Hi, I do not have a fibro or CFS dx, but have chronic Lyme which has a good amount of symptom overlap. While undiagnosed, I was treated with meds including Neurontin and Lyrica. I recently saw a new TV commercial for Lyrica. I've never liked these commercials as they seem to minimize the problem and severity of fibro by showing patients resuming active lives thanks to this medication. One I saw in the past depicted a woman working in a bakery.

It was probably the commercial for the walk for Conquer Chiari. I looked on the Web Site and there are actually 3 walks scheduled in WV! I'm amazed! http://www.conquerchiari.org/ccwaa/sites-2014.

If you have ever seen the commercial on TV, it clearly states bleeding can occur if you take Cymbalta with an NSAID. Well I suffered horrible diarrhea and couldn't continue on with the treatment and I didn't even know about the increased bleeding risk. There is always a normal bleeding risk with NSAIDs- well with Cymbalta and NSAIDs together it increased even more! My doctor must not have realized this interaction.

I've been suffering for so long with this depression, I've just about given up. All the meds I'm on and I feel the same. I'm able to do what I need to do to get by, but I'm definitely not myself. I wake up dreading the day and wondering how I'm going to make it through. I try to get out and walk my dog every day and do things to stay in a routine. It doesn't help that my husband's been laid off for 18 months.

One thing i can tell you is that whith Cymbalta, healthy diet and exercise my anxiety and depression is gone. Not that effective for the occipital neuralgia tho. When i started it i had the common nausea side-effect and it was gone after 1 week. Then after taking it for a month i stopped it cold turkey to see what happens ( yeah I'm a tester lol ) and i had no withdrawal effects but after 1.

My current doctor says she is afraid to try anything else, I am out of doctors in the tri-state area willing to try to treat me. I am desperate for help and can feel myself slipping back into depression. In 2009 about 4 months after the episode I admitted myself to a psych tx facility and was there for a month. I do not want to end up back there again. I have tried all the drugs in the lithium categories, plus; Welbutrin (was on for about a yr and asked for adjustments added trileptal and bam!

There is a commercial on TV that states 50% of people with coronary heart disease die within 5 years - is that statistic accurate? I am trying to reduce sugars from my diet but struggle with that as I am an emotional eater. I've read your earlier responses suggesting reducing stress but my job involves stress and I can't just quit my job. I am anxious and fearful any time a new pain occurs within my body thinking it could be a blood clot. Is depression/anxiety after surgery common?

I was on Cymbalta for 5 months. Only side-effects I had was nausea for about 1 week then it went away. Cymbalta was very energetic and helped me going thru the hard time I was dealing when my mom had cancer. When she passed I stopped cold turkey and had brain zaps for 1 month. This drug is very potent and can work very well but it's not a cheap drug and cost a lot. I was very active while being on Cymbalta (going to the gym 3-4 times a week and jogging 45 min everyday) and very outgoing.

I'm SORRY but WHO the HELL created that youtube video?????????????? EVERY ONE of OUR bodies IS different! What works for some; doesn't for others. And as i'm stating my opinion (we all are entitled to our own) it's REALLY helped me. And i'm SORRY Cymbalta hasn't worked for some. I DO have REAL depression & Prozac made me a FLAT out physco, suicidal ***** from hell. Lexapro, Celexa & paxil DIDN"T work for me & i gained over 10 lbs. w/ a quickness.

That commercial drives my dog insane. Everytime it comes on she runs up to the tv and barks like a crazy animal!!! It is very cute, but like I said my shi-tzu does not agree!!!!!!!!

I've been on Cymbalta now for about a year. It has helped my depression and my energy levels. I'm bipolar also, so I'm on lithium. Without the lithium I felt anxious also. I'm on 60mg. of Cymbalta. At one time my doc didn't think the Cymbalta was working and I went down to 30mg. My depression got worse so I went back upto 60. I am feeling much better with the added lithium, my mood is much more even.

Recently on the TV I have seen a commercial about a syndrome called PBA. I don't exactly know what it stands for but it says it affects people with Alzheimer's, Dementia, Brain Trauma or MS. From the way it described on TV it is the sudden uncontrollable laughing or crying for no reason. Can anyone tell me what PBA is and is it fixable or controllable with medication.

Thank You for your responses. I told my husband about anti depressants but he said, that he is fine and doesn't need "psycho pills" so I called his doctor and together we tricked him.... I am not very proud, but... now he is taking cymbalta and we can live again, he thinks that this is another anti viral medicine (thank God he doesn't care what he's taking as long as it gives good results).

Hi, its me again sorry to bother everyone, but, I have been very very depressed over the past few months, as you all know I have the missed heart beats and so on, I have been seeing a pshychiatrist for the depression, doc has just changed my medication from Avanza to 'Cymbalta' has anyone heard of this drug, he said it would be very safe, but I dont know how it will effect my ever ectopic heart.

Cymbalta can work wonders for some people that have depression. It's one of the more stimulating meds though. Seroquel used to be used more for bi-polar but is being used more often now for depression. Did your Dr explain why they wanted you to take this med combo? I do agree with SassyLassie. Call the pharmacy because they'll know if you can takes these meds together safely.

It is VERY important to talk to your doctor about how you are feeling. Prenatal depression is a real thing that can cause real problems for your pregnancy, ie preterm labor.

I am sorry to hear you are suffering. I have RA, too, and I know what you mean about longing to enjoy things and be pain free. We all hope for remission and in the mean time have to find a way to come to terms with our pain and limitations. There are a lot of different drugs out there to help with pain and inflammation and it sounds to me like you need to ask your doctor about exploring them.

Is it just me or does every commercial seem to be taking about heart stuff.. Do scary and I was reading on here and some lady said her sister died of a heart tumor and had every heart test and ended up dying because they never caught the heart tumor. This really scared me, because I've been having chest pressure and pain for the last 2 months.

I was on Cymbalta for about 6 years. Last year my Pdoc doubled the dose for awhile. Then for 8 months we tried med changes. 10 different medicines. At the end he kept me on the 4 pill drug cocktail I had originally had before the episode. I am helped greatly by talk therapy. So I'm concentrating on that for now. What about you?
