cymbalta back pain

I had a hysterectomy 2 months ago due to a severe case of endometriosis. I had a lot of back pain & I thought after I had a hysterectomy that pain would go away.....it hasn't yet. I was wondering if cymbalta would be good for my back pain? My lower back hurts a lot & I didn't know if they would complicate things. I just want some answers...maybe you can help.

I ended up having a hysterectomy 3 months ago. Had anyone taken cymbalta for lower back pain? All I have is Flexerrel (muscle relaxers) but that doesn't work every time.

Cymbalta actually worked for me after I had a major back surgery...i had alot of nerve damage in my sciatic and the cymbalta helped me while they were doing procedures to ease the nerve pain such as epidurals and rfas...however getting off of it was not the easiest thing I ever had to do...my dr lowered the dose and got me off of it safely but I was still going through some moderate withdrawals like shaking and nausea but they only lasted a few weeks and I was fine afterward...

Over a year ago I was diagnosed with having a bone spur at the C-5 level right side and the C-4 and C-5 discs are bulging and actually causing my spinal cord to push forward. I've been having a lot of headaches, neck and shoulder pain, muscle weakness and tingling in my right arm and hand and even sometimes in my left hand. I've seen a Neurosurgeon and Neurologist. I'm currently taking Lyrica and Cymbalta for the nerve pain.

I have started on Cymbalta 4 weeks ago, 60mg and have found no pain releif, but have found that im getting some energy back. Is it known to be benificial to be on cymbalta and lyrica at the same time? any recomendations i would greatly appriciate!!!!!!

Today my doc switched me from Effexor to Cymbalta because I have chronic back pain and she felt the Effexor was not helping me at all. My main concern is stopping the Effexor. Has anyone switched like this before? I want to know if I should still expect the intense Effexor withdrawal symptoms such as brain zapping, nausea, dizziness, and crying spells. Any advice would greatly help. I want to know what I'm getting myself in to!

I sometimes take Remeron at bedtime if I need it to sleep. I do wish they helped me more for the pain-pain, ha. Other than otc pain meds, Excedrin, or aleve. I do have muscle relaxers like flexeril and a bottle of doxepin ( sinequan ) but I haven't taken either in a very long time, not even when I was in withdrawls, I guess I just was afraid to take them. although I should have taken whatever worked, ?? Muscle relaxers just make me so very foggy the next day,miserable.

Hi, My doctor wants to put me on cymbalta for nerve pain that I have been having from an injury I have from 2005. It's nerve pain from a fall I took. He says it will help to calm down the nerves and signals from my brain to help with the pain. The prescription is for 30mg, 1 tab a day then increase to 2 tabs and recheck with him in a month. I'm alittle scared to take this, as I have never had to go on this kind of medicene and I'm afraid what the side effects might do.

m on Lexapro now and had to back my dose down because I was putting weight on. I did find that the Cymbalta helped my back pain. I really hope it helps your headaches.

it was originally developed for people with neuropathic pain from diabetes. I had terrible back pain, tingling in my toes that drove me crazy all night long, and pins and needles feelings in my lower legs and feet. Cymbalta saved my life, I tried paxil it made me feel like I was in a daze i was not myself i could hear myself talking very slowly but it didn't seem like it was me talking. It was weird. As for the depression aspect it also helped tremendously.

I recently went to dr to talk about possible fibro and cfs. I took blood for tests and put me on cymbalta for the time being. I am now tappering off my Effexor and up to 60 mg of the cymbalta. I haven't gotten the test results back yet. anyway, my question is--Has anyone had luck with cymbalta? And does cymbalta work for fibro and cfs? Why isn't he referring me to a neuro or a pain mgmt doc?

I have chronic back and leg pain due to scar tissue from disk surgery at L5-S1 I and been taking vicodin since 2000 and it helps a lot but I have been trying to find something else that will help that is non narcotic so I can get of the vics. My Dr prescribed Cymbalta and I noticed a significant difference in just a few days, however it does have side effects and at least for me made having an orgasm almost impossible or it took a long time to get there.

Candy, I was on cymbalta for pain a while back. It worked great for me but I got headaches on a daily basis so my neuro took me off of it. I loved it for the pain though. The meds wont interfere with your injections. Your neuro has a list of all your meds and I am sure he/she is making sure that the combinations are safe. It is crazy all the meds we end up taking.

I was tried on Cymbalta for treatment of severe pain and what they thought was depression, ummm hello! anyone in severe pain for years would be depressed seems a pretty normal reaction. I'd be worried if someone was giddy about it. ANNYYHOO . The Cymbalta gave me really wierd effects, jaw clenching twitchy feeling eyes rolling and crawly feeling on my skin. Dr said serotonin toxicity.

I have been to a rhuematologist and nuerolgost with terrible back and leg pain. I was put on nuerontin which did not help. The MRI SHOWED 3 discs bulging but they say they were not bad enough to cause this much pain. Now I have been on 6 nortriptiline per day which helps but not much. now they are switching me to cymbalta weening me off of nortriptiline and the pain is getting worse again. I have been off work for 6 months and am going crazing from pain as well as losing my house.

The latest was a 2 level fusion and I was really hoping this would end the pain, the steroid injections, and get me going again. It has not and I am back to taking pain meds 60mg morphine daily and 60 mg oxycodone. I have been so depressed and now I am taking 180mg of cymbalta and now xanax. I am more depressed and lost than I have ever been in my life. I can't do anything, I have no energy to do anything. I don't eat much anymore.

I also told my best friend and my boyfriend. Dr gave me Gabapentin and Cymbalta. This is helping tremendously with the wd. I have taken Cymbalta before and suffered awful side effects the first couple days, but this time, no side effects at all. I'm assuming this is because the tramadol has the same ssri effects as the Cymbalta? Anyone out there dealt tithe the tramadol wd, and have taken this combination to ease through?

Bummer is that Savella did seem to be helping with my pain, but since I was having such severe issues with things, we stopped immediately and I am back on just the Cymbalta now. I know how you feel about calling yourself a "lab rat." I call it the "med-go-round.

I found out I have fibromyalgia. The Dr put me on cymbalta 60 mg. I went back and told him I was still hurting and felt drepress more, crying. He upped the cymbalta to 120 mg a day. I fell sad and dont feel like my self. I am still hurting but not as bad. Can someone help me please!

I have also tried and done a whole list of other things to find an option to vics and pain. Anyway, I saw my Dr yesterday and he prescribed Cymbalta to go along with the vics that I am taking. He does not want to increase my vic use or the strength above the 5/500's that I get now. Has anyone else taken Cymbalta? I am hopeful that it will help me, but as we are friends here and I respect the input from all of you please let me know of good or bad things you have found with this med.
