Just got from the endo. Good news is all my scans came back clean, so it looks like I'm cancer-free. I would be doing the happy dance, but I'm too dam tired to really care. Sad isn't it! Doc ask me how I was feeling and I told her about the extreme fatigue I've felt for a long time. I asked if there could be other causes besides thyroid history and the menopause. Her theory is I'm depressed and Effexor (taking for hot flashes) isn't working.

HI I am going to the doctor on the 13th of june to get on an antidepressant.

It made me so numb arms hands legs feet they did nerve tests. Ithey tried me on amatriptyline. Cymbalta did not give me energy. In fact I have more off of it. A month ago I bought magnesium oil roll on because I have no tub to soak in and remember that Epsom salts have magnesium(diff kind). I remembered it helped me relax. I applied it all over and 20 min later I was pain free. I put it on daily now or nightly depends when I need it worse.

Im on 30 mg. of cymbalta since may 8,Klonopin since april 23 and xanax since feb..tapering off xanax.......since adding cymbalta to this mixture my blood pressure has dropped as my heart rate has too........is this normal for this mixture? I dont like the cymbalta so far and i thought the klonopin was suppose to help with my tapering off xanax,i was suppose to stop xanax 2 days ago and so far i havent because im scared of withdrawals......

Trying another antidepressant of another kind could help. Adding Wellbutrin to a reduced dose of Cymbalta could really help with energy and depression. Xanax wont help with energy and depression and it is making you more tired and the same is true with morphine. Try tapering the Xanax then go with a stimulant to help with daily energy (something like Adderall if you want amphetamines and Modafinil if you don't want amphetamines and less side-effects).

Hello there, Cymbalta is a SNRI which mean it will affect your serotonin level but also your norepinephrine level which can be translated into adrenaline which results into a energy boost and less pain. I am on Cymbalta and Lyrica for chronic nerves pain due to compression of the suboccipital triangle causing pressure on the C2 originating nerves resulting in occipital neuralgia and myofacial pain.

Pls ppl, Do not go onto any dose of Cymbalta w/o investigating it thoroughly. Thr is no exit strategy for Cymbalta and its half-life is only 12hrs; IOW, u cld be on Cymbalta 20mg for the rest of yr life b/c u cn't functn w/o it. Most of the ppl who hv tried to wean thmslvs off Cymbalta face awful serotonin w/drawal symptoms. It is not unusual tht Cymbalta patients hv broken the 20mg capsule and eliminated 1-2 pebbles (out of abt 50 in each capsule) per wk. it's a complete nightmare.

Is anyone out there on Cymbalta? My Dr. switched me today and I am so afraid of the side effects. Ive been on Lexapro for the past 3 years but feel I might be immuned to it. He added Wellbutrin but it made me extremely anxious.....

Hi Are Depression, Chronic pain and Aggression related to too low a dose of thyroid meds? I've taken thyroid meds since about 2-1/2 to 3 mos. old. As of 2-1/2 years ago, My emotions went bum over tea-kettle and I've had to take Cymbalta since about Jan. of 08. This year, my GP insisted on jacking with my dosage of Synthroid, changed it to Levothyroxin and lowered the dose.

Now I am on Cymbalta and have gained another 10lbs, Does nay other person have this problem? I want to get off it, any other ideas on what depression medcine to take that waon't make you gain weight..

Hi ..Well My doctor put me on cymbalta 60mg and I have been taking it for almost 2 weeks, I noticed it working after the first week and it was nice not panicking for a change, but it makes me so sleepy at different times throughout the day. Has anyone experienced this with this drug I'm not sure if I should keep taking it or go off it..Feeling very confused. It makes me feel a little spacey as well and not a lot of energy..I would appreciate any advice anyone could give me thanks a bunch..

That being said, her doctor was wise to switch her over to another medication like Cymbalta. 30Mgs of Cymbalta is a good starting point and this gives him option to ramp the dosage up as needed. Regardless of this fact, Cymbalta, May or may not be an effective medication for her. I tried Cymbalta for 7 weeks at 60Mgs per day (after 4 years on Effexor) and in my case it did NOTHING to help with my condition.

I have been taking Cymbalta for about 2 months now, 1 month at 30 mg and upped it to 60 mg about a month ago. I have noticed that I am feeling much better mood-wise, my pain is not as bad, motivation is better, etc., however, I have been craving food like mad. Did your doc just tell you to stop the Effexor and start the Cymbalta? What dose of Effexor are you stopping at, and what dose of Cymbalta are you starting at? Some people have seamless transitions, while others report some symptoms of a discontinuation syndrome, like you mentioned above. Hopefully, you'll have a smooth transition. I've been taking Zoloft twice a day (100 mg) for more than 10 years and it is no longer working. I'm interesting in trying to figure out what to try now. I've heard good things about Lexapro (insurance covers) and Cymbalta (insurance does not cover no generic)... So what should I do... Don't take abilify with Cymbalta! I take Cymbalta and then I was also put on abilify shortly before my family and I went on vacation to Disneyworld and it was the worst time I ever had! I felt like I was going to jump out of my skin! I was so agitated and could not sleep. I would pace at night! I did get off abilify when I got back and am just on Cymbalta now and am better but I am experiencing things like headaches and heart palpitations so may be getting off Cymbalta, too.

The Valium-Cymbalta combo is safe and is something I used in the past. He's behavioral changes are due to the new norepinephrine reuptake inhibition that he is getting with Cymbalta that he wasn't getting with Paxil. Of course taking 3 Valiums will make most people act like you described as ''He is slurring words, falling over, and just out of it.'' but it's not due to the Cymbalta of at least I really don't think so.

Do you all have nerve pain and that is why the nerve drugs? I was on Neurontin and it didn't help my pain at all. As I tapered off of it I got pain flares about twice a week (worse than my usual pain). I am actually doing better without any pain meds and without nerve drugs but once I increase my actiivity I am going to have to go back on something. All the docs push Cymbalta.They must get a kick back from the pharmas.

Hello, I have been on 10mg of Lexapro since September 2010 and I must admit that is has helped with anxiety and depression. At first i had energy and didn;t have sleep issues but for the past couple of months i've been very sluggish and groggy. The doc decided to switch me to Cymbalta. I will start at 30mg and work my way up to 60 mg. I'm a little concerned about making the switch because it makes me wonder if the whole gettting on a medication process will take place all over again.

today and he put me on 30mg/day of Cymbalta for a week then kick it up to 60mg/day for however long I guess. I told him Im still very depressed/anxious something Ive suffered with for the past 16 years. I was on Paxil a long time ago and it did nothing for me. From what he said, this is nothing like Paxil but more like Effexor. Also said it might help with the lack of energy. So my question to everyone is...has anyone taken it. Successsfull? I took Cymbalta last year for nerve pain. Cymbalta is in clinical trials now to help such pain, maybe you already know that. Anyway, my symptoms did not disappear but improved so much that i got excited about being able to do stuff I hadn't been able to do for months like going to the mall with my daughter and actually being able to go in the stores and look around with her rather than sit on a bench outside.

I also told my best friend and my boyfriend. Dr gave me Gabapentin and Cymbalta. This is helping tremendously with the wd. I have taken Cymbalta before and suffered awful side effects the first couple days, but this time, no side effects at all. Try to get rid of the Seroquel and trazadone when you can and go for the Cymbalta and Provigil. Think about adding a good vitamin B complex to help with energy and you metabolism and what it can do for your brain and mood.
