Cymbalta kidney disease

Common Questions and Answers about Cymbalta kidney disease

Avatar f tn DO NOT START CYMBALTA !!! If you go online and look at Cymbalta withdrawal you will be amazed. I have had 29 surgeries over the course of my life and have experienced some very severe pain including a thorotcotomy for spinal surgery, kidney stones, pelvic pain for numerous abdominal surgeries. I have weaned off of many narcotics over the years and have done OK by eating a very healthy diet, taking supplements, excercising, deep breathing and meditation along with praying.
714288 tn?1243257791 Yes you can take cymbalta with methadone, but I've heard that some ppl have a hard time getting off of cymbalta. I don't know anything about kidney problems with HepC other than they do exists sometimes. Maybe someone else will chime in for you. Just so you know, I really think I'm the only regular poster who takes methadone so we are in a special class.
Avatar m tn I have extremely high CRP levels, so high that my doctor said the nurse had never seen a 32 year old with my level before (whatever that means), my kidney level was high, my liver level was high, I am extremely B12 deficient (i do b12 injections) my doctor believes that the bells palsy i experienced was releated to the b12 deficiency. I have vitamin D deficiency...
Avatar f tn This is another reason why my prescription was changed to gabapentin because it is believed that the Cymbalta can also damage even further my kidneys. I would like to know if anyone else has been taking Cymbalta and has developed kidney damage. And also if another drug other than Lyrica works well without doing any type of kidney damage. Thank you all for your input.

Business man2 I try to have my patients take very little daily ibuprofen/naproxen as they can lead to kidney disease (based on total lifetime dose), ..."). While I realize there might be no connection, as luck would have it, last week my blood work came back with a "low-normal" kidney reading after having used ibuprofen regularly (4 OTC tabs once/day) for ONLY 1 YEAR !! ... prompting my Dr. to take me off ibuprofen and other NSAIDs.

Avatar n tn BUN and creatinine are a rough estimate of kidney function, but miss a lot. Hypertension and Diabetes are the most common causes for chronic kidney damage that leads to protein in the urine. I do not know what medications you are on for SFN, but the common ones including neurontin, lyrica, elavil, cymbalta do not cause any increase in urine protein. I would start by getting a simple urine dipstick test for protein.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy, probably due to my drugs I need to take for my Kidney Transplant or is a side effect of this disease, I am on Dilantin, one tablet twice a day, I have recently started Gym work and running, my pain is higher at night when I lay down in bed but recently it has escalated and it seem to be moving up my leg but only at night, during the day it is OK if I wear well cushioned shoes, it seems the closer to the surface you tread then the more I feel it.
Avatar m tn I went to my primary who suggested I go to my dentist to have him check it out, Saw him last Wednesday and he can find no gum disease, sores, loose fillings etc to cause this. I haven't called my neuro yet because sometimes I feel like a hypochondriac when it comes to ms but if I can't find some reason soon I'm going because this is unbearable and I can't imagine living the rest of my life like this.

