Avatar n tn Attention anyone taking Cymbalta...PLEASE read about the side effects and the horrible withdrawl symptoms. It turned me into a zoombie then it took over a year to withdraw from. It is worse than anything I have ever experienced in my whole life. I am not going to be a guinea pig for any more of these new drugs, I'll just stick with vicodin.
1094370 tn?1317138425 Anyway, I won't be going off the Cymbalta anytime soon, that's for sure because I do think it's helping. I didn't really notice any side effects at all from it. Cymbalta is an SNRI whereas, Prozac and some of the others are an SSRI. I'm not exactly sure of the difference, but there is one. My left foot is pulsating as I type this. I hate it, but it's not nearly as bad as it used to be.
1290770 tn?1272079135 What are the chances that I'm going to have extremely adverse side effects from it? Has anyone here had really bad side effects? Has it helped anyone? Also, I was reading that Cymbalta can increase suicidal thoughts?? Even though the Doc said I seem to be severely depressed, I really don't consider myself anymore depressed than anyone else. Should I be worried? I'd really rather not kill myself :-/ Also, before the pain got so bad I had to stop, I was doing 30 min of yoga a day.
Avatar n tn Is it like saying just taking longer birth control pills? What are the side effects? What are the benefits? Has FDA approved? Where i can search more about Yaz? Will it affect my future plan of having a healthy pregnancy? Also, i was told if i do want to get pregnant, i should wait 6 months after taking the birth control pills. is that true?
Avatar n tn In the past month, I have developed pain in my jaw on one side. I have also had pain in my ear on the same side. (I am currently out of the U.S. for several months and am having to rely on local medical/dental resources where I am not a regular patient.) I first saw a dentist who told me that my "bite" was not right and he adjusted an inlay in one of my molars to correct it. This has not really helped me. I also went to see a doctor who said that my ear was inflamed.
Avatar f tn I started taking Cymbalta last week Monday, had a few of the normal side effects, but was actually feeling pretty great by the end of the week other than an increase in anxiety/feeling like I couldn't sit still/very restless. Along with that, I could not stop clenching my jaw and it was getting very painful and irritating. My doctor recommended stopping it for the weekend and restarting on Monday (tomorrow).
Avatar f tn It felt like all my nerves were on fire-From my jaw, to my head, and even down to my arm/shoulder.) Well since then, it has only gotten worse. My therapist said that the exercises and what she could offer would not help until I could get everything to chill out….so she sent me to chiropractic for myofacial release. He had a $50 co-pay twice a week. I just can’t afford that.

Avatar m tn too many side effects to list. I went to a neurologist, a holistic doc, 3 second opinion docs, and not one mentioned it could be the lyrica. My PCP suggested I see a shrink. This drug should be banned!!! I hope we see adds on 1-800 bad drug. I will be the first to sign up. I have several health issues but nothing compares to how this drug changed my brain and body. has anyone else had the head/brain tingling sensation? feeling like you are loosing your mind?
Avatar n tn Like 2% increments every 15 days or so. Cymbalta is a powerful medication.
Avatar f tn We were wondering if some of these symptoms were from withdrawal of the Geodon or side effects of the new medication, Clozaril? I’ve also read online in some chat rooms of people having awful withdrawal symptoms getting off Geodon. Do you know of anyone diagnosed with bipolar disorder who has been able to get off all medications entirely?
201149 tn?1211510730 I am experiencing waves of numbness across my face, from left side down and across my jaw bone and nose. It gives me a sensation of dizziness and does not always occur with the PN pain. What is is! Also, I have heard of several other drugs for nerve pain and would like to know what is best recommended, as the Lyrica (600 mg/day) is causing extreme side effects - weight gain (35 lbs.) - hair loss, and short term memory loss, which comes and goes.
Avatar n tn i too got on effexor and benzos to try to relax but it just made the dizziness and brain fog so much worse that i got off all meds after 7 weeks. i was also getting side effects like high blood pressure and restless legs. i really couldn't tell if my condition was worsening or if it was jut the meds. it just made it so much more confusing. i needed to know how my condition was w/o the meds. i now know that my own stress and anxiety is not causing the symptoms.
