cymbalta

Avatar f tn Hello. I'm 23 and I have PTSD. I use to take cymbalta which worked well for me but my insurance no longer covers it, which means it's over $1,000. Obviously being a full time student I cannot afford this. Does anyone know of anything natural I can take daily that will help? I have nightmares every night and keep my poor boyfriend up. And I'm getting worried that I may be developing sleep walking behavior. I don't want to feel out of it, and like I said I'm low on funds.
Avatar f tn Pls ppl, Do not go onto any dose of Cymbalta w/o investigating it thoroughly. Thr is no exit strategy for Cymbalta and its half-life is only 12hrs; IOW, u cld be on Cymbalta 20mg for the rest of yr life b/c u cn't functn w/o it. Most of the ppl who hv tried to wean thmslvs off Cymbalta face awful serotonin w/drawal symptoms. It is not unusual tht Cymbalta patients hv broken the 20mg capsule and eliminated 1-2 pebbles (out of abt 50 in each capsule) per wk. it's a complete nightmare.
Avatar f tn My son was murdered in Jan, 2005 and I've since been treated and diagnosed with PTSD - however, I was previously being treated for depression. When I was tested last year the psychologist stated that I had severe depression, with PTSD & severe anxiety and panic disease with possible OCD and maybe some personality disorder.
Avatar f tn I have recently started on cymbalta for PTSD and anxiety. I took two weeks at 30mg and now have been taking 60mg for almost two weeks although it seems to be helping me mentally I now have numbness in each of my fingers on both hands? Initially, my hands hurt bad and my fingers were swollen and felt like both hands had fallen asleep but couldnt wake up for like three days.
Avatar n tn My psychiatrist prescribed 90 mg. Cymbalta, 300 mg. of Wellbutrin and then, 50 mg. Trazadone before bed. After reading quite a bit, I am concerned it it is safe to take the Trazadone with these other drugs. This is not a new psychiatrist. I have seen her for the past three years and I suffer from severe depression, PTSD, anxiety disorder and possible agorophobia. I just want to make certain I am safe!

712802 tn?1274645485 Combining Cymbalta and Abilify is not a problem. I was on both for about 2 years, before changing Cymbalta for another antidepressant. Yes, Abilify can, but only definitely, cause a movement disorder called akathisia. It causes a restless feeling which could cause you to need to pace, or cross and uncross your legs... something like that. I did get akathisia but opted to stay on Abilify because it helped me so much.

1442059 tn?1340240952 I was on Cymbalta for 5 months. Only side-effects I had was nausea for about 1 week then it went away. Cymbalta was very energetic and helped me going thru the hard time I was dealing when my mom had cancer. When she passed I stopped cold turkey and had brain zaps for 1 month. This drug is very potent and can work very well but it's not a cheap drug and cost a lot. I was very active while being on Cymbalta (going to the gym 3-4 times a week and jogging 45 min everyday) and very outgoing.
1809911 tn?1332687902 I was on Zoloft and was in need of an increase in dosage (was on for over a year at same dosage) and my PCP switched me to Cymbalta, after I pleaded with her to just increase my Zoloft (as it has been working fine with me). She ignored me and thus the Cymbalta was started...with hestitation from myself. Because my body reacts so differently than most to meds...I was afraid...and was discovered why. After 2 weeks on Cymbalta...
Avatar f tn I used to take Cymbalta (Duloxetine) for sleeping problems associated with depression; Cymbalta should never be given to people with anxiety! As that would just make the anxiety worse... the same reason why people with mania such as Bipolar sufferers shouldn't take the stuff. Also, I struggled to hell with the side effects of Cymbalta! Coming off of the stuff took me MONTHS - though that is an extreme example, apparently most don't get such issues.

Avatar f tn Could anyone tell me if they have gotten Duvanta-30 as a generic for cymbalta? Due to the money crunch we have had to look to the canadian drug companys for my husbands meds that he takes, and when I ordered the cymbalta that is what they sent, and when I questioned it they said it was the same... So a little feed back would be great. thanks.

Avatar m tn Cymbalta actually worked for me after I had a major back surgery...i had alot of nerve damage in my sciatic and the cymbalta helped me while they were doing procedures to ease the nerve pain such as epidurals and rfas...however getting off of it was not the easiest thing I ever had to do...my dr lowered the dose and got me off of it safely but I was still going through some moderate withdrawals like shaking and nausea but they only lasted a few weeks and I was fine afterward...
8496079 tn?1398412516 I take cymbalta for the pain in my hips. I find it works relatively well.
Avatar n tn I have really struggled with fibromyalgia for the last 5 years along with a milld chronic fatigue my doctor put me onto Cymbalta. This did seem to work and noted that the pain in my muscles was quite bearable. Now having been on it for the last 3 years I think it has stopped working, I am experiencing severe depression when previously I wasn't depressed. If I double my dosage of Cymbalta I feel fantastic.
177382 tn?1253041140 Cymbalta has been approved by the FDA for use as a treatment for FM. I'm on Wellbutrin for depression and Topamax for migraines. Due to the FM I still have breakthrough neurological symptoms or should I say neuralgic pain in my neck head face and fibro pain throughout the rest of my body. I do believe Cymbalta will help with my symptoms. My only concern is that I am on Wellbutrin already plus, I did not do well on Effexor which is another SNRI but a little different than Cymbalta.
Avatar n tn I use Cymbalta for abdomen, neck and hand pain and Fibromyalgia. It does a good job for me. There are some unpleasant side effects such as nausea and being light headed upon standing being the worst for me. I tried Neurontin and Lyrica. I couldn't take the side effects from either of those two. I've experienced life without Cymbalta. Without it my pains levels are considerably higher. My mood is much better on it.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been perscribed Paroxetine for their neuropothy symptoms? I saw my physiatrist last week for the increasing pain I am having related to my syrinx. He advised me to check back in with my NS, and gave me a script for Cymbalta. Apparently, this anti-depressant also works on nerves. I'm definitely not a depressed person - so I had my reservations for Cymbalta, but the pharmacist re-assured me that my dr prescribed it for neuro issues.
Avatar f tn I started Cymbalta 8 to 8 days ago for MDD and Gad with obsessive thoughts. And now tapering Effexor gradually. I didn't see improvement till now and feel very depressed and feel like my head is going to explode cz of the thoughts and the continuously feeling down with no interest or motivation to do anything in life. Do I need to wait for Cymbalta more or shall I consult my doctor to change it? And is it effective with treatment resistant cases as iam a treatment resistant case?
