The only medication I was taking was Zoloft (which I loved). I was switched to Cymbalta (which I loved too) but developed the same rash. My doctor put me on Wellbutrin which just isn't enough for me. It does not give me the rash. She added Effexor recently and my rash returned. She wants me to see a psychiatrist for medication help but so far none I have contacted have any appointments available.

Also, Cymbalta and anavin that you are taking for depression can cause occurrence of hives in some patient.
First of all, the cause of allergy (allergen) has to be found out. For that, skin ***** tests or blood tests like (RAST) have to be performed. In this a small amount of allergen is injected in the skin of the forearm and response of the skin is seen. If there is redness and erythema then the skin is allergic to that allergen.
Also get your T3, T4 and TSH levels evaluated.
I tried weaning off of it (I had tried a couple of times before that) and ended up having frequent sad thoughts after the weaning process. My doctor gave me Cymbalta. I loved the way it made me feel (ignoring the 10 pounds I gained and the frequent night drenching/insomnia). I began horrible anal/vaginal itching that lead to all over body itching. The itching seems to start every night around 5:00. It took me 5 months to determine it was the Cymbalta.

Such a rash which appears and disappears is due to hives. Hives have a tendency to change size rapidly and to move around, disappearing in one place and reappearing in other places, often in a matter of hours.
Many cases of hives are "idiopathic," meaning no cause is known. Others may be triggered by viral infections or medications. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin.
Hi, My doctor wants to put me on cymbalta for nerve pain that I have been having from an injury I have from 2005. It's nerve pain from a fall I took. He says it will help to calm down the nerves and signals from my brain to help with the pain. The prescription is for 30mg, 1 tab a day then increase to 2 tabs and recheck with him in a month. I'm alittle scared to take this, as I have never had to go on this kind of medicene and I'm afraid what the side effects might do.
Only took Cymbalta for 3 months but had side effects of being off balance lightheaded feeling like I am walking in a boat now I being taken off the drug and having nightmares the sweats headaches anyone had this experience with this drug?
I have tried it all! Everybody is different. I am on 60mg of Cymbalta. I can't not take it though because it messes me up (if my insurance is messing around etc...) but if youre ready to be consistent, I'd try it.

That being said, her doctor was wise to switch her over to another medication like Cymbalta. 30Mgs of Cymbalta is a good starting point and this gives him option to ramp the dosage up as needed.
Regardless of this fact, Cymbalta, May or may not be an effective medication for her. I tried Cymbalta for 7 weeks at 60Mgs per day (after 4 years on Effexor) and in my case it did NOTHING to help with my condition.
Cymbalta made my depression worse and made me pretty nauseated. But then, I never do respond to psychotropic drugs or antidepressants very well.
My Dr. wanted me to try low dose Cymbalta for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and did not have the 30 mg samples so i was given the 60 mg with instructions to empty the capsules into food, as this would reduce the dose by approximately half. I became very ill with vomiting and severe diarreah. I was up all night running to the bathroom and was concerned when i looked up information on cymbalta that said not to open capsules.
I had insomnia and fibromyalgia. My doctor put me on Cymbalta. He said it would help me with sleep and pain. It was 2 weeks of hell, no sleep and constant pain and I wanted to kill myself!!! I was not depressed and have no history of depression. my doctor switched me to amitriptyline. It helps with sleep but not pain, I would never recommend Cymbalta to anyone !