1225279 tn?1295549187 Hard turning neck without feeling sick, hurts to turn eyes from side to side. Urinating ever hour, slight incontinence. Face twitching (cheeks one side at a time, jaw trembles, under eye twitching one side at a time). Sight, hearing are fine. I have lost weight, about 50 pound this year due to the medication. I have had these problems which have progressed over the past 3 years. I was working out for most of last year until the pain and weakness got to be too much. I am with a Neurologist.
Avatar n tn but after looking at the side effects ........I dont want to take it..........I am in lots of on and off pain more on then off..............ativan helped me...........
Avatar n tn Teeth Clinching during sleep is a potential side effect of SNRI's like Effexor and Cymbalta. It is not one of the most common side effects, but some people do experience this. One thing you can do to ease the impact of this side effect is to get a molded retainer to wear while sleeping. This will reduce the fatuge on your jaw and eliminate damage to your teeth. Contact your dentist about this and he or she will know exactly what you need.
Avatar n tn Until amitriptyline gets metabolized, it circulates throughout the body, potentially causing numerous side effects. Nortriptyline is not without side effects, but its side effects are generally milder. Other drugs that may be considered include Neurontin, Lyrica, Effexor, Lexapro, Cymbalta, and Keppra are worth considering. For my occipital (back of the head) neuralgia, I am getting good relief from Cymbalta, Lyrica, and Keppra.
Avatar f tn I had to take that medicine because I read in the internet about the secundary effects. Is there someone that has taken Cymbalta? How was the effects?
Avatar n tn There are many many side effects to many medications that are just as bad, if not worse than the actual depression, especially if you are only mildly to moderately depressed. If you are severely depressed, then yes, I would consider medicine, but please go see a psychologist too!! Wow that was a rant, but I hope it helped. Once I get going I can't stop. But I wish you all the best.

664365 tn?1225161389 I have had one nerve block that gave some relief for a couple of days, and have tried Lyrica (which I couldn't tolerate) and now Cymbalta, which is giving me some side effects at 30 mg a day. I have been taking Meprozine 50/25 mg and Zanaflex 12 mg morning and night just to get through each day. I also use topical Lidocaine ointment on the area around the surgery site. The worst pain is inside my body just under my right ribs.
Avatar n tn Her Psyc Dr has also put her on Cymbalta for depression. She also takes Providgil to counter the sleepy effects of all the medications combined. She says she wants to try to come off of the medicine BUT, I do not think she has the will power to do it. GOD knows we (the family) want her off of it. Her mood swings and emotional state vary greatly on a daily basis. I do not hold it against her as I know it is the meds, but it has been tough, real tough.
Avatar f tn Are you being treated for depression? Besides weight gain, what are the side effects of the drugs you are taking? It could be many things, not just cardiac. Have you had your thyroid checked out?
Avatar n tn I am 37 yrs. old. My Dr. has prescribed nearly all the anitdepressants out there. I had bad side-effects with each, jaw tightening, teeth grinding, more headaches, insomnia, more anxiety, more tense and agitated (which is not like me)-- Prozac did help the monthly period oddly enough! But I could not tolerate side effects. Recently tried Cymbalta for it's so called 'pain' inhibitors--- I felt suicidal, a zombie, extremely lethargic-- yet felt wired at the same time.
Avatar m tn Yes, the same doctor who never mentioned the side effects of Lexapro to me. So, I am naturally worried and have done a ton of research on Web Md and other sites. It seems that this medication either works great for you from day one or it is a complete nightmare with side effects worse then your initial Anxiety. Exaamples: Naseau, Brain Zaps,, High Blood Pressure, Sand Shakes? and blurred vision are common in the 248 posts I read on Web Md.
Avatar n tn Numbness on one side of my head (sometimes both sides, and on occasions, my entire head and face) Sometimes tingling or crawling sensations in my head Some dizziness Feeling of panic and hyperactivity (like i have to be constantly moving around whilst I panic) Pressure in one side of my head, sometimes both twitching in right eye, sometimes other body parts also Numbness across my chest I found myself always clutching my jaw and grinding my teeth on one side During the episodes I had, I could
