after a couples of years i ignored the indications having b12 ocasionally only. a year ago i devoloped pain all over my body, specially heels, ankles, gluteous area, sharp burning -like pain when flexing knees, shoulders, numbes and tingling at hands, leg and feet cramps, waking down stairs is painful. my doctor told me i had fibromialgia. (TESTED NEGATIVE TO LUPUS, RHEUMATIOD ARTHRITIS, INFLAMATION,) received treatment with cymbalta and lirica but no help.
My question is that for the past 3 or so years I have been taking Cymbalta for Fibro....which has been helpful. Then last year I started getting weird symptoms...My heart was racing, I felt like I the room was closing in on me, sweats, and gained about 30 lbs in the last yr. I thought maybe my dosage was off on the Cymbalta so my doctor increased it which I stopped as soon as I started...I felt it was not that.
s I have tried to help my conditions make my fibromyalgia etc..worse. I was excited about cymbalta but could not tolerate the side effects of this med although it was working on my fibro pain, anxiety etc....I also felt allergic to it, red eyes, rash,etc.. So now my shrink and rheumy are suggesting the new med Savella, to start at a very low dose which is 12.5 according to the titration pack.
Hi, My doctor wants to put me on cymbalta for nerve pain that I have been having from an injury I have from 2005. It's nerve pain from a fall I took. He says it will help to calm down the nerves and signals from my brain to help with the pain. The prescription is for 30mg, 1 tab a day then increase to 2 tabs and recheck with him in a month. I'm alittle scared to take this, as I have never had to go on this kind of medicene and I'm afraid what the side effects might do.
Only took Cymbalta for 3 months but had side effects of being off balance lightheaded feeling like I am walking in a boat now I being taken off the drug and having nightmares the sweats headaches anyone had this experience with this drug?
I have tried it all! Everybody is different. I am on 60mg of Cymbalta. I can't not take it though because it messes me up (if my insurance is messing around etc...) but if youre ready to be consistent, I'd try it.

That being said, her doctor was wise to switch her over to another medication like Cymbalta. 30Mgs of Cymbalta is a good starting point and this gives him option to ramp the dosage up as needed.
Regardless of this fact, Cymbalta, May or may not be an effective medication for her. I tried Cymbalta for 7 weeks at 60Mgs per day (after 4 years on Effexor) and in my case it did NOTHING to help with my condition.
Cymbalta made my depression worse and made me pretty nauseated. But then, I never do respond to psychotropic drugs or antidepressants very well.
My Dr. wanted me to try low dose Cymbalta for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and did not have the 30 mg samples so i was given the 60 mg with instructions to empty the capsules into food, as this would reduce the dose by approximately half. I became very ill with vomiting and severe diarreah. I was up all night running to the bathroom and was concerned when i looked up information on cymbalta that said not to open capsules.
I had insomnia and fibromyalgia. My doctor put me on Cymbalta. He said it would help me with sleep and pain. It was 2 weeks of hell, no sleep and constant pain and I wanted to kill myself!!! I was not depressed and have no history of depression. my doctor switched me to amitriptyline. It helps with sleep but not pain, I would never recommend Cymbalta to anyone !
