cymbalta

1360928 tn?1280203543 I go to see my ob on Wednesday of next week but and really stressed out and am finding myself constantly searching the internet for some answers. I have been on the medication cymbalta for almost 2 years now. This medication has literly taken my depression almost completely away. I have a history of severe depression and so does my family along with some other mental disorders.
Avatar n tn I was up all night running to the bathroom and was concerned when i looked up information on cymbalta that said not to open capsules. Did opening the capsules cause me to become ill or does this medication just not agree with me. I also felt unwell for a few days with stomach upset and sleeping too much with intense dreams and a foggy feeling in my head. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Hi clydo , yes , sweating profusely is a recognized adverse effect of Effexor. For more information check out the product information on the leaflet in the pack , or their website - there's a whole host of possible side effects.
739988 tn?1386672969 Anyway, I was sitting at my computer and glanced over and saw those information sheets the pharmacy gives you so I started reading the side effects portion of them. Well, for the Cymbalta, I saw that they can cause severe and persistent headaches. My question is, has anyone ever experienced this? Also, I've been on Cymbalta for a long while, could the side effect manisfest itself now?
Avatar n tn i was on cymbalta ever since it came out on the market which i think has been 6-7 years... my question is... when i was on cymbalta my blood pressure rose... about 5 weeks ago i got off of it cold turkey due to losing my health insurance and now i notice my blood pressure is low like 110/60 where as it used to be around 135/90.... is this normal and does thin mean i should cut back on the blood pressure medicine?
Avatar n tn Namaste, Cymbalta is an antidepressant in a group of drugs called selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SSNRIs). Cymbalta works by restoring the balance of certain natural substances in the brain (serotonin and norepinephrine), which helps to improve certain mood problems. Cymbalta is used to treat major depressive disorder and general anxiety disorder. It is also used to treat pain caused by nerve damage in people with diabetes (diabetic neuropathy).
Avatar n tn Hello there, Before you consider taking Cymbalta you might want to goggle it and find out its potential side effects. Some of them are quite serious.
Avatar m tn m worried that the combination of Cymbalta and Wellbutrin can cause this. Is the combintation of Cymbalta and Wellbutrin safe? Thanks very much!
233622 tn?1279334905 Hello LA, Thanks so much for the response to my rant yesterday. I feel better today. Still have the double vision but like always my friends here cheer me up. To answer your question. I was on Cymbalta for about 6 weeks. I asked to be taken off of it. It was making me feel strange. Very "short Fused", irritated, grouchy. I started taking Effexor when this started and I went back to it just a higher dose now. I have seen where people here have got on it and it has helped very well.
Avatar n tn and which stinks is my insurance doesnt even take cymbalta ...i wish they would realize that this is A REAL DISEASE...or illness ..I LIKE TO SLAP THE HECK OUT OF MY INSURANCE COMPANY :(..so sory i had to vent that lol....
Avatar n tn You just got some very good information from mistipip...wellbutrin is the one that everyone switches too. I don't have as much info re citalopram, but it is probably another.
Avatar m tn Cymbalta actually worked for me after I had a major back surgery...i had alot of nerve damage in my sciatic and the cymbalta helped me while they were doing procedures to ease the nerve pain such as epidurals and rfas...however getting off of it was not the easiest thing I ever had to do...my dr lowered the dose and got me off of it safely but I was still going through some moderate withdrawals like shaking and nausea but they only lasted a few weeks and I was fine afterward...
1360928 tn?1280203543 iv never even heard of cymbalta.
Avatar f tn I have recently started on cymbalta for PTSD and anxiety. I took two weeks at 30mg and now have been taking 60mg for almost two weeks although it seems to be helping me mentally I now have numbness in each of my fingers on both hands? Initially, my hands hurt bad and my fingers were swollen and felt like both hands had fallen asleep but couldnt wake up for like three days.
Avatar m tn I just had a blood test and the Dr. said it might be from the cymbalta that it is showing hep in the blood. Is there any one out there that would know what kind I would get from that and then would it be contagious. Thanks.....
Avatar n tn Considering you have been taking cymbalta for a few years I think it was EXTREMELY careless of your doctor to have you quit it cold turkey. You should have slowly tapered off of the cymbalta while tapering onto the prozac. Did you quit cold turkey because you couldn't afford one more refill to do a proper taper of the cymbalta?
735919 tn?1236444549 I have been on Cymbalta 90mg and when i started doing research the information that i found said that u can not take these two meds at the same time because it can cause potentially fatal Serotonin Syndrome. I told that to my pain dr but she stated that is not true and these two meds can be taken together because they go to different areas of the body or something like that. Can anyone please help me with the explaination of these two meds and give me advise as to what to do...
Avatar f tn Is there a reaction with your kidney's while being on Cymbalta? I've had major back pain for the past week and it even hurts when I breathe deeply or yawn.

Avatar n tn Can you take Cymbalta and Effexor together to treat Fibromyalgia, severe clinical depression, social anxiety and panic anxiety
Avatar f tn I've been on Cymbalta since around Christmas of 2013 and started at 20 mg. I've now been up to 90 mg for about 2 months now and have noticed twitching throughout my body; fingers, toes, feet, arms, legs and sometimes especially when i'm laying down or before bed, my whole body just jerks for about 3-5 seconds at a time, it feels so weird. Would this be related to Cymbalta? I've read into this on the internet and said it could be tardive dyskinesia.
Avatar n tn Would a combination of 500mg of zoloft + 600mg of cymbalta and 7.5 mg of klonipin be fatal?
405614 tn?1329144114 I checked out the links that patientx posted, and found many clinical trials listed, including Cymbalta. It was good to have the information, and I know to ask if I have to discontinue all pain meds before the trial. Just as Lulu said, I can't really guess which of the trials I'm going to be offered. I'll just have to take it as it comes. I wish I'd get that call! I'll let you all know.
