735919 tn?1236444549 I am 30yrs old and i am taking Cymbalta for my Fibromyalgia pain but i have to stop it do to my insurance. It works REALLY well for my pain. I wanted to know if anyone is taking Lyrica for their pain and if it works.
Avatar n tn meds that a lot of doctors tend to try - Cymbalta. How do you find the Cymbalta working for you? Have you noticed it has helped with your pain at all? Have you tried Savella? That also is a "newer" med that is used for fibro. Do you also take a muscle relaxer? If not, you may want to ask your doctor about adding one to your med regime. While I don't find that they help alone, I have found that they can be helpful when added to my other meds. How is your sleep?
1577364 tn?1296689784 I have found some relief with the cymbalta for the FM. But, I also take other meds such as anti-inflam and muscle relaxants for arthitis and spinal problems, so I dont know if the cymbalta itself is helping with the FM, or if it is the combination of meds. I still have flare-ups of FM, but not as bad. From what I've seen, there isnt one thing that seems to be helpful for the FM. Everyone seems to have a med or combo of meds that helps for them. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I had symbalta for like 2 years for my fibromyalgia , everything was good until once day i starter feeling depress and confuse, the medicine was making me sick and i stoped it.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried or currently use Cymbalta for Fibromyalgia. My primary care Dr. wants me to try it for my pain. I have glaucoma, it's under controlled but im still afraid to take it because of the side affects. Im in so much pain most of the time. I also have non hodgkns lymphoma and sarcoidosis and both are in remission , and I pray I can get some kind of relief. I really would like to hear some input on this.
8496079 tn?1398412516 I was put on Gabapentin (generic for Neurontin) yesterday by my doctor for my Fibromyalgia Condition in addition to the Norco 7.5/325 I can take up to 4 pills day as needed for the massive pain I'm in.

Avatar f tn 6 months ago I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and put on Tramadol ER 200 and 50mg prn for breakthrough. I was also put on Lyrica, which I stopped taking, Concerta, which works very well at a low dose, and Cymbalta 60mg that I take everyday. I stopped taking the Tramadol 2 days ago and feel horrible. I have a script waiting at the pharmacy. Do I go pick it up and taper off or keep going since I'm already this far in? Help me please.
4074293 tn?1351896693 Talking to the doctor next week to try something else. I also tried cymbalta and cymbalta with the lyrica and they did not help the pain. The cymbalta was making me moody and irritable and i just wanted to be left alone.
Avatar n tn hi. you might get more help if this wasnt posted in the dental forum. my mom just started taking cymbalta its an antidepressant but it seems to help her pain. i am not sure if its been approved for fibromyalgia but her dr had read a few articles about how it might help so he told the insurance company it was for depression caused by her pain so they would be sure to cover it. if your current dr isnt up to date with treatment options i would go to someone else. good luck!
7450908 tn?1390996321 I was diagnosed with fibro about 18 years ago. I've been using Lyrica & was using Cymbalta for a while as well. I quit using the antidepressant because it seemed to make the depression worse. I'm on low income & I'm telling this medication is getting so expensive that I have a hard time affording to buy just a months worth at taking one a day. At certain times of the year I have to take more than one a day. Is there a more natural way to deal with fibro?
Avatar n tn I find it curious someone else reported being told Cymbalta would relieve this if sympathetic disorder. I recently got off Cymbalta (I was put on for fibromyalgia) and now I notice the swelling again! Also, swelling in my hands that I hadn't noticed before, but the left foot i just plain weird, and weirder still is the fact that so many also have this swelling only on the left foot!
Avatar f tn Actually cymbalta is not just an antidepressant. Cymbalta works to relieve fibromyalgia pain is not entirely understood but it's thought that by increasing the activity of two naturally-occurring substances -- serotonin and norepinephrine -- it suppresses pain. I have been on Cymbalta for several years and know that it does help. I was unable for a period of four or five months to obtain cymbalta so ran out.
Avatar m tn Cymbalta is an SNRI which may make a difference for you. I took it for about 2 years and had no side effects.
177382 tn?1253041140 Cymbalta has been approved by the FDA for use as a treatment for FM. I'm on Wellbutrin for depression and Topamax for migraines. Due to the FM I still have breakthrough neurological symptoms or should I say neuralgic pain in my neck head face and fibro pain throughout the rest of my body. I do believe Cymbalta will help with my symptoms. My only concern is that I am on Wellbutrin already plus, I did not do well on Effexor which is another SNRI but a little different than Cymbalta.
1125419 tn?1259705049 What were you put on Cymbalta for? I was put on 60mg Cymbalta for depression from my doctor and I don't think it is doing a darn thing for me. I still feel downright depressed and overwhelmed in my daily life. Why were you switched to the prozac? I am thinking I should ask my doctor to switch my medication.I don't know about the leg cramps- I'm sorry- I hope they go away though.
Avatar n tn My neurologist said he would not do test after I told him also dizzy and forgetting things. He said it was stress. Also, my "pcp" is treating me for fibromyalgia as far as my legs go. Had tried Cymbalta now on Savella.
714288 tn?1243254191 Yep we are in a class together allright! The class for "bad choices in life for many years" About the cymbalta, is there something to use to taper off it? I figure that if I can have this methadone monkey on my back that surely I can handle the cymbalta, what do you think Fret??
Avatar n tn I use Cymbalta for abdomen, neck and hand pain and Fibromyalgia. It does a good job for me. There are some unpleasant side effects such as nausea and being light headed upon standing being the worst for me. I tried Neurontin and Lyrica. I couldn't take the side effects from either of those two. I've experienced life without Cymbalta. Without it my pains levels are considerably higher. My mood is much better on it.
Avatar f tn One of the main ones is Duloxetine, which is a generic for Cymbalta. I take that for my neuropathy… It helps considerably, but doesn’t eliminate the pain. If you look it up, Cymbalta (Duloxetine) is listed as an anti-depressant, but it’s used “off label” quite often for pain. Check with your doctor and see if that might be possibility for you.
Avatar f tn You can spend more as well and it is going to last you and go a lot further than 2 patches. And I use it and it is helpful. You could look for alternatives. They also make a spray, also inexpensive. Ketamine infusions I've heard are pretty amazing. Only down side is it is not a one stop fix, you have to go through the whole series. Our state (I'm in the US) is basically one hundred percent open, so hopefully if you are slotted to get that, you can soon.
1042487 tn?1275279899 ll see this as last post is so old, but I have taken Cymbalta (60 mgs in summer; 90 in winter) for years for my fibromyalgia. I noticed that when I did air travel, I would experience at least a day (or 2) of Fibro pain within 3 days of flying. I wondered what I could do to prevent these flare ups after flying. I decided to try Melatonin. It helped so well with flying! No Fibro flare ups! I wondered what would it be like to take it regularly? So I began taking 10 mgs of melatonin at night.
Avatar f tn Also, you need to quit smoking if you want to have an effective treatment for your Fibromyalgia. Remember, Fibromyalgia is treatable without side effects but you need to find the right doctor and minimize all stresses.
Avatar f tn I have fibromyalgia and so does my mother. From what I have learned it can stay the way it is now for the rest of your life or it can get worse. Try to stay on a daily routine sleep when your tired and don't overdue yourself, the best you can do is take good care of yourself hoping to help it not get worse. Very true, as bad as it gets for you.
