cytomel

734073 tn?1278896325 Katie sent me a message in my inbox. She only took 25 mg. of Cytomel and I think she said she was going to split it. She also put in a call to her doctor. Thanks for the intervention. She said she was okay! Ya'll are wonderful, caring people. Keep up the good work and concern for others!
1039061 tn?1257878294 It looks to me like you are overmedicated on T4 (Levoxyl) but might need to add in a little T3 (Cytomel). Your FT4 is clearly over range, and midrange is the target for FT4. However, your FT3 is at 46% of range, and the rule of thumb here is 67%+. Also, your FT3 is lower in its range than FT4 is in its, and that indicates slow conversion. Have you asked your doctor about trying Cytomel? Some doctors who won't use desiccated will use synthetic T3.
Avatar f tn i asked her about my T3 level and adding cytomel and she agreed, i started it 2 days ago i am praying this is the answer, i just want to feel normal! So my main question is how long should it take before i see an improvement in my symptoms? I am posting my labs in case anyone has helpful info, sorry for the long post, i appreciate any input! TPO AB 0.3 - range <9.0 TSH 0.75 - range 0.34-5.00 T3 90 - range 87-178 PTH 34.4 - range 12-88 FT4 1.2 - range 0.6-1.
Avatar f tn I'm new to this app and I just realized there were message boards.. I'm wondering if the boards are designed to go By your weeks or age? Sorry If I sound like an idiot but I was just checking..
Avatar f tn t see Lyme as a truly serious illness may try to cause trouble for MDs who *do* take Lyme very seriously, and the result could be problems for the Lyme docs with the state medical boards. (The medical boards tend to hold to the old belief that Lyme is no big deal.) Over time, the medical profession will work itself out, but for now, please do NOT post names of any MDs here, in order to protect them.
Avatar n tn It is replacing a hormone that the body needs and is not manufacturing properly. My daughter has been on Synthroid and Cytomel since she was eight. Two pills for the rest of her life.
407745 tn?1230850087 I am taking Synthroid 100 MCG & Cytomel 5MCG what happens when you have too much T3 ? i have been looking for a new endrcrinologis, the dr.
Avatar n tn t had that at all since starting the Cytomel). Is it even possible for the lack of taking Cytomel to hit me that quickly? I know Cytomel is a quicker acting and quicker out of the system medication but is it possible to notice it that quickly? I am thinking of leaving her a message on Tuesday to see if I can go back on Cytomel and reduce the Levoxyl. I don't think she's a huge fan of Cytomel but at least she was willing to prescribe it at that point.
8382486 tn?1397856353 Free T4 1.35 / Free T3 2.8 / TSH 0.03. I have read pages and pages and blogs and boards and everything else I can get my hands on about thryoid meds and am so confused. I feel marginally better taking the Cytomel but dont know when to take it, with or without food, with or without my Synthroid. Im back to work now and looking for a routine that I can keep to as far as taking the meds, some energy back in my life and the right questions to ask the MD or requests to make about medication changes.
Avatar m tn Levothyroxine may be fine, all things being equal. But if all things are NOT equal, if you have an allergic reaction to levothyroxine--which I think many do--adrenal issues, or tissue resistance to thyroid hormones, then, in my opinion, levothyroxine is probably worthless. I personally have 2 of the 3 situations above--not sure yet if I have thyroid resistance...need more lab work. But this makes it a bit more of a conundrum for me, and others, I'm sure.
Avatar n tn Check out the message boards on these 2 websites for CPAP related questions. The boards here are very active. I think I've read this problem on those boards before. www.cpaptalk.com www.apneasupport.
Avatar m tn With cytomel and being given eltroxin again my tsh gradually went from 84. To. 1.5. Now my ft4 is rising at a rate of about 10. Per three months . Am asking what is happening . ( different topic ) I was taken off eltroxin and given ptu when my tsh was 84. With no other tests or procedures performed about a year ago . Am on waiting list still to visit a Endo .
Avatar m tn Oh, and here is a message board for ALS. Maybe it will help you to hear other stories and see if they match yours. http://www.************.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?
Avatar f tn I guess all people care about on these message boards are their STDs.
Avatar f tn I had a TT in October '07 due to papillary thyroid carcinoma. I am 40 yo, the nodule was 12mm, there were no apparent metatheses at all, and I underwent radioactive iodine treatment afterward. The endo put me on 125mcg synthroid and up to 75mcg cytomel after the final scan. I then tapered off the cytomel. While on the cytomel, I felt "normal" meaning I had no symptoms either hyper or hypo and I never felt a rush from taking the cytomel.
Avatar f tn In Summer of 2008, I finally went to doctor outside my HMO plan who was willing to let me try Cytomel. It was a miracle drug for me at first, as my brain awoke after years of struggling, I felt fantastic, then started the heart JUMPS worse than the word palpitations describes for me. Anyway, after it started, it seemed even the very slightest dosage 1/4 of 5mcg, caused this to happen.
573676 tn?1217527171 I'm wondering if anyone knows a good place--a free place--to chat about womens health topics. I'm not talking about message boards. I have a few questions that I just cannot get answered and was hoping if maybe there was somewhere that I could actually talk to someone and see if they can help me. Thanks for your help I'm really confused right now.
Avatar f tn I think it's fairly common to add Synthroid to Armour. T3 seems to lower T4. I take both Synthroid and Cytomel. Before I started the Cytomel my T4 levels were at the top of the range. Now it's around mid-level. If you are having symptoms I don't think you necessarily need to lower your Armour dosage before adding Synthroid. Your doc is correct in mostly ignoring TSH at this point. T3 will drive TSH into the ground. Best to go by symptoms & frees.
183933 tn?1290216962 Just keep googling and searching but stick to the more commendable sites and steer clear from answers on message boards because those are opinions and not scientific research.

Avatar f tn m really concerned about finding a doctor that will test Free T3/Free T4, prescribe Cytomel, take my symptoms into account and ignore TSH. At six months since starting medicine for Hashi/Hypo, we moved to London. At the time, I was taking T4 only. On my first visit/labs they reduced my T4 dose based exclusively on TSH which was in range (.8), but they wanted my TSH over 1.
Avatar f tn I had a thyroidectomy in 2008 and ever since then I have been on a roller coaster of Synthroid! Up and down. 112 to 150mcg's. Finally Mr. Perfect Endoman has saved me with the Cytomel 5mcg in the am/pm. HOWEVER I started the cytomel just in the am while I was on 137mcg of Synthroid. I dropped every afternnoon about 3pm to total sleepytown. I mean like I couldn't hardly stay awake. So Mr. Perfect Endo dropped my Synthroid to 112mcg's and Cytomel twice a day.
Avatar f tn Are you familiar with the 'private message' function on this website? I can send you a recommendation there, since we keep our doc's names out of the public area of this site, to protect our Lyme docs -- in some jurisdictions, the Lyme docs need to keep very very quiet to avoid the state and local medical boards from trying to shut the docs down.
Avatar m tn can I? post a new message to the other Heart Rhythm medical questions board. Do I need to create a whole new profile? Use another email and password? Seems that way but hoping I am wrong and someone can give me a clue here:-) Thanks!
