In July 2008 I switched over from Zoloft and Invega to Wellbutrin and Cymbalta. At that time, these were my only medications. In August 08, when I stood up from my chair, my legs had terrible tremors. They were so bad that I had to hold onto the desk. This still happens today. I also experience leg tremors when descending stairs - but not going up. I get minor tremors while going from a standing to a sitting position. My right hand has started to tremor - kind of fast but mild.
I would switch gradually to Cymbalta and see what happens rather than being on both. As for the Wellbutrin added to the mix it could help with libido since dopamine is in play. Both Zoloft and Wellbutrin sounds like something you could try before getting on Cymblata. I don't think you shoud mix Cymbalta with Wellbutrin personally.
nt cause me any problems in that area was Cymbalta. Wellbutrin and Cymbalta are in a different classes than the SSRI's so maybe that's why they don't effect the sex drive.
I have come off of a lot of my medications. My final meds are Wellbutrin, Trazodone and Cymbalta. The Wellbutrin is suppose to take the place of the cymbalta. After horrible withdrawal, I came completely off of Cymbalta last week. I became so depressed that I couldn't stand to talk, much less move. All I wanted to do was sleep and be left alone. When I did interact, I was grizzly mean.
i am thinkin about having my doctor start me on cymbalta or wellbutrin.. i have tried everything else and it didnt work that well for me.. those two are the only ones i know that have norepenephrine.. i dont know if i spelled that right... i was wondering if anyone had any bad reactions or anything good to say about either one.. and if it seem to make a difference with the serotonin and norepenphrine.. compared to just serotonin..
The average dose for Cymbalta is 60mg per day, and although some doctors do prescribe it 120mg per day...there is no evidence to prove that it helps any more than the 60 mg per day. The maximim dose for Prozac is 80mg per day so you're still below the highest dosage on that one. I doubt your doctor will increase the Cymbalta anymore, and if he tries to...find another doctor! how long have you been doing this? I am on 275 effexor and 150 long acting wellbutrin and my starch cravings do me in, So i will research if cymbalta could substitute for the wellbutrin which acts differently that effexor and the cocktail is otherwise acceptable. But if you know somethinghere about cymbalta v. Wellbutrin, I'd love to know.
After taking Wellbutrin 150mg 2x daily and my Zoloft 100mg together fro the first time I woke disoriented and dizzy
Just was wondering if I should of started the wellbutrin one a day to get used to it.
I was on Cymbalta for 5 years and it just stopped working. I like my Cymbalta and had very little side effects with it for many years but all of a sudden I started getting headaches and anxiety, sleeping all day and missing days at a time from work. They have switched me to Cypralex now and I am quite concerned it won't do as much for me. It has only been a few days so I cannot determine the effects quite yet, except that I have the shakes really bad.
I have been on Wellbutrin off and on for 10 years, on Cymbalta for 4-5 years and Geodon for 4 years. I have been on Geodon 40 mg at times, but recently for the last year or so, on 20 mg. Recently, my psychiatrist bumped me up to 40 mg again. It seems like the last time I was on 40 mg, I also had anxiety and obsessive thoughts. I was just wondering if anyone else had the same experience with Geodon, since that is the only thing that has changed recently.
Were you on Wellbutrin first and did well on it? Or, were you on Cymbalta first? If you really think Cymbalta is the med causing your anxiety you need to work with your Dr as far as tapering off it. Getting off it can be done. I took it myself and was able to taper with my Drs help until I was completely off it.
I'll add my experience here too. I just started Wellbutrin a few weeks ago with the hopes that it would also help me quit smoking.
I am one that this drug has done wonders for so far. I feel less anxious and I actually feel like my old self again. I was sooooo crabby and angry for awhile and now I'm not. My husband, especially, has noticed the difference. Apparently I was taking everything out on him, lol!

s the right way to discontinue antidepressants. And tell your doctor about it too. Cymbalta is one of the harder medications to discontinue and withdrawal can be difficult. But once it is fully out of your system, side effects associated with it should become less and less until it is fully gone. How long has it been since you stopped the med? That is key.
Also, there are other depression medications that work with fewer side effects.
m not getting the same benefit that I used to and mentioned it to my GP. She has suggested that I think about using Wellbutrin in combination with the Effexor.
I've read that this combo can cause a whole heap of trouble - i.e. seizures, liver/kidney function decreases, etc. Has anyone used this combo and what kind of reactions, if any, have you had? I should also mention that I have type 1 diabetes as well.
I have tried paxil, effexor, wellbutrin, zoloft, and lexapro. I gained weight from all of them. I really have gad and not much depression. I wish I could just take ativan but of course can't. I go to the dr. on Tuesday and would like to get a prescription. I am currently taking 5htp and doesn't seem to help much. What do I do?
Ask your doctor about Cymbalta. It's one of the new breed of anti-anxiety meds and might be better for you.
I am on that combination and it works great. I was taking Lexapro 20 mg with Wellbutrin and was fine. How long have you been on Lexapro? My doc started me out slow with a week of 5 mg then 10 mg and so on. I know jumping into 20 mg for me was exhausting. Best of luck.
