9246447 tn?1402597019 I am sure it could be many things, but you might want to get tested for Celiac disease and vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Are you anemic? I would suggest taking magnesium 500 mg every morning and 400 mg of calcium with 2000 IU of vitamin D at night for your chronic pain.
1141699 tn?1261501160 Then if you have almost no exposure to sun and have no good source of vitamin D in your diet you should consider buying a vitamin D to help the absorption of calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin A, E, K are not to be considered and are found in sufficient amount in your diet and they don't have a strong impact like the vitamin C and vitamins B. One thing you should also consider to help with depression is a natural antidepressant called Rhodiola rosea ( Golden Root, Roseroot, Aaron's Rod ).
Avatar n tn Unexplained bone and muscle pain was found in 93% suffering vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D deficiency is found in 98% of autoimmune thyroid patients. Vitamin D deficiency is usually found in most autoimmune diseases. Vitamin D regulates the immune system. Typically, autoimmune thyroid patients need levels at 80 - 100ng/ml (200 - 250 nmol/L). Natural treatments for pain includes omega 3, glucosamine and chondroitin, and ginger.

Avatar f tn Nutrient deficiencies such as low iron, selenium, zinc, chromium, vitamin B6 and B12, vitamin D and iodine; low testosterone; low human growth hormone; Insulin dependent diabetes; pain; stress; environmental toxins; free radical load; haemorrhagic shock; liver disease; kidney disease; severe or systemic illness; severe injury‟, surgery; toxic metal exposure” Since hypothyroid patients are so often deficient in Vitamin D and ferritin, that is a good reason to have those tested, along with B12,
Avatar m tn Also take vitamin B and vitamin D supplement for a short time. Also, physiotherapy should be tried. Nerve blocks, epidurals and spinal cord stimulators may help (but can be costly). Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
Avatar n tn Do not supplement without being tested because too much of these vitamins can be toxic, but I had similar symptoms as you and was extremely low on both Vitamin D and Ferritin which caused anemia. I have just begun treatment so I do not know if it will clear but I am hopeful.
11197441 tn?1416125474 I missed one and could not get another till the beginning of this month. So I been without Cymbalta for a couple weeks before I finally got to see my Dr. Again, he actually asked if I wanted to get back.on it. Don't get me wrong, for the first week on Cymbalta I felt awesome! I wasn't brain foggy, i didn't sleep too much and I got stuff done.
Avatar f tn All antidepressants have the black box warning of suicidal thoughts and actions. In the cymbalta anti depressant trials, 9 attempted suicides and 4 actual suicides occurred in healthy, non depressed people who volunteered to make extra money. The case of 19 year old student Traci Johnson, healthy with no mental health issues who hanged herself in the cymbalta trials, was big news. When this story broke, clinical trial volunteers dropped 20%.
1378325 tn?1285346625 I have had a lot of relief from Lyrica and did not sleep well until I started it. D-Ribose (only when I remember to take it) really helps. An excellent multi-vitamin, vitamin D, C0Q10, selenium and fish oil may also help. Not sure what pain relievers you have tried but do be aware that Tramadol doesn't work for everyone. It does nothing for me. I take ibuprofen and Tylenol 3's as needed. I hope you find some relief.
Avatar f tn For almost 2 years, I have been, and continue to be, treated for Fibro, Osteoarthritis, Senile Osteoporosis (daily injection of Forteo), high blood pressure and low/none vitamin D, and periods of low white cells. Was checked for the usual, RA, Lupus etc. Nothing showed up. Previous health-worked fulltime around 50 hours a week or more, constantly going and doing, did many family dinners, active runner, won divisional 5k first place and masters and weight trained. BMI is around 20.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know the the relationship between Vitamin D and MS and if you take supplements, will it help prevent relapses? I was just reading something about this from a report from the UK--and their research suggests that it does seem to help. I also wonder if you can give vitamin supplements to children/teens and if that will help to prevent the disease later in life.
1134609 tn?1269272200 I've been tested and have come up with a deficiancy of Vitamin D was told that Vitamin D is like the mortar between the bricks of your colon wall, if you have a deficiancy then the toxins can easily slip through the gaps out your colon and into your blood stream. First stop your liver, then onto your heart and mind. Once your liver starts to drop then it's harder for you to metabolise other vitamins also only making things worse.
Avatar n tn I am on 5 mg of prednisone and cellcept as well. Can I ask why you stopped taking the cellcept? My Dr is trying to lower me off of the prednisone all together and just stay on the cellcept. I was on 10 mg of pred 4 weeks ago, down to 7.5 mg 2 weeks ago and just got reduced to 5 mg. My numbers are staying in great shape, but I am still holding steady on the cellcept. I have been battling AIH for a year and a half. Nothing has worked w/the prednisone accept for cellcept.
Avatar f tn In the report issued today, the committee reviewed studies on the metabolism and physiology of calcium and vitamin D and their influence on health. Dietary reference intakes were determined using the estimated average requirement (EAR; the level at which 50% of the population's needs are met), recommended dietary allowance (level at which 95% of the population's needs are met), tolerable upper intake level, and adequate intake level.
Avatar f tn Have your Vitamin D checked. I also heard that tanning beds do not give you the Vitamin D so not sure about a sunlamp. Coral Calcium has Vitamin D3 so it's a good source as well as most fish, especially salmon. Vitamin D deficiencies can cause serious problems. Mine was just tested at 40 and it was 11.8, well below normal and it took months of arthritis pains, gout, paresthesias, four doctors, etc. for one doctor to say, "Haven't they ever tested your Vitamin D?
