I haven't tried either Cymbalta or Luvox but I think you need to weigh the pros and the cons. Is your mental health stability worth 15 pounds because if I'm reading this correctly the Cymbalta is working for you. I know it stinks to gain weight and you have worked hard to lose it. It is really up to you. If Luvox doesn't have that side effect, then it may be worth a try. Good luck and sorry I couldn't be of more help.

i recently have posted a few blogs on here regarding zoloft and have taken up the issues with my doc and they switched me to cymbalta. they feel that cymbalta is more for anxiety issues then zoloft. i am on day 3 and feel good. my doc had me not take my zoloft for one night and start the cymbalta the next night. my thing is that i can't get out of my head that antidepressants cause suicidal thoughts. i am always asking myself am i ok am i going to kill myself.
I was prescribed Cymbalta 30 mg 2 yrs ago after suffering from anxiety and OCD. It worked so well I told everyone that if I knew I would die 2 yrs earlier because of the meds I would still take it because it helped so much. Well 3 months ago it hit worse than before I started the meds. I was serverly depressed and wanted to end it. Went to the doctor she than gave me 60 mg that it was going to help but here I am again 2 months later crying uncontrollably wanting the pain and thoughts to go away.
I may not be able to answer it effectively. Cymbalta is not for muscle spasms. It is used off label to help with pain management regardless if you have anxiety or depression issues.
Have they prescribed a muscle relaxant for you? That's the usual choice in managing spasms. If not, why not?
I apologize that I know nothing about natural remedies. You might want to try acupuncture. It was an acupuncturist that suggest what she believed to be the right supplements to help pain and spasms.
They thought it was a form of fibro and they put her on Lyrica
I used to be so depressed. My therapist said it was the worst depression he has ever seen. I've gotten so much better. I'm doing well. So why do I still think about suicide? Why do I still sometimes think life isn't worth it? Why do I still fantasize about death? I won't kill myself because I know that will devastate my friends and family. Are these thoughts reflective of my true feelings or am I just having uncontrollable thoughts? OCD thoughts?
A few years back the panic attacks started, I went on Cymbalta, it helped a lot. I went off (VERY SLOWLY) and still had bad withdrawal symptoms (felt like killing myself, but knew intellectually why so I was able to overcome), once that part was over I was really good for about a year. Then about a month ago, I had another panic attack, then a few more. Then about a week ago- wham! Debilitating anxiety, esp. in the morning.I don't want to leave the house.
Could anyone tell me if they have gotten Duvanta-30 as a generic for cymbalta? Due to the money crunch we have had to look to the canadian drug companys for my husbands meds that he takes, and when I ordered the cymbalta that is what they sent, and when I questioned it they said it was the same... So a little feed back would be great.

3 weeks ago to Pristiq 50mg. The first week I took 30mg Cymbalta then 2nd week and since, no Cymbalta and only Pristiq (still taking buspar & Xanax prn)
I feel I'm noticing small improvements in the past cpl weeks but not back to normal. Today is a rough day with anxiety/adrenaline/agitation. I so want outta this hole and praying it works for me.
Anyone else have success switching to Pristiq? Would like to hear how long it took for ppl to notice a difference.
I have minor OCD with some anxiety. I take Cymbalta and a little klonipin for it and the combination has worked great. I found the klonipin works well for anxiety. When I first started it I had to keep upping the dosage then I stayed at the same dose for a while and then without really paying attention to what I was doing I've lowered the dose I'm taking to a low maintenance dose....and that I can always up if I feel more anxious. It's worked well for me. Just a thought.
I am on cymbalta and had been for about 7 yrs when i quit cold turkey. I had the symptoms you had ,maybe not to your degree. But was very emotional and irrable and brain frizzes. I mad it 21 days and decied screw this and start taking again. Next time i may taper very slowly. But becareful. Why did you quit? And maybe you could just take one anti depressant?
Cymbalta actually worked for me after I had a major back surgery...i had alot of nerve damage in my sciatic and the cymbalta helped me while they were doing procedures to ease the nerve pain such as epidurals and rfas...however getting off of it was not the easiest thing I ever had to do...my dr lowered the dose and got me off of it safely but I was still going through some moderate withdrawals like shaking and nausea but they only lasted a few weeks and I was fine afterward...
I also feel extreme guilt for checking out other girls out. I know it’s normal, and I would never cheat on my girlfriend or anything, but I still feel guilty. I love her more than anything, and I feel like death right now. I have had this only a few times before and it usually lasts a few weeks and goes away on it’s own. My therapist says it’s because I love her so much, that I get scared. It really hurts to feel numb towards the person that means absolutely everything to you.
I have had 2 serious depression episodes in my life and have had OCD symptoms here and there throughtout my life too. I am currently taking Cymbalta (have been for 8 months) and Wellbutrin XL for 2 years. Before the Cymbalta, I was taking Prozac for 11 years. I feel that the Prozac helped me better, but I feel it lost its effectiveness after all those years taking it. When I was first put on Prozac, I was in a deep depression. I could barely function.
