cymbalta

358486 tn?1294776388 Pain is much improved already, however, I have always had insomnia and that is getting worse. Trying to stick it out for another two weeks or so and see if it gets better. Cymbalta is the other one that I have read is helpful to some. I have also tried antiseizure drugs such as Lyrica and Gabapentin. No luck with either but have read some people are helped. Just be careful and do your research before starting any new treatment. I find the doctors are often not that informed with drugs.
1348086 tn?1370783185 Prozac tends to be better for depression than for anxiety, but then, so is Cymbalta, since both are also stimulating (Cymbalta much more so). On the other hand, if Prozac works, it's probably the least troublesome of all these meds. Cymbalta is liver toxic for many and one of the hardest to get off of, while Prozac is one of the easiest to come off of since it stays in the body for a lot longer time and therefore the withdrawal is, for most people, slower and easier.
983594 tn?1249672009 I have been on Xanax (3mg) and cymbalta (60mg) for about 9 months now. Being on these meds, my anxiety has gone down by a lot... but the other day I had a horrible panic attack that put me in the hospital after calling 911 thinking i was going to die. Even on these meds, how can I get the anxiety to STOP!!??
Avatar f tn slowly withdrawing fomr Cymbalta -- had been at 60mg for a few months, and have taken another few months to get off after gaining 10 pounds and recognizing that the gain came from the pills. I am experiencing electrical shocks running through my body, shooting across my brain, in seconds, but over and over. Should i take some grains of Cymbalata to alleviate these symptoms?
Avatar f tn Two of the more common side effects of Cymbalta are insomnia and fatigue. Many of the common side effects of medications go away when our body has adjusted to the medication. How long have you been taking it? It can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks for the Cymbalta to work, so if you've been on it less than that amount of time, I would stick it out and see if the exhaustion goes away. If it doesn't, then obviously you need to see your doctor to discuss this.
Avatar f tn Could anyone tell me if they have gotten Duvanta-30 as a generic for cymbalta? Due to the money crunch we have had to look to the canadian drug companys for my husbands meds that he takes, and when I ordered the cymbalta that is what they sent, and when I questioned it they said it was the same... So a little feed back would be great. thanks.
Avatar n tn I'm still new to cymbalta but not new to anti-depressants. I've learned over the years that side effects are different for everyone and not to judge a medication based on that. Possible side effects doesn't mean one will get all of them (which is what I tended to focus on). While being on Cymbalta, the one side effect I've noticed is insomnia. For the first little while I had nausea but that's gone away.
Avatar f tn However anyone can react to a drug diffrent than others have, so a follow up blood test is always recommended. I do however know of one drug, Cymbalta, has been flaged by the FDA as not safe for anyone with liver disease. A letter went out by the drug company telling doctors not to treat patients who have liver disease with cymbalta. This might be an over reaction from the FDA but thats another story. On the other side I read a report on Lexapro as safe and Pristiq as safe.
611606 tn?1315517767 I am so disappointed. I have been on Cymbalta for three weeks for the awful internal nerve pain I have been living with for almost four years now. On a daily bases. The first two weeks I was on 30mg once a day, this made me feel very drugged for about three doses and it also messed up my vision where my eyes could not focus and vision was very blurry the from the end of the second week I noticed a bit less pain, not a lot but some.
Avatar n tn Hi Stacey, I have been taking Cymbalta for about fours now for anxiety and I have to say that It has not been that effective for me, I am currently in talks with my Phychiatrist about changing it. They feel that I should stay on it for longer to see the results but in my opinion four months should be long enough for something to work if it is going to.
233622 tn?1279334905 Hello LA, Thanks so much for the response to my rant yesterday. I feel better today. Still have the double vision but like always my friends here cheer me up. To answer your question. I was on Cymbalta for about 6 weeks. I asked to be taken off of it. It was making me feel strange. Very "short Fused", irritated, grouchy. I started taking Effexor when this started and I went back to it just a higher dose now. I have seen where people here have got on it and it has helped very well.
