cymbalta not working

I know my Cymbalta is not working anymore. I am at 120 mg per day and my depression is so overwhelming I cannot think clearly. No appetite, crying, fatigued. My doctor, around three months ago, suggested I be put on Effexor along with slowly tapering off the Cymbalta, but I had a very bad reaction with taking both meds and we decided to just keep me on the Cymbalta. Something else has GOT to work. I can't live like this. Has this happened to anyone else?

t handle them either (I apparently am very sensitive to that type of med and they make me EXTREMELY hyper and actually increase my pain a LOT) I currently take hydrocodone for pain and ambien for sleep. A while back I was having trouble with the Ambien not working and my doctor tried me on trazodone, but once again, I reacted badly to it and rather than it helping me sleep, it made me hyper and I was not able to sleep for 2 1/2 days while taking it!

I've been taking Zoloft twice a day (100 mg) for more than 10 years and it is no longer working. I'm interesting in trying to figure out what to try now. I've heard good things about Lexapro (insurance covers) and Cymbalta (insurance does not cover no generic)... So what should I do... I'm so depressed lately - i can't stand it.. just want to isolate and sleep 24/7. no energy or interest in anything... pls help. thank you.

Digestive problems are one of the most common symptoms of antidepressants. If the drug is working for you otherwise, you can try remedies such as aloe juice and digestive enzymes. If it isn't working for you, then yes, you should try something else, but taper slowly and work with your psychiatrist when doing so. If the psychiatrist doesn't seem to understand or empathize with withdrawal problems, find another.

I was recently prescribed Cymbalta for severe Anxiety. I am taking it but I haven't been on it long enough for it to start working yet. Does anyone have any personal experience with this medication? Does anyone know how well this medication will work? I am worried it won't work at all. My Psychiatrist has tried me on so many different medications.

I was on Cymbalta along with Propanolol, Blood pressure medication, and Clonazepam. I had excellent results.

The doc just switched her to cymbalta since the Zoloft has not been working, but for some reason he said to start with 30mg for a week and then go to 60mg. Now she took the 30mg this morning but she feels like he is starting her off on to low of a dose even though it is a different drug becasue she is not feeling to good from stopping the zoloft. Basically has anyone that is taking Cymbalta start off at 60mg first, I really don't think it is going to hurt her, but just wanted to know.

Today my doc switched me from Effexor to Cymbalta because I have chronic back pain and she felt the Effexor was not helping me at all. My main concern is stopping the Effexor. Has anyone switched like this before? I want to know if I should still expect the intense Effexor withdrawal symptoms such as brain zapping, nausea, dizziness, and crying spells. Any advice would greatly help. I want to know what I'm getting myself in to!

I found out I have fibromyalgia. The Dr put me on cymbalta 60 mg. I went back and told him I was still hurting and felt drepress more, crying. He upped the cymbalta to 120 mg a day. I fell sad and dont feel like my self. I am still hurting but not as bad. Can someone help me please!

Finally went to Doctor and he gave me a 3 week supply of Cymbalta. I could no longer deal with the depression caused by quitting the Oxy. Can anyone tell me about any experience with Cymbalta. I have never taken anti depressants before. Apparently takes a week or two to work.

my doc says neither is good substitute for other, it took me 6 months to go off cymbalta, I do not recommend it, hprrible withdrawal, don;t go there unless you plan on staying on it forever

I take 30mg of cymbalta but it is not working well right now. Would adding 20mg of prozac (fluoxetine) help or hurt?

Ive been on so many things over the years and they just stop working. Any side effects on the Cymbalta? Pristique didnt work for me at all.

ve gone through and since most days have been better or good, does that mean my Cymbalta is working again but just takes more time to settle in and get my chemicals right again?! I take my Cymbalta in the morning, always have (nearly a year now).

I started Cymbalta over six weeks ago. Switched from Celexa which was maxed out. Everything went super smooth. No digestive problems at all. All of a sudden six weeks later I get diarrhea. It has lasted almost a month. Just recently it isn't watery, but it's still sof, but formed sometime. My Dr.believes it is the Cymbalta. Any body else have this happen weeks after starting a new anxiety med.

It works for some, not for others. I gave it a shot and it ended up not working. Others swear by its results. I would try it.

I changed to Cymbalta with great results. However, I am starting to believe that it is no longer working and am considering changing back to Prozac. Has anyone else had trouble with the drugs effects tapering off like that? And if so, how do I go about safely making the change?

Hi. I take 60mg cymbalta. 1mg Ativan. And 150mg xl wellbutrin. I'm kinda not happy cymbalta is very impossible to get off of. But. It's the only drug that worked and no side affects. I've been on everything over 20 yrs. suddenly developing panic attacks ,anxiety and depression. Maybe Iam wrong but would like off the cymbalta but how ? Plus I do suffer scalp issues and hair loss and it drives me nuts.

I have only been taking Cymbalta for 6 days and since day one can not sleep AT ALL at night and having trouble with fast heart beat. Wondering if I can just quit cold turkey since I haven't been taking it for long......

Don't take abilify with Cymbalta! I take Cymbalta and then I was also put on abilify shortly before my family and I went on vacation to Disneyworld and it was the worst time I ever had! I felt like I was going to jump out of my skin! I was so agitated and could not sleep. I would pace at night! I did get off abilify when I got back and am just on Cymbalta now and am better but I am experiencing things like headaches and heart palpitations so may be getting off Cymbalta, too.
