cymbalta and wellbutrin combination

I have been taking a combination of Wellbutrin XR and Paxil CR for several years now. I do very well on this combination of medications. I asked my doctor recently about about trying Cymbalta because I have recentently learned I have arthritis in my low back and both hips. I would have to titrate off of my current meds first. His main remark was that if I am doing well on my current meds he didn't recommend the change.

m worried that the combination of Cymbalta and Wellbutrin can cause this. Is the combintation of Cymbalta and Wellbutrin safe? Thanks very much!

Were you on Wellbutrin first and did well on it? Or, were you on Cymbalta first? If you really think Cymbalta is the med causing your anxiety you need to work with your Dr as far as tapering off it. Getting off it can be done. I took it myself and was able to taper with my Drs help until I was completely off it.

I have been on a combination of Wellbutrin (300 mg XL 1x/day), Cymbalta (30 mg 1x/day) and Geodon (20mg 1x/day). I also take 1500 mg Tyrosine 2x/day that has worked wonders. I have been experiencing a lot of anxiety lately that stays with me all day, and a little depression and irritability. I have been taking .5 mg Ativan as needed and I seem to need it almost every day.

In July 2008 I switched over from Zoloft and Invega to Wellbutrin and Cymbalta. At that time, these were my only medications. In August 08, when I stood up from my chair, my legs had terrible tremors. They were so bad that I had to hold onto the desk. This still happens today. I also experience leg tremors when descending stairs - but not going up. I get minor tremors while going from a standing to a sitting position. My right hand has started to tremor - kind of fast but mild.

My psychiatrist prescribed 90 mg. Cymbalta, 300 mg. of Wellbutrin and then, 50 mg. Trazadone before bed. After reading quite a bit, I am concerned it it is safe to take the Trazadone with these other drugs. This is not a new psychiatrist. I have seen her for the past three years and I suffer from severe depression, PTSD, anxiety disorder and possible agorophobia. I just want to make certain I am safe!

I would switch gradually to Cymbalta and see what happens rather than being on both. As for the Wellbutrin added to the mix it could help with libido since dopamine is in play. Both Zoloft and Wellbutrin sounds like something you could try before getting on Cymblata. I don't think you shoud mix Cymbalta with Wellbutrin personally.

May I ask whay your reaction was to taking Cymbalta and Savella together was? You can send me a private message if you don't want to post it. I was trying to go off of Cymbalta and onto Savella and my best description of it was "a living hell." I ended up at the doctors office telling her that my brain was broken. Wondering if your experience was similar.

m not getting the same benefit that I used to and mentioned it to my GP. She has suggested that I think about using Wellbutrin in combination with the Effexor. I've read that this combo can cause a whole heap of trouble - i.e. seizures, liver/kidney function decreases, etc. Has anyone used this combo and what kind of reactions, if any, have you had? I should also mention that I have type 1 diabetes as well.

I'll add my experience here too. I just started Wellbutrin a few weeks ago with the hopes that it would also help me quit smoking. I am one that this drug has done wonders for so far. I feel less anxious and I actually feel like my old self again. I was sooooo crabby and angry for awhile and now I'm not. My husband, especially, has noticed the difference. Apparently I was taking everything out on him, lol! Like others have said here, everyone's experience will be different.

I do think if you keep going with Wellbutrin and Cymbalta you will be doing just fine. Wellbutrin might be unpleasant when taking the first doses, just like any other antidepressant but the side-effects will eventually go away as your body adapts to the medicines. If after 1 month taking both drugs you don't see any improvements then you might consider trying something else but seriously Cymbalta+Wellbutrin is really supposed to give you energy and make you function more normally.

I have come off of a lot of my medications. My final meds are Wellbutrin, Trazodone and Cymbalta. The Wellbutrin is suppose to take the place of the cymbalta. After horrible withdrawal, I came completely off of Cymbalta last week. I became so depressed that I couldn't stand to talk, much less move. All I wanted to do was sleep and be left alone. When I did interact, I was grizzly mean.

s the right way to discontinue antidepressants. And tell your doctor about it too. Cymbalta is one of the harder medications to discontinue and withdrawal can be difficult. But once it is fully out of your system, side effects associated with it should become less and less until it is fully gone. How long has it been since you stopped the med? That is key. Also, there are other depression medications that work with fewer side effects.

how long have you been doing this? I am on 275 effexor and 150 long acting wellbutrin and my starch cravings do me in, So i will research if cymbalta could substitute for the wellbutrin which acts differently that effexor and the cocktail is otherwise acceptable. But if you know somethinghere about cymbalta v. Wellbutrin, I'd love to know.

I can hear your concern and it's good you are really looking into it...It sounds like you are really responsible. I have been taking Cymbalta 60 mg for a few years. If I am not on an SSRI, I get panic attacks and feel generally anxious/scared for no real reason. I wish I could figure out a way to not take any at all- after all, they didn't even have these drugs when my grandma and great-grandma were having lots of babies.

I like my Cymbalta and had very little side effects with it for many years but all of a sudden I started getting headaches and anxiety, sleeping all day and missing days at a time from work. They have switched me to Cypralex now and I am quite concerned it won't do as much for me. Hi. I started wellbutrin xl 150 mg a few months ago after having tachycardia chest tightness and panic. Upped it to 300 mg after a few weeks. I also have clorazepate (tranxene) 7.5 mg for when needed. Then after having tachycardia still I started metoprolol 25 mg (which I cut in half) to help with daily anxiety and lower my heart rate. It has definitely lowered my heart rate but I still don't feel right. Still have an uneasy feeling and tightness in my chest.

to put me on Cymbalta. She lowered the Wellbutrin and put me on the lowest Cymbalta 20mg. and already I feel a difference. The one thing I noticed is, if I don't stay active, I get tired by the afternoon, which I didn't before the Cymbalta. My muscles are still cramping but the intense neurological pain is what has lessened. I'm supposed to raise my dose to 40mg. in a few days, but I think I shall wait a bit longer to see if the 20 mg. will suffice. Maybe less is better.

So my doctor supplemented me with 100 mg of wellbutrin. Well, so far I really like the wellbutrin. It gives a boost of energy in the morning, and I feel my sex drive coming back. However, I feel like it's a little ridiculous for me to be taking one drug to counteract another. Anyone else experience this?

( i had a choledochal cyst removed and a rou and y, and two cysts in/on my liver). now i have massive adhesions that cause tremendous pain. the mayo clinic advised me against any more removal of adhesions unless an absolute must. i take hydrocodone for pain when needed. if that doesn't control my pain i end up in the er. my question is two-fold. i know i need an anti depressant, what i don't know...does the savella aggitate my feelings of overwhelmness and sleep problems.

I have to switch my meds. I have depression and fibromyalgia and am on Cymbalta, but it doesn't seem to be helping me.....my doctor suggested Prozac since it is known to help fatigue better than the other antidepressants (supposedly). Thank you.

Ask your doctor about Cymbalta. It's one of the new breed of anti-anxiety meds and might be better for you.

Hi, I am at present on Lithium and Cymbalta plus Lamotrigine This combination seems to work well for me... I can be 100% sure this does not bring on Mania for me as it is something I miss..... the only issue I do have still is Depression but I know this is caused by some personal issue which is going on in my life at present. I can definitely relate to what you're going through. I've been on a number of medications--Depakote, Cymbalta, Lamictal and Geodon. The combination doesn't seem to help no matter how much my psychiatrist raises the dose. In my case, I have no insurance, so I just have to be patient. It's hard after feeling this way for 3 years. If I were you, I'd give it some more time, because I've heard that ECT makes you lose your memory, etc. Let me know how you do.