Avatar m tn After about 7 days all those symptoms subsided except for the pain in the legs and feet which has lessened. I take neurontin, cymbalta and bp medicine. My lab work has all been normal except for B12 which was on the low normal side. It was repleted with weekly shots. Any suggestions as to what is happening and should I be looking at any other treatment options?
Avatar f tn I was passing out, sweating, shaking, vomiting, crying, because of the pain. I was put on cymbalta, valium, Norco, and a million other drugs. No one would do anything for me because they couldn't find anything wrong me. Then Shortly after I had to cysts pop up on right ovary and a few on my kidneys. Then a month later kidney stones. I seen specialist after specialist. Finally a OBGN decided to operate, she found massive amounts of scar tissue from my appendix erupting when I was two.
Avatar f tn I have previously been on here for coming off Percocet from a misdiagnosis of Crohns Disease. I was able to get off Percocet in 2009. Anyways, after being treated with Prednisone for 5 months my body was destroyed and my kidney ended up tearing through my periteneal cavity and into my abdomen.
Avatar f tn This is from about cymbalta and liver: "Postmarketing reports of liver injury (including hepatitis and cholestatic jaundice) suggest that patients with pre-existing liver disease who take [Cymbalta] may have an increased risk for further liver damage," says the FDA.
1686743 tn?1306009051 Do not take Lyrica if you have had kidney problems, or have had heart problem including heart failure. My CREAT was 1.31 and BUN 36 when she ordered it and she knew it. Currently I take 15 mg Morphine every 6 hrs. and 5mg oxycodone as needed for breakthrough . It's not doing the trick anymore. I need a raise. This prescription is a year plus old.. Thanks in advance for any replies in this issue....
685623 tn?1283485207 Pets ingesting small amounts of this medication can potentially be monitored at home, unless they have kidney failure or heart disease. All heart medications should be kept out of reach of pets. 8) Beta-blockers (e.g. Tenormin, Toprol, Coreg) Beta-blockers are also used to treat high blood pressure but, unlike the ACE inhibitor, small ingestions of these drugs may cause serious poisoning in pets. Overdoses can cause life-threatening decreases in blood pressure and a very slow heart rate.
Avatar f tn you have what is called medularry sponge kidney it means you will always have kidney stones. Here is a script for pain medicine so you don't have to go to the ER all the time." Then she walked out of the room. I was in shock when I went online and read that it means way more than being "more prone to have kidney stones.
Avatar f tn it hurts so bad when i wear any shoe ,if i do it has to be a sandal.even in the winter i have to wear this kind of shoe.
Avatar m tn They monitored my blood work and were careful not to prescribe any liver harming drugs, except for Cymbalta, which turns out to be a liver killer and a drug straight from the devil. Been off of the cymablta for 3 years. Skip to present day...2 weeks ago I got dizzy and went to the ER. A little heat prostration I assumed. They did blood work and found I had a platelet count of 50. They wouldn't let me go back to work until my PA cleared me. When I saw her she said ..
1469903 tn?1286650297 • Studies in type 1 patients have shown that in intensively treated patients, diabetic eye disease decreased by 76%, kidney disease decreased by 54%, and nerve disease decreased by 60%. More recently the EDIC trial has shown that type 1 diabetes is also associated with increased heart disease, similar to type 2 diabetes.
Avatar m tn No relief yet, but he said it would take a week for a lesion to grow on the nerve ending that is carrying pain signal to the brain, no other nerves that work the back are affected. I can't take NSAIDS because I had kidney disease, which really work so this was one of my last options. I'll repost in a week to let you know if it started working,.
Avatar m tn I have also tried lots of drugs neurotics, cymbalta, niacin, vitamins like the Bs and other. At is point not sure who else to talk to or what else to try, so any thoughts would be much appreciated:) Other issues: Migraines Link to other post I have made: http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn My blood tests show normal RF and ANA, neg for Lyme disease, so my primary doc wanted to proceed as if this is fibro. However, I don't react to the tender points, have no touch sensitivity, no muscle pain or soreness, etc. He has had me try two different antidepressants for pain.

688135 tn?1290783376 Since then i have tried to get back on track (or back to my life) but the best i could do is with a Urologist in Ann Arbor who is able to do the procedure that cleans out the openings entering into the kidney ( dont remember the tech term) I have had this done several times. I do have some relief and am currently not growing more stones, but have to contend with what's in there still.
Avatar f tn Gentamycin shots, Tobramycin shots, Hospitalization in August with Gentamycin and Tobramycin IV's, continued oral antibiotics, more Gentamycin shots, Tobramycin shots, Hospitalization in November with Amikacin IV through a PICC line and sent home with two weeks of Amikacin IV's through the PICC line. I saw an Infectious Disease Specialist and he advised me that I cannot have any more oral antibiotics for two years and was told I will have to be hospitalized.
Avatar n tn However, dr gave prescription for Neurontin which I did not like the way I felt and then tried me on Cymbalta. Cymbalta has dialed down pain from 8 to a 5/6 allowing me to sleep again. Everything goes poorly when you are sleep deprived. The cymbalta is used as an antidepressant as well as diabetic neuropathy. I have not had any problems with it-only good.
Avatar f tn things like that because it sounds like it could be some kind of autoimmune disease, etc. but definitely get thorough kidney testing and go from there, because blood in the urine is something to worry about.
