Common Questions and Answers about Cymbalta cost

cymbalta

Avatar f tn Just hot my thyroid levels at a good level. I switched from pristiq to cymbalta back in November. I am tired ALL the time. More than when my thyroid was out of whack. Could the cymbalta be causing this and if so, what if I took it at night?
1258539 tn?1293840202 Overall I think Cymbalta is one of the best medication out there but this have a cost. Cymbalta cost is outrageous and Cymbalta is very hard to stop. I stopped cold-turkey after using it for only 5 months and I had brain zaps for a little more than a month. The withdrawal was quite severe but it is expected with all potent powerful antidepressant.
Avatar n tn What is this Acal Nitraburst ? I need to be on something and I have gotten off of cymbalta. Is this better for pain of firomyalgia?
Avatar m tn Due my health insurance more then tripling the cost of Cymbalta I have to change meds. I have been using Cymbalta for alomost four years, I am very concerned that my Doc wants to start me on 40mg of Prozac when I have been on 120mg of Cymbalta. Can I have your thoughts about 40mg vs. 120mg and what side affects I will have to go though.
Avatar n tn Considering you have been taking cymbalta for a few years I think it was EXTREMELY careless of your doctor to have you quit it cold turkey. You should have slowly tapered off of the cymbalta while tapering onto the prozac. Did you quit cold turkey because you couldn't afford one more refill to do a proper taper of the cymbalta?
Avatar f tn Is anyone out there on Cymbalta? My Dr. switched me today and I am so afraid of the side effects. Ive been on Lexapro for the past 3 years but feel I might be immuned to it. He added Wellbutrin but it made me extremely anxious.....
480448 tn?1426948538 Just wanted to get some input from those of you who have had experience with Cymbalta. I post this poll with the understanding that everyone is different....I just would like some info. Thanks all!
1442059 tn?1340240952 s not a cheap drug and cost a lot. I was very active while being on Cymbalta (going to the gym 3-4 times a week and jogging 45 min everyday) and very outgoing. My tolerance to alcohol increase a lot. I had no side-effects. The withdrawal was kinda bad... At least 100 brain zaps a day, irritability etc... But I did quit cold turkey and only had to endure this for 1 month.
Avatar f tn I have been on Cymbalta for over a year by a world renowned Psychiatrist after being on a worthless drug called Imipramine. I have totally seen a change in myself and the side effects have been minimal. If weren't for the cost especially after losing insurance I still love it!! I pay 140.00 per month so make sure you shop around if your insurance doesn't help. It is a fairly need drug but specifically for GAD sufferers. Good luck to you!
Avatar f tn I am in the same boat as you are Cookie. Please if u find a cure let me know. Im on cymbalta and my insurance dont pay for it anymore and it is sooo expensive. Anyone out there that got advice please HELP!!
1218873 tn?1300091216 I have been put on Cymbalta medication 60 mg at night to replace the 50mg of amitriptyline I was taking. I have taken it for nearly 2 weeks and there seems to be pros and cons. I also take 400mg of Lyrica a day. The amitriptyline was giving me a good nights sleep, but was not overly helping the neuropathic pain once awake, it also left a really bad taste in my mouth and I found myself eating constantly, and piling on wieght.
Avatar m tn it was said 5-years ago i had depression and panic attacks, ive been on paxil, effexxor, lexapro, cymbalta, triptolines, all of the new ones and some old, now ive been switched to prozac 20mg. can anyone tell me anything good about prozac?
Avatar f tn I was currently on Oxycodone for 3 montsh post and pre surgical period and now that I am trying to stop them I am in severe depression. I am and have been on Cymbalta and from what I am reading this may or moay not help but it definately isn't doing the trick for me. Any advice???
Avatar f tn I never did see any difference from using it vs Cymbalta. I had tried it since I did not really notice anything while using Cymbalta. I could up the dose I guess however, the cost of all the meds I take are just to great to go higher. As is I split the dose to make it last longer. No side affects though. I swear by Tramadol 200 slow release and Lyrica. Without those two I would be a complete mess.
1088430 tn?1259159773 I'm being treated for chronic headaches/migraines.4yr history, only within last 6 months went back to neurologist to seek MD help again after MANY pro-active "natural" then OTC methods had failed.(4yrs ago several CT's/MRI's, then arterialgram ruled out a possible AVM or any other serious cause) Other than aboritive Relpax or Imitrex, was started on combo of Lyrica/Amitriptaline(?) Topamax ruled out due to "nerve" symptoms he said it wouldn't help.
Avatar m tn s health insurance, only the newer ones are not paid like Cymbalta. Drugs like Zoloft, Prozac, Remeron will not cost you. The therapy would cost you tho. but it is the place to start usually and antidepressants are at maximum efficacy when used with therapy.
Avatar n tn I had a rough time getting of cymbalta in the past so I'm against taking any prescription SSRI....i was reading up on the amnio acid protocol and saw what the autor wrote about 5HTP possibly eliminating...if not at least helping with PAWS.. Has anyone used it and gotten positive results? I'm nervous about starting to take something - even if it is a supplement...thanks.
Avatar f tn Together they feel my symptoms can be managed by taking anti anxiety med (Cymbalta 30 mg/day then up to 60 mg/day after one week) and Belviq (2 x per day) to get the weight off that I have gained since feeling this way. I am sitting on both scripts, terrified to take either meds. What am I missing here? I feel awful. I started talking with a Nutritionist and she said to try grain & gluten free to help with the Hashi symptoms.
Avatar m tn He said I will get the cymbalta. So I brought the cymbalta and again my insurance DENIED it again. The Pharmacy called my doc and he called my insurance. They worked out a solution. They and my family doc prescribed a generic med called citalopram that I am taking for 30 days and if it doesn't help then they will ok the Cymbalta. Actually so far the Citalopram IS helping!!!! Thank you so much for your help and asking. Have a GREAT HOLIDAYS!!!!!
Avatar m tn Hi, My doctor wants to put me on cymbalta for nerve pain that I have been having from an injury I have from 2005. It's nerve pain from a fall I took. He says it will help to calm down the nerves and signals from my brain to help with the pain. The prescription is for 30mg, 1 tab a day then increase to 2 tabs and recheck with him in a month. I'm alittle scared to take this, as I have never had to go on this kind of medicene and I'm afraid what the side effects might do.
Avatar m tn Only took Cymbalta for 3 months but had side effects of being off balance lightheaded feeling like I am walking in a boat now I being taken off the drug and having nightmares the sweats headaches anyone had this experience with this drug?
400867 tn?1371753094 So I took my first Cymbalta today. Other than Paxil, nothing else has worked for me (Lexapro and Effexor). Anyone have any good experiences with Cymbalta? Just wondering what I'm in for this time... Thanks!!
Avatar f tn Would you recommend stopping Effexor and switching to Cymbalta? Will Cymbalta reduce the withdrawal effect? My daughters were both recently put on Cymbalta, and their depression is much better, and they claim they are "thinking more clearly". Thanks for your input.
4753943 tn?1359934569 Did your doc just tell you to stop the Effexor and start the Cymbalta? What dose of Effexor are you stopping at, and what dose of Cymbalta are you starting at? Some people have seamless transitions, while others report some symptoms of a discontinuation syndrome, like you mentioned above. Hopefully, you'll have a smooth transition. Definitely let us know how you're feeling.
