSH is <.004 with Free T4 of .64 (.61 - 1.76). T3 not done.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been treated for Hashi's for just over 3 years (June '05). I was started on just synthroid then added cytomel in Dec '06. Adjustments made at first and things were good until this past Feb when after blood work my doctor said my TSH was too low and he dropped my synthroid. Repeat blood work in early May showed TSH still low so another reduction in synthroid. Blood work at end of June again low TSH = decrease in synthroid. Late August TSH .12 (.45 - 4.5).
Avatar m tn decided to add cytomel 15 mcg...I was experiencing mood swings uncontrollable crying and nightmares... I gained about 5 pounds more with this drug ( I swear it made me hungrier than normal) ...so my Dr. adds Welbutrin XL 300 mg to regulate my mood and help with the crying jags I guess ...now I am experiencing insomnia, trembling hands, ringing in the ears and instead of helping I am getting awfully agitated at times....someone please help!! I feel like I am on a roller coaster...
Avatar f tn I need good information about how cytomel suppresses tsh to show new doctor...any ideas where to get this?
Avatar f tn 30 am for me; then I take the other 5 mcg cytomel at 9:30 am. I have more energy than I've had in years and I'm even beginning to sleep almost the entire night. I do start getting pretty tired around 3:00-3:30 pm, but that's ok because I'm home from work by then and I go to bed very early (7:30 pm) so I need to "wind down" anyway. I think you need to talk to your doctor and see about an adjustment to your med.
Avatar f tn What time did your doctor tell you to take it? Some people take it with the synthroid, others take it later in the day, still others split the dose in 1/2 and take 1/2 at one time, the other 1/2 at another time. It's generally recommended that you decrease the dosage of your T4 med, when adding cytomel; has your doctor told you to do this? Can you post your most recent labs, with reference ranges, so members can more fully assess and comment on your situation?
252327 tn?1250183976 t converting my t4 into t3, So today my doctor added cytomel 25mcg, should he have lowered my dose of synthroid? Is it ok to take the same dose with cytomel? I have hypothyroidsim and hashimotos.
798555 tn?1292787551 supplier in Florida, second supply from Universal Drug online. Both batches seemed to be the same quality despite rumors I read on another forum about possible counter fitting of Erfa. Lets hope Erfa continues to be another option for dessicated thyroid med for a long time.
744962 tn?1270942038 Your TGab, at 87, indicates autoimmune disease - Hashimoto's thyroiditis. You have been hypo for so long that your thyroid is more than liely completely destroyed at this point, and you are on 100% replacement hormones. Your FT4 is high, but since you still have some hypo symptoms, I wouldn't let that concern me too much. On the other hand, your FT3 is quite low, and I think that's what is causing your hypo symptoms.
Avatar n tn What is considered a really good Free T3 level, my seems to run at about 227 which is in my opion low, my TSH is 1.7 and my Free T4 is 1? I am on syn.50 and cytomel 5mcg, I feel ok, all the really bad symptoms are gone, except that I tend to retain a little water but I am very constipated which I think maybe caused from the sluggish Free T3, but the problem is when Doc adjusts meds, my TSH rock bottoms?? Can not figure out a solution??
Avatar f tn I think I need to have something like cytomel to add t3 to my meds. My question is....if i bought some of the otc pills, is it like cytomel or Armour? Would it hurt to take extra pills like that in addition to my levothyroxine? Should i ask my doctor? Why can you buy natural thyroid hormone products and yet need a prescription for others? I just dont want to do something stupid.
1369218 tn?1282423884 Each drug manufacturer has a customer service number for this reason, listed online. I called Cytomel myself recently when my hair started falling out again when I was switched back to the branded drug from the generic T3. All the best, here's to your good health.
Avatar f tn Are you splitting your Cytomel into two half doses? I think you could use a Cytomel increase. Your FT3 is only 16% of range, and it should be 50+%. How much are you planning to increase your Cytomel? I'd ordinarily say that you wouldn't need to decrease your Synthroid at this point if you're just adding a little more Cytomel, but I worry a bit about your RT3 if you don't decrease it some.
Avatar n tn 75 Levoxyl and 25 Cytomel, My range is optimal. I took extra with me, from the States to the UK, where I am looking to live, or possibly France, as I have EU citizenship. USPS attempt to ship meds returned to the States. I will investigate DHL with Endo statement, labs, documentation. In the interim, NHS informed me they do not prescribe those brand names.
