Cymbalta fatigue

Common Questions and Answers about Cymbalta fatigue

cymbalta

Avatar f tn Two of the more common side effects of Cymbalta are insomnia and fatigue. Many of the common side effects of medications go away when our body has adjusted to the medication. How long have you been taking it? It can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks for the Cymbalta to work, so if you've been on it less than that amount of time, I would stick it out and see if the exhaustion goes away. If it doesn't, then obviously you need to see your doctor to discuss this.
Avatar f tn I have to switch my meds. I have depression and fibromyalgia and am on Cymbalta, but it doesn't seem to be helping me.....my doctor suggested Prozac since it is known to help fatigue better than the other antidepressants (supposedly). Thank you.
Avatar n tn My Dr. wanted me to try low dose Cymbalta for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and did not have the 30 mg samples so i was given the 60 mg with instructions to empty the capsules into food, as this would reduce the dose by approximately half. I became very ill with vomiting and severe diarreah. I was up all night running to the bathroom and was concerned when i looked up information on cymbalta that said not to open capsules.
712802 tn?1274645485 re taking a more sedating SSRI (which CYMBALTA might actually be) then your lethargy and fatigue symptoms do not surprise me. I take CELEXA , another SSRI, and I get fatigue from it. I don't know much about ABILIFY, just what I've read. If I were you, I'd call my Doc and let him/her know of your reaction to the combo you're on. It could be that your meds need to be re-adjusted OR maybe you need something else?
Avatar n tn So I slowly weaned off the lexapro and switched to cymbalta. For a week i took 5 mg of lexapro and a 30mg cymbalta. Now I am at a therapeutic dosage of 60mg cymbalta. And I also take clonozapem up to 3 times a day if I have panic attacks. Lexapro gave me gastroinstestinal side effects. While as Cymbalta now seems to give me sleep troubles/insomnia. However, sometimes the medication outweighs the side effects.
Avatar f tn Hello, I recently went to the doctor because of extreme fatigue & total inability to lose weight. I mean, rice cakes & fruit & 1 hour at the gym every day before work.... But more the fatigue. My doctor put me on cymbalta for anxiety about a month ago which helped temporarily with how tired I was, but I went to an endo as well, and my thyroid antibodies were high and I have 2 nodules less than 10 mm. So far the endo said to watch & I have a follow up in May!
Avatar m tn I forgot to mention the dosages of Cymbalta - 90mg, Wellbutrin - 300mg, Vyvanse - 70mg. I also forgot to mention that I am suffering from debilitating fatigue and "brain zaps" that also started soon after beginning Cymbalta and Wellbutrin.
Avatar f tn How do they help with the pain? Do they help with chronic fatigue as well? I have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue, and the aches and pains(especially legs from my thighs to my ankels) are leading the doctor to think fibromyalgia. I was just wondering about these meds because I NEED some relief and I've heard many mentions of these meds. Can they be taken with provigil?
1100837 tn?1267668675 I am desperate for answers regarding my chronic leg pain and fatigue. My doctor keeps increasing my Cymbalta. Now wants me to get off of Elavil 25mg and Adderal 15mg. Doctor says take the Neurontin for sleep. The Elavil works best for pain, but I can hardly get up in the mornings and it has made me gain 10 plus pounds and counting. I take Clonapin 0.5mg twice a day. Getting off the Elavil, I am having cold feet and hands and a very unsettling feeling and absolutley no energy.
11852 tn?1216841443 Just got from the endo. Good news is all my scans came back clean, so it looks like I'm cancer-free. I would be doing the happy dance, but I'm too dam tired to really care. Sad isn't it! Doc ask me how I was feeling and I told her about the extreme fatigue I've felt for a long time. I asked if there could be other causes besides thyroid history and the menopause. Her theory is I'm depressed and Effexor (taking for hot flashes) isn't working.
Avatar f tn OK- I have been dealing with anxiety for a while. This happened a few years ago as well. At that time I had a non stress test and a stress done. I had no blockages and a mild leaky prolapsed mitral valve. Last week I started on cymbalta. Yesterday evening when I came home from work all of a sudden I felt awful fatigue. I had to lay down on the couch and I fell asleep. When I woke up my heart was racing, my stomach was sick and I felt cold.
233622 tn?1279334905 Hello LA, Thanks so much for the response to my rant yesterday. I feel better today. Still have the double vision but like always my friends here cheer me up. To answer your question. I was on Cymbalta for about 6 weeks. I asked to be taken off of it. It was making me feel strange. Very "short Fused", irritated, grouchy. I started taking Effexor when this started and I went back to it just a higher dose now. I have seen where people here have got on it and it has helped very well.
Avatar f tn I 23 and have been suffering from pain for a very long time, and all other symptoms associated with fibromyalgia.recently a doctor decided it was fibromyalgia. I have started on Cymbalta 4 weeks ago, 60mg and have found no pain releif, but have found that im getting some energy back. Is it known to be benificial to be on cymbalta and lyrica at the same time? any recomendations i would greatly appriciate!!!!!!
Avatar n tn Hello Scscscsc, Welcome to the Pain Management Forum at MedHelp. I am sorry you are having such tiredness. Have you been on these meds for very long? I don't know the dosages you are taking but put all together they can make you feel a bit tired. Usually with time this side effect will ease. Our bodies usually adjust to the medications. Cymbalta really put me in a bit of a stupor. It may be your combination that is effecting you.
358486 tn?1294776388 I was diagnosed with fibro a year ago but have had it for 12 years, and have been on celexa for yearS, it didnt help one thing! I switched to Cymbalta 60mg 4 weeks ago and have much less fatigue and anxiety. They are in the same family of anti-depressants SSRI which increase "feel good" hormones in your body, but i feel cymbalta works much better!! Im hoping to also start Lyrica as well. Let me know if you have any questions.
Avatar f tn Doctor wants to break the pain cycle with cymbalta 20 mgs a day with valium 2.5 until cymbalta kicks in, Then start back upwith physical therapy in 2 weeks. He also said it is safe to take the ultram with the cymbalta since it is such a low dose. My pharmacist strongly disagrees. I have such anxiety, fear, and panic...even of taking the meds. Tried the cymbalta the other day, made me extremely nauseus, chills and felt like I had the flu. So I stopped it.
Avatar f tn For personal experience I can tell you that Cymbalta does cause withdrawal symptoms (abstinence syndrome). I was on Cymbalta for 6 months as prescribed for my Psychiatrist, after that I decided to do some research about possible withdrawal symptoms because my bad experience with lexapro in 2005. I found that Cymbalta can cause severe symptoms from withdrawal abruptly.
233622 tn?1279334905 t agreeing much low dos cymbalta was ok for me, though higher doses were not.
Avatar m tn I would switch gradually to Cymbalta and see what happens rather than being on both. As for the Wellbutrin added to the mix it could help with libido since dopamine is in play. Both Zoloft and Wellbutrin sounds like something you could try before getting on Cymblata. I don't think you shoud mix Cymbalta with Wellbutrin personally.

