Cymbalta memory loss

Common Questions and Answers about Cymbalta memory loss

cymbalta

Avatar f tn It helped some but I decided to go off of it due to balance problems and short term memory loss. My Endo also said it wasn't a good drug. I was told to try cymbalta for the joint pains but am reluctant to try it as I'm afraid I will have even worse side effects. Has anyone ever tried cymbalta for joint pains due to Hashi's?
Avatar f tn I have facial numbness and other side effects .I have been off for 7mths . I wasn't sure what was the cause of this because of other meds . I stopped all of them and started having seziure. I am on depakote and so far so good seziure free but still have some things happening that I can't explain. How long has it been for you and has these effects lessened any.
Avatar m tn i have severe migranes that last for days or a week straight, i'm having short term memory loss, balance issues, reaction, slight coordination issues (like typing or spelling) & thought process times have changed (slower), feel like im falling (not all the time) but i'm not mobile at the time, was told by doctor to see neurologist to have an mri of my brain.
562833 tn?1233759709 Does anyone or has anyone experienced memory loss over pain killers. I feel I am losing my mind half the time. I can't remember what I was about to do, or what I need to do. And where I put stuff, I am really starting to worry about this, along with all the other things, I am worried about. maybe this is just part of my OCD. I tend to worry about everything and keep stressing about it.
Avatar n tn Early on he had multiple ear infections and suffered hearing loss as well as last year being DX'd with severe visual loss. Now wearing very thick glasses. He fell down stairs when very small. Had MRI with neg. results. Also had stomach pumped due to ingesting mother's cymbalta. I have recommended complete pediatric neurology work up. Mothe thinks that Md is too laid back to make the referral. He is very active and other wise normal.
1191795 tn?1264716227 57 yo retired mil with PTSD (field medic) and very rapid memory loss over past 3 months. I mean very rapid and getting worse. Taking Citalopram and Trazadone. Also increasing hand tremors. Tinnitus extreme with increase symptoms when moving eyes up, down L-R. No effect when eyes closed though.
Avatar m tn I have been taking Tegretol XR (carbemazipene) for several years now to treat partial frontal-lobe seizures. I have noticed an increase in memory loss. It has been remarked on at work where things have been brought up by my supervisors and co-workers that I have absolutely no memory of. Does Tegretol have an effect on memory? If so, is it reversible?
Avatar m tn i have been having some memory loss since my crash but i dont know if it is from medication cos i was only taking warfarin. at least that's all i remember taking.
612876 tn?1355518095 I'm 29 years old, and the onset of the brain fog/mental confusion/memory loss coincided with the onset of the dysautonomia at age 27 (with my first syncope/seizure). It has gotten much worse over time, and now has many of the characteristics of dementia with old age. Other examples: -Called 911 in an emergency. Couldn't remember own street name to give to operator. Had to go look at the sign. -When I forget things like my own address, they aren't just on the tip of my tongue.
Avatar n tn If anyone has a suggestion for a drug that helps with anxiety but has absolutely no correlation to memory loss (I'm talking about real-life experiences, not studies done funded by the drug companies). What alarms me is that I have seen some posts where people went off of Celexa and their 'brain fog' went away, but with others it stayed and their memory was permanently affected. I am hoping that the former is what happens most of the time.
202665 tn?1248810333 I experience some form of memory loss on antipsychotics but the medicine that really caused me to have that level of memory loss and confusion like you describe was Cogentin which can cause Alzheimer's-like side effects, although Cogentin isn't a psych med, it's a side effect pill. I don't know if psych meds can cause memory loss to that extent or not but I would bet it's possible although I would get other causes ruled out like you're doing.
Avatar f tn I have been on meds for bi-polar and have developed tremors and memory loss (phone #, SS# etc plus other). I have gotten off the meds, been a few days, and am scared that this will be a permanent change. Friends who hadn't seen me in months, came over recently and were shocked and concerned about me, telling me that I seemed like a zombie. My husband's friends are pulling him aside and asking what's wrong. This is NOT the normal me. The psych told me I could get off the meds, I kind of insisted.
Avatar n tn Hello, Im a 30 year old female who was devastated to recently find out that my loss of balance, short term memory loss and other issues were actually due to serotonin neurotoxicty from the Elavil and Lexapro and Ambien I was on.
Avatar m tn I have no history of hallucinations, and I'm trying to figure out if this is the new medication. Has anyone taking cymbalta had tactile hallucinations, or what were other peoples experience. Honestly, last night really freaked me out, and if it was the medication I am going to stop taking it immediately, so if anyone would share their experiences with me I would appreciate it.
