Avatar n tn "But I cannot find any other reports on this? WHY?" You hit a double whammy. I looked for side effects and found that each drug causes nausea, 25% of the people taking cymbalta get nausea/vomit. Tell your doctor.
1442059 tn?1340244552 Ditto. Trin is correct. It can take a while for you to get use to the new meds. Remember it is changing the chemicals in your brain it take time for that to stabilize. If your symptoms cause by side effects continue then you should try another anti-depressant. Each person reacts differently to these drugs. You need to find a anti-depressant that works for YOU. No need to worry about an anti-depressant causing suicide. It is a very rare side effect of any anti-depressant.
Avatar n tn Attention anyone taking Cymbalta...PLEASE read about the side effects and the horrible withdrawl symptoms. It turned me into a zoombie then it took over a year to withdraw from. It is worse than anything I have ever experienced in my whole life. I am not going to be a guinea pig for any more of these new drugs, I'll just stick with vicodin.
422425 tn?1307996590 I am having some strange symptoms that I think might be side effects....Just wondering if anyone who has taken it had really weird sleep distubances like funky dreams and feeling like you are drowning. I don't want to quit taking it because it really helps, but this is weird. Just wondering, thought I would post this before asking my DR.

Avatar f tn However I had relatives who were on cymbalta, they experience side effects, both good and bad, including fainting. So If you are experience effects from it, work with your doctor on titrating down the dosage just to be safe.
Avatar f tn The fact that you are also starting a new medication does confuse matters as you don't know whether you are experiencing side effects from the new med or side effects from withdrawal of the previous med. This is why getting in touch with your psychiatrist is the best option.
924711 tn?1290270157 I have used the Cymbalta before and had good results as far as helping FMS. I discontinued it due to its side-effects, even though it helped the pain. You might check out some of the alternative protocols in our Health Pages. It's likely that you are dealing with a build up of bacteria in your body, which is found in over 50% of those with these illnesses. There are options on treatments. Hope you feel better soon.
Avatar n tn Hi Beck I am new here, but while searching for side effects for Pristiq, I found your question. I wanted to respond. I began taking Pristiq in early January. My doctor told me it didn't produce the side effects like weight gain, ect.... that are commonly experienced with other anti-depressants such as Paxil, Lexapro, and so on. So I took the Pristiq for approximately 5-6 weeks, and I had a very bad scare due to the Pristiq. I got extremely sick at my stomach a couple of weeks ago.
329994 tn?1301666848 While Cymbalta did help manage both my depression and muscle pain, the side effects were what i hated about it. I never had digestion problems from it, but my stomach hurt constantly and my appetite disappeared. Eating became a chore and if i got distracted with school/work responsibilities, i would forget to eat, sometimes for 2 days. I also developed hyperhydrosis and always had a chemical/metalic taste in my mouth.
Avatar n tn clean scans (had one today) CA125 in the 6 to 7 range. During all of this I never had much in the way of neuropathy side effects; just post chemo day things that were expected. But now, almost 3 1/2 months after finishing my maint. I have developed neuropathy-like symptoms (sometimes intense) i.e.
Avatar n tn My husband is getting off Cymbalta to go back on Effexor (yes it's true) b/c in spite of the horrid side effects he felt much better overall on Effexor. In stepping off the Cymbalta he was told by his doc to take it ev other day for a week, (60mg) then start Effexor 37.5 daily for a week then 75mg. My husband skipped yesterday, and today is dizzy - like can't walk dizzy, slurring words, can't think / focus, chills, vomiting - it's horrible and my kids are terrified.
Avatar n tn Is it like saying just taking longer birth control pills? What are the side effects? What are the benefits? Has FDA approved? Where i can search more about Yaz? Will it affect my future plan of having a healthy pregnancy? Also, i was told if i do want to get pregnant, i should wait 6 months after taking the birth control pills. is that true?
Avatar n tn She was like a guinea pig and now, 8 years after, she is living with side effects that have never gone : hypotension (around 8), fainding every day, unbearable headaches, kidney pyelonephritis every months, and an exhausting fatigue that keep her in her bed sometimes several days, where she can hardly eat alone. Before that, she was so full of life, making car races, flying planes, being a model for photographes, and photographer herself.
1298907 tn?1272890088 It didn't take long for my PCP to discontinue the Cymbalta. It did not cause vertigo, headache or any of the usual side effects I get from most meds. The feelings never returned to even close to the severe degree that they were at when the Cymbalta was prescribed. So in that respect it must have helped. I can't say that I will never take it again....but I would have to be desperate. So that was my experience...but remember I do not tolerate most drugs.
Avatar f tn I suggest the previous because you are suffering from side-effects of pain and possible worst attacks of the body. I hope it helps.
Avatar m tn I did Extacy when I was 18 years old about 3 times. I never experienced any side effects from it. I am now 26 years old. For some stupid reason which I greatly regret. I took an Extacy pill September 28th. I had a great time on it. The next day I felt fine but about 2 weeks later I was feeling very high anxiety & I am suffering from depression. I also was having mood swings.
209591 tn?1267418314 Some days I am barely able to even keep liquids down, which scare me because I am on so many different medicines, and I do not want my body to start going through withdrawal..What could be causing this, could one of my conditions, side effects of some of my meds, or the fact that I am weaning off of my anti-depressants (per my GP). I am on Lamictal, Pamelor, Cymbalta, Requip, Naprosyn, Lasix, Potassium, Flonase, Allegra D, & Phernergan (as needed for nausea & vomiting).

324184 tn?1308079803 She has been on it for 6 days and she has had diarrhea and vomiting for 3 out of those 6 days. Has anyone experienced these types of side effects on Pristiq? I know everyone is different and we're hoping that her body will adjust to it and start working. I'm also wondering if she is sick due to abruptly stopping the Cymbalta (her dr. for whatever reason said she did not need to ween herself off) Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you in advance.

Avatar n tn I stopped taking the cymbalta due to side effects. I didn't take any on Monday and still haven't. My primary care doctor prescribed the cymbalta to me! I was in the middle of withdrawing from celexa which was a nightmare in itself it's been almost a month I been off of it! so on a Saturday when my psych wasn't around I was desperate. I went to my primary doctor and that is when he prescribed the cymbalta.
5856747 tn?1403352282 These, I think you will have to agree, are pretty devastating side effects for a single drug to have. When you get your antidepressant dispensed to you by your friendly Community Pharmacist there will be, tucked inside the box, a Patient Information Leaflet. This is an EU or FDA generated document that is supposed to mean something. It is supposed to impart at least some useful information. Let’s look at it for Prozac then, the most popular antidepressant of them all.