596143 tn?1226648054 I took blood for tests and put me on cymbalta for the time being. I am now tappering off my Effexor and up to 60 mg of the cymbalta. I haven't gotten the test results back yet. anyway, my question is--Has anyone had luck with cymbalta? And does cymbalta work for fibro and cfs? Why isn't he referring me to a neuro or a pain mgmt doc?
Avatar f tn In animal studies, when rabbits were given Cymbalta during early pregnancy, the baby rabbits weighed less. When rats were given Cymbalta during pregnancy and breastfeeding, the baby rats weighed less and were less likely to survive. In humans, there have been reports of problems in newborn babies born to mothers who were taking medications similar to Cymbalta. These problems can be as minor as irritability or as serious as seizures or lung problems.
Avatar m tn Cymbalta actually worked for me after I had a major back surgery...i had alot of nerve damage in my sciatic and the cymbalta helped me while they were doing procedures to ease the nerve pain such as epidurals and rfas...however getting off of it was not the easiest thing I ever had to do...my dr lowered the dose and got me off of it safely but I was still going through some moderate withdrawals like shaking and nausea but they only lasted a few weeks and I was fine afterward...

1442059 tn?1340240952 I was on Cymbalta for 5 months. Only side-effects I had was nausea for about 1 week then it went away. Cymbalta was very energetic and helped me going thru the hard time I was dealing when my mom had cancer. When she passed I stopped cold turkey and had brain zaps for 1 month. This drug is very potent and can work very well but it's not a cheap drug and cost a lot. I was very active while being on Cymbalta (going to the gym 3-4 times a week and jogging 45 min everyday) and very outgoing.
8496079 tn?1398412516 I take cymbalta for the pain in my hips. I find it works relatively well.
396332 tn?1320003615 You probably won't notice much change for the first 2-4-5 weeks. They've never worked for me so I can't really say how you are going to feel.....hopefully MUCH better though!
11197441 tn?1416125474 I missed one and could not get another till the beginning of this month. So I been without Cymbalta for a couple weeks before I finally got to see my Dr. Again, he actually asked if I wanted to get back.on it. Don't get me wrong, for the first week on Cymbalta I felt awesome! I wasn't brain foggy, i didn't sleep too much and I got stuff done.
Avatar f tn But once it is fully out of your system, side effects associated with it should become less and less until it is fully gone. How long has it been since you stopped the med? That is key. Also, there are other depression medications that work with fewer side effects. Talk to your doctor if you still need help with that Remeron with Wellbutrin is a combination that has few sexual side effects and works pretty well that I've read about.
Avatar n tn I use Cymbalta for abdomen, neck and hand pain and Fibromyalgia. It does a good job for me. There are some unpleasant side effects such as nausea and being light headed upon standing being the worst for me. I tried Neurontin and Lyrica. I couldn't take the side effects from either of those two. I've experienced life without Cymbalta. Without it my pains levels are considerably higher. My mood is much better on it.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been perscribed Paroxetine for their neuropothy symptoms? I saw my physiatrist last week for the increasing pain I am having related to my syrinx. He advised me to check back in with my NS, and gave me a script for Cymbalta. Apparently, this anti-depressant also works on nerves. I'm definitely not a depressed person - so I had my reservations for Cymbalta, but the pharmacist re-assured me that my dr prescribed it for neuro issues.
Avatar f tn I started Cymbalta 8 to 8 days ago for MDD and Gad with obsessive thoughts. And now tapering Effexor gradually. I didn't see improvement till now and feel very depressed and feel like my head is going to explode cz of the thoughts and the continuously feeling down with no interest or motivation to do anything in life. Do I need to wait for Cymbalta more or shall I consult my doctor to change it? And is it effective with treatment resistant cases as iam a treatment resistant case?
