Cymbalta dosage increase

Common Questions and Answers about Cymbalta dosage increase

cymbalta

Avatar m tn I don't know what you will experience exactly but just from my experience on Cymbalta which I am currently on 30 mg didn't do crap for me and I didn't feel that i was that depressed but more anxious than anything. THen I did figure out I was more depressed than I thought but still depressed so they upped the dosage to 60 mg. 60mg is the standard dosage for Cymbalta. I had asked to be put on 30mg onlyh because I didn't want any side effects (especially sexual side effects)...
Avatar n tn I doubt your doctor will increase the Cymbalta anymore, and if he tries to...find another doctor! Best wishes.
1248885 tn?1285832739 I had to go off Cymbalta 60 mg due to the increase in copay. I was doing well on it. I now am on Celexa HBR 20 mg. I have been on it almost a month. I am taking it for Depression. It seems to be helping. The thing is I am not sure if I should increase it. Does anyone know if the dose of the Celexa is equivalent to the Cymbalta? I do still have moment where I begin to cry out of the blue, even when things become overwhelming. Any sugestions would be a great help.
Avatar n tn Early last year I stopped Cymbalta and had no problems being on it or getting off of it. Then last Summer I began taking Victoza for my Diabetes, I take 1.2 mg injection every other day. It's a great medicine and has also helped me lose weight. Then in Mid-December I was getting Depressed again and thought I might try going back on Cymbalta. I took one 60mg capsule in the early afternoon. I was fine until about 8 hours later.
3547166 tn?1347814000 I was recently prescribed Cymbalta for severe Anxiety. I am taking it but I haven't been on it long enough for it to start working yet. Does anyone have any personal experience with this medication? Does anyone know how well this medication will work? I am worried it won't work at all. My Psychiatrist has tried me on so many different medications.
Avatar f tn Should you experience symptoms when you have dosage increase? I have been taking 75mcg for 8 days after increasing from 50 mcg. The lower dosage made me feel dizzy and so tired so endo told me to start 75 mcg. But I have been feeling a little jittery, nauseous and achy all weekend. Is it normal to have this after increase and I should try to tough it out for a few days? Or is this a reaction I should be concerned about it?
396332 tn?1320003615 t feeling any better, contact your doctor and let him know this, you made need an increase in your dosage. They normally start you out on a low dose and go from there, and needing an increase is normal. Work closely with your doctor with your meds anytime you feel they aren't working or you develop other symptoms. I wish you all the best and take care!
407790 tn?1397761026 Thanks so much for the additional info! You're right, that's QUITE the cocktail of meds! How long have you been on that specific regimen? You're new to the Cymbalta (from the Pristiq) for about a month, correct? I personally think that adding the Abilify is a bit premature. You never know, you may see some significant improvements with the Cymbalta, but it's still kind of early to fairly assess your progress with it.
1809911 tn?1332687902 I was on Zoloft and was in need of an increase in dosage (was on for over a year at same dosage) and my PCP switched me to Cymbalta, after I pleaded with her to just increase my Zoloft (as it has been working fine with me). She ignored me and thus the Cymbalta was started...with hestitation from myself. Because my body reacts so differently than most to meds...I was afraid...and was discovered why. After 2 weeks on Cymbalta...
Avatar f tn Would you recommend stopping Effexor and switching to Cymbalta? Will Cymbalta reduce the withdrawal effect? My daughters were both recently put on Cymbalta, and their depression is much better, and they claim they are "thinking more clearly". Thanks for your input.
Avatar f tn It's possible that other things (like the heat, or a virus) is causing these symptoms. However, I've been on antidepressants for the past 4 years, and I will occasionally get these breakthroughs of side-effects / symptoms. They usually go away in a few days. BUt if yours continue or get worse, definitely speak with your doc about the medication.
760862 tn?1243097304 00am but I am just wondering if anyone else out there in Med Help Land has experienced the same syimptoms after an increase in Cymbalta or, if anyone knows if it actually is the Cymbalta or maybe just a stomach bug. Thanks for any replies - that would be great.
Avatar m tn Did you recently increase the dosage per your doc's orders? I always find that when I started, stopped, or adjusted dosage, I would have increased anxiety and feel a little more on edge, but it would level out within a few weeks or so. These meds can sometimes be a little trial and error in finding which one is right for you sometimes. If you continue to have these effects, I would talk to your doctor about them...keep us posted!
Avatar f tn Not sure your dose of Cymbalta or Gabapentin… Perhaps you could increase the dosage of one of them??? I used to take Gabapentin, but it caused me to gain weight like there was no tomorrow, so I insisted that I be given something else. You can also talk to your doctor about Topamax (generic is Topiramate). I was on that for several years and did better than anything else but my neuro wanted me off it, so I agreed to go with the Duloxetine. There are options.
Avatar n tn 83, The doctor has now increase my weekend dosage to 100mcg but I still feel this is not enough. I feel 125mcag along with 100mcg every other day would be more suitable for me. Please advise as I'm concern about about my baby.
Avatar m tn I was on 25 mg for my insomnia and it stop working after 2 months so I had to increase to 50 mg and then 75 mg and I hit the 100 mg and my panic disorder and anxiety increase a lot when I reach that dosage... I stop the Seroquel more than 1 year ago and since then I sleep very bad... My PDoc put me on a low dose of Remeron, around 3,5 mg...
Avatar m tn I take 1 150mg dose at 9PM. Should I ask the doctor to increase my dosage to 300mg. Does any body have an experience like me? Do you have any input for me? I am getting discouraged waiting.
1460652 tn?1340248730 When can I expect to feel positive effects from a dosage increase of an ssri? I have been on celexa for 8 weeks, slowly going up from 5 to 20 mg. I've been on 20 mg for 7 days and still feel anxious...how long does it take for a new dosage to yield positive effects?
Avatar n tn Latley his depression has come back (not as bad as before). His MD has increase his dosage by 150 mg.(has not started yet, med is being filled) , can people build up talorance to this drug?
Avatar f tn My Dr. just switched me from Effexor XR to Cymbalta. I took my first dose of Cymbalta in the evening, because the script said it caused drowsiness. I was wide awake all night and went to work the following day. Has anyone had a problem with this med at night? Now I'm not taking anything. I'm a mess. Probably going through withdrawals. Please help. I can't reach my doctor.
Avatar n tn So I slowly weaned off the lexapro and switched to cymbalta. For a week i took 5 mg of lexapro and a 30mg cymbalta. Now I am at a therapeutic dosage of 60mg cymbalta. And I also take clonozapem up to 3 times a day if I have panic attacks. Lexapro gave me gastroinstestinal side effects. While as Cymbalta now seems to give me sleep troubles/insomnia. However, sometimes the medication outweighs the side effects.
1348086 tn?1370783185 He put me on nortriptyline (25mg first week), and is weaning me off of cymbalta (I was on 60). He dropped me down to 30Mg of the cymbalta for 7 pills and then every other day for the next 7 pills. After one week, I was to up my dosage of nortriptyline to 50Mg. I actually waited 8 days. Today was an off day of the cymbalta and I am suppose to start with 75Mg of the nortriptyline. I have had terrible anxiety today due to our social gathering here at the house.
Avatar n tn Namaste, Clinical studies of Cymbalta have shown that up to 11 percent of people taking Cymbalta reported a loss of appetite, and up to 2 percent of people reported weight loss. On average, people lost about one to three pounds while taking Cymbalta.