Avatar n tn I am currently taking klonopin twice a day which is a miracle for me prescribed from my psychiatrist... Prior to this I was taking cymbalta only for a week and 2 days! I stopped taking the cymbalta due to side effects. I didn't take any on Monday and still haven't. My primary care doctor prescribed the cymbalta to me! I was in the middle of withdrawing from celexa which was a nightmare in itself it's been almost a month I been off of it!
1205402 tn?1268220272 I have a hard time keeping up at work (fatigue, pain, and concentration), I had pain to an arm so bad last Friday that I could hardly move my arm. Last night I felt like I had a fever with the pain all over but I did not have a fever. I start shaking for no reason or when I bend down. My skin hurts, my arms and legs feel weak. I try do walk everyday and I am now at around 20 to 25 minutes a day and I do aquafitness once a week. A warm shower helps but not for long.
1184051 tn?1264435308 had me have the MRI because of increasing fatigue, tingling body parts, headaches, major memory problems! Now I have to go to a neurologist. I just feel that I will have a bunch of tests and they will say they don't know or label me with fibromyalgia, but do they take it as a serious condition? I'm glad they didn't find anything majorly wrong in my brain, I just want to feel better. Does anyone else understand how I feel?
Avatar m tn Off-balnce/unwound feeling (imagine an unwound sewing spindle), fatigue, lack of energy, general weakness, roller coaster digestive symptoms (abdominal pain, rectal spasms, gas-top & bottom all day long, bloating, some soft stools, anxiety. I was on Remeron since the first week of September and dropped it because my Liver Function tests came back high. I was also taking a whole bunch of supplements at the time and don't know what caused the high numbers so I dropped every pill.