398302 tn?1202274727 These are just as powerful for most people without the side affects. Like sweats, memory loss, lack of sex drive, etc...If I were you I'd try these first. I would love to be off the Zoloft. It is just too soon after being clean. The body is still trying to regulate itself.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, I'm still dizzy for a bit each day, have wicked/truly blinding migraines at least once a day, nauscious now and then, memory loss at times, etc. Problem is I'm also on other medications - Lamictal, Trazadone, ambien, protonix, lipitor, and norvasc...so symptoms can be one of those drugs or a combination...or Cymbalta alone. We are still working on the right combination of the right meds that help manage depression and BP II as well as making the side effects tolerable.
5082295 tn?1371254511 Hi all. Ive posted this question a few days ago & not many responses. 1st if you know me on this site im done detoxing from pain meds & now have been prescribed Cymbalta. Ill make it short. Im about 3 weeks or so into taking it & now im having horrible tremors, confusion and memory loss. I read these are rare but bad so I called the doc on call he just said..im not ur doc so all im gonna say is stop taking it (well duh of course im gonna do that)!
1490607 tn?1288383290 I have read so many side effects of Neurintin/Gabapentin. My memory loss has increased so bad that I am going ot wear a name tag soon.I am irritable, short tempered, cant sleep either. Does anybody else have this problem?Should I stop taking it and risk a seizure too?
3052462 tn?1340223481 I was recently on Cymbalta 60 mg daily, seemed to be tolerating it well, however, suddenly I began having falling spells, dizziness, memory loss, and total loss of bladder control. One day I forgot to take my Cymbalta and that day I no longer had a complete loss of balance. I went in to my doctor, he sent me for an MRI. I was diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus. My Question is: Is it possible that the Cymbalta caused me to GET the NPH or did it just push it to the forefront?
Avatar m tn I have been off these meds fro three weeks, severe mania anxiety, loss or disconnect of short term memory. Do not feel safe in public. WHAT TO DO ?
Avatar f tn My question is do others experience this extreme form of memory and concentration loss? Can depression really cause such poor memory? It feels like my brain is turning to mush. I am scared, suffering and so very tired of all of this. Any advice?
Avatar f tn We think the memory loss has increased, but it's kind of mixed up with the anxiety. We HOPE the memory loss is directly related to the Ambien, and being off of it will he return to 'normal'? We can deal with the anxiety, but not the memory loss.
Avatar n tn I have so many things going on that I'm not sure what the problem is. I have many symptoms, mental/head fogginess, sluggish memory, can't sleep thru the night, forgetfullness, always tired, overweight, can't concentrate, cry at the drop of a hat and the list goes on and on. I'm 46 and under alot of stress. I've also had a hysterectomy 3 years ago. I have gained weight and have a hard time trying to get if off.
Avatar n tn If somebody has a solution please share your secret. I have already tried Zoloft where it only gave me slurred speech and memory loss. Lexapro made me very angry and sleepy. I do not know any other medication to take. Please Help if you have an answer.
Avatar m tn Man those night sweets, nightmares, confusion, concentration, memory loss have me wondering if I have Alzehimer's (sp) .My disease has resulted in me being disabled and unable yo work. Filed for SSA Disability. Probably will deny. I was forgetting things at work. Also getting further and further behind in my paperwork. Lost my job. See, I am a nurse (RN ). After a while I was glad they terminated me for I couldn't and wouldn't live with myself had I caused any harm to anyone.
Avatar n tn I just cannot gain anymore weight ( I tried zoloft 5 yrs ago and gained 50 lbs in 3 months and still havent lost it) and really need a clear mind now.
497950 tn?1255867527 What hurt me, too, was coming down from the Cymbalta - had bad withdrawals. What helped me was to keep some food in there - soup, oatmeal, crackers, toast, and stay hydrated. Also, I didn't take the meds until night time and made sure I drank a glass of milk and ate SOMETHING with it. It's rough, but it gets better, I promise. When you go back for your meds check, make sure you tell your pdoc - he has me splitting my 150 into 100 and 50 at 2 different times now to avoid some of it.
Avatar n tn It should take about 2 months to get to that dosage but I'm getting kinda excited hearing about the benefit of weight loss especially since it was weight loss pills (metabolife and xenedrine) that caused me to find out that I was epileptic in the first place! The doctor told me that i might get tingling in my fingers and i might feel a little dopy but happy dopy he described it as, so I figure i can deal with that! If I start losing weight at a rapid pace i'll definitely post again!
