The report describes a bone marrow transplant patient who developed severe tremors and visual hallucinations after he dramatically increased his dosage of oxycodone while on a stable dosage of sertraline and cyclosporine. Discontinuation of cyclosporine did not completely resolve his hallucinations and had no effect on the tremors after 72 hours, which led to consideration of a possible sertraline-oxycodone interaction.
I have gone off of Cymbalta. Haven't taken it for about a week. I also take Wellbutrin 150 daily. Can I try the suggested amino protocol while still on Wellbutrin? I know the Cymbalta falls under the category of SSRI, but am not sure about the Wellbutrin. I am trying to taper off Ultram and need all the help I can get.
I don't know what you will experience exactly but just from my experience on Cymbalta which I am currently on 30 mg didn't do crap for me and I didn't feel that i was that depressed but more anxious than anything. THen I did figure out I was more depressed than I thought but still depressed so they upped the dosage to 60 mg. 60mg is the standard dosage for Cymbalta. I had asked to be put on 30mg onlyh because I didn't want any side effects (especially sexual side effects)...
My Dr. just switched me from Effexor XR to Cymbalta. I took my first dose of Cymbalta in the evening, because the script said it caused drowsiness. I was wide awake all night and went to work the following day. Has anyone had a problem with this med at night? Now I'm not taking anything. I'm a mess. Probably going through withdrawals. Please help. I can't reach my doctor.
So I slowly weaned off the lexapro and switched to cymbalta. For a week i took 5 mg of lexapro and a 30mg cymbalta. Now I am at a therapeutic dosage of 60mg cymbalta. And I also take clonozapem up to 3 times a day if I have panic attacks.
Lexapro gave me gastroinstestinal side effects. While as Cymbalta now seems to give me sleep troubles/insomnia. However, sometimes the medication outweighs the side effects.

Anyone reading the above post should know it's factually inaccurate on all counts. SSRIs definitely work differently -- obviously. 5-HTP is a metabolite of tryptophan that the body uses in combination with Vitamin C, B6 and other co-factors to manufacture serotonin. SSRIs target certain serotonin receptors while ignoring others and inhibit the enzyme that breaks down used serotonin so it washes longer in the targeted receptors.
If memory serves me correct 90Mgs a day of Cymbalta is the maximum effective dosage. This basicaly means that in clinical trials any more than 90Mgs of Cymbalta was not shown to produce any further impact on the symptoms of the subjects depression.
In my case I found Cymbalta to be the least effective of the SNRI group of SNRI drugs.
Has anyone taken Cymbalta for depression? If so, how long...what were the side effects if any? How long have you been taking it....are you happy with it?
Jan 7, 2014 my psychiatrist switched me from 60mg Cymbalta to 100mg Zoloft. The switch was made bc I felt after 5 yrs, the Cymbalta might be pooping out. The first week I took 30mg Cymbalta with 50mg Zoloft. After that week, I stopped Cymbalta and went to 100mg Zoloft. It's now a little over 4 weeks since the switch and I'm having panic attacks like I haven't had in years & also that disassociation feeling that goes along w/anxiety & depression.
The average dose for Cymbalta is 60mg per day, and although some doctors do prescribe it 120mg per day...there is no evidence to prove that it helps any more than the 60 mg per day. The maximim dose for Prozac is 80mg per day so you're still below the highest dosage on that one. I doubt your doctor will increase the Cymbalta anymore, and if he tries to...find another doctor! Has anyone tried or currently use Cymbalta for Fibromyalgia. My primary care Dr. wants me to try it for my pain. I have glaucoma, it's under controlled but im still afraid to take it because of the side affects. Im in so much pain most of the time. I also have non hodgkns lymphoma and sarcoidosis and both are in remission , and I pray I can get some kind of relief. I really would like to hear some input on this.

Hi - I have been on cymbalta for about 6 weeks now after about 3 years of being depressed . I am 50 years old and the medication seems to be working sometimes. I have a good day and then the next day I feel depressed and don't want to get out of bed - like I was before cymbalta. Is this normal, have I bben on the medication long enough for it to hellp..
