cymbalta for headaches

Does cymbalta cause weight gain? The doctor wants me to take it for chronic headaches but 5 years ago I took Lexapro and that made me gain weight! Help!

I started with pain to touch on right side of spine and now very sore to touch on only top part of legs. Also, started having headaches on right side. They have tried Cymbalta and now Savella and it doesn't seem to be working. The soreness to touch is getting worse. Is there something I could suggest to the dr. to try?

t have luck with either one. Cymbalta had more side effects for me than Gabapentin. You can try Cymbalta, but the withdrawal is terrible. Be careful !!!

I am taking Cymbalta for pain management, Due to back surgey spinal stenosis, will it cause headache and earringing?

My neurologist put me on Cymbalta 2wks ago actually for the primary reason of chronic headaches/migraines. However, since he knew that I battled anxiety as well, he said that's why he chose "that one" b/c he said it's very good for anxiety too (one stop shop). In addition, I've been taking Neurontin x3 daily again for headaches but noticed it's helped "calm" me down. He told me to take cymbalta @ night (b/c my head hurts on the pillow).

I stop taking cymbalta about a week ago. Since then I have experienced headaches and nausea is this common? I was taking 60mgs for about a year for my fibromaylga.

I have had daily headaches for well over a couple years. Four to five years ago my doc thought they were migraines and I took Imitrex about once every 2 weeks. Then I started getting a worse headache from the Imitrex, like my entire head was supersensitive, my hair hurt. He sent me to a neurologist who diagnosed occiptal neuralgia. That doc has been giving me botox injections in my neck and prescribed Lyrica. I can't afford the Lyrica -- its $300 a month.

I have had headaches for as long as I can remember. I find relief by taking Ibuprofen at the onset of each headache. I suspect that after many years of taking Ibuprofen that my liver isn't too happy. Anyway, the reason I am writing here is it feels as though many of my headaches originate somehow from the spine. I can sit certain ways and actually cause my head to hurt. Then I can move back the other direction and the headache will subside.

Hi, I have been on Cymbalta 60gm for almost 7 years and when I lost my health insurance for a few years, it was extremely expensive to have cymbalta without insurance---14 pill for $80.00. So I know where you are coming from. The longest I went without is 4-5 days and I felt dizzy, empty minded, had to really think before talking, major sweating at night, and crying all day or most the day. I have heard antidepressants are the hardest to get off of.

I was on depakote for about 2 weeks and then stopped it due to bad depression,I have been having the wierdest headaches,i started cymbalata bout 4 days ago wondering if its from stoppping depakote or the cymbalta,,i forgot the cymbalta last night ,not so bad headache but i sure have alot of confusiona nd blurry eyes and still depression actully feel like im dying,,,,anyone ever stop depakore after such a short time i was on low dose

I have experienced this myself. I have never had Cymbalta either. They have me on Keppra for Fibro, and Zoloft for depression. I don't like taking them but we have to do what is best for our bodies. Be patient. Easier said than done, but give the med's a chance to get into your symptom. I know on my good day's I over do it and then I pay for it for the next few day's so I suggest you to do thing's in moderation.

I have taken topamax for headaches. I get horrible headaches because of 2 herniated disks and it is commonly prescribed to treat them. vicuser was right. The drug was originally developed for seizures. It may help you but I want to warn you about some of the side effects! One is that it causes weight loss. I knew that at the time and thought "great" but it got out of hand. I am 5 foot 6 and got down to 95 pounds.

I was on Prozac for over 10 years with great results. When I started having headaches again, the first the Dr flew to was the Prozac and said I had been on it too long and it was not effective any longer. Since that time, it's been 6 months of daily headaches and countless medications and nothing has completely stopped them. At this time I started out with Cymbalta 30 mg for 6 weeks and am now up to 60mg daily and I can notice a slight improvement.

I tried it a while back before I had constant pain. It was prescribed for anxiety, occasional pain in my shoulder, and headaches. I found that it didn't help me much and gave me more headaches but it may have been the combination of the cymbalta and the paxil I was taking at that time.

Candy, I was on cymbalta for pain a while back. It worked great for me but I got headaches on a daily basis so my neuro took me off of it. I loved it for the pain though. The meds wont interfere with your injections. Your neuro has a list of all your meds and I am sure he/she is making sure that the combinations are safe. It is crazy all the meds we end up taking.

And no I have never been officially diagonosed with depression, but lately I have been feeling down because of all the pain I have been feeling. I am on Cymbalta, not for depression, but for the pain, and Propanolol, for a rapid heart rate and thryoid med for hypothryoidism. I really feel like I have tried everything. Combining Cymbalta and Abilify is not a problem. I was on both for about 2 years, before changing Cymbalta for another antidepressant. Yes, Abilify can, but only definitely, cause a movement disorder called akathisia. It causes a restless feeling which could cause you to need to pace, or cross and uncross your legs... something like that. I did get akathisia but opted to stay on Abilify because it helped me so much.

Could anyone tell me if they have gotten Duvanta-30 as a generic for cymbalta? Due to the money crunch we have had to look to the canadian drug companys for my husbands meds that he takes, and when I ordered the cymbalta that is what they sent, and when I questioned it they said it was the same... For 2 days now i have been on 30 mg of Cymbalta this morning my blood pressure and heartrate are doing odd things,i was only on lexapro about 8 days 4 days at 10 mg then down to 5 mg taper i stopped it wed night im wonderign if teh Cymbalta mght be doing this to my blood pressure and heart rate usually my heart rate has been in70s going up over 100 today and i feel all nervous and shaley and kinda dizzy and faint,i put a call into on call dr and the pahrmacy has anyone out there benn on cymblata

I missed one and could not get another till the beginning of this month. So I been without Cymbalta for a couple weeks before I finally got to see my Dr. Again, he actually asked if I wanted to get back.on it. Don't get me wrong, for the first week on Cymbalta I felt awesome! I wasn't brain foggy, i didn't sleep too much and I got stuff done.

I cant take any medicine for anxiety i tryed lexepro, cymbalta, koplin, etc..but i would always get racing heart beat hot flashes headaches and so on. So what i did i gave up on meds and just let it be. I was fighting it for about 5 month, i would go and exercice, be with friends, go shopping, go to work. I 23 and have been suffering from pain for a very long time, and all other symptoms associated with fibromyalgia.recently a doctor decided it was fibromyalgia. I have started on Cymbalta 4 weeks ago, 60mg and have found no pain releif, but have found that im getting some energy back. A physician may be able to prescribe you some Requip for the restless leg syndrome, Neurontin for agitation and malaise, and possibly something like Seroquel low dose for the insomnia. I promise you will be feeling better and better every day. It may take months to actually feel great again.

For personal experience I can tell you that Cymbalta does cause withdrawal symptoms (abstinence syndrome). I was on Cymbalta for 6 months as prescribed for my Psychiatrist, after that I decided to do some research about possible withdrawal symptoms because my bad experience with lexapro in 2005. I found that Cymbalta can cause severe symptoms from withdrawal abruptly.

I've been on Cymbalta since it first came out. I take it for my depression and fibromyalgia. I have not had any side effects other than weird abnormal dreams when I was prescribed 60mg. My doctor reduced my dose to 30mg and it works great. I know another drug now being prescribed is Lyrica (gabepentin) for chronic pain. It is now FDA approved to treat Fibromyalgia.
