cymbalta

Avatar f tn Namaste, mcmcorp45 offers excellent information and advice and it is true that studies have shown that Cymbalta does note alter the reproduction process. If this is going to be your first child and you are having difficulties, I would consult with a doctor, who may need to refer you to a specialist as mcmcorp45 mentioned. Don't forget to have both parties evaluated for a possible problem.
Avatar n tn Recently however, she has been overwhelmed by school and relationship drama and has emptied as many as 4 pills out on her counter and snorted them. The result is a terrifying tear between getting her help and respecting her wishes for me to stay with her and not get help. She started abusing the drug like this more frequently until it got to the point where her boyfriend and i tried to get her to stop. She ended up fighting both of us off like she had completely gone insane.
Avatar f tn Geeze Louise!! This all scares me - as it should. Yes the same doctor prescribed all three drugs - knew I had just ended use of Norco after knee replacement surgery. I haven't felt any of the above possible results, but I am noticing a repeat behavior of increasing my dose because I start to get a lot of pain in my legs and know that since taking more makes it feel better, my body must be already dependent on it.
376940 tn?1241682007 Hello iam new here I am taking tramadol 50 mgs, neurontin 300mg,hydrocodon-acetaminoph,a pain patch of 25mcg/hr and cymbalta 90 mg. Avatar n tn The only other thing ive been taking is the lowest dose of ativan 3 times daily, ran out about the same time as the cymbalta, and started at the same time as cymbalta, So my question is, is this some kind of withdrawal from either drug? I would think only one month wouldnt be long enough...
Avatar f tn ve been taking paroxetine for about 15 years I started taking them after all are 4 years ago I take 400 milligrams of adderall a day and that was prescribed for seizures. I was recently at the doctor and I discussed my depression getting worse so he prescribe Cymbalta.

1305597 tn?1275336446 What if you control your food intake do you still gain weight. I am on cymbalta and I am never hungry but it is giving me other bad side effects so I am afraid the doctor is going to change it and all the other options I have read about all say weight gain. I also have an eatting disorder and for me weight GAIN is not an option.
Avatar n tn Cymbalta is supposed to be helpful with both. I have any actual experience with it, but it's worth a try- and I think you can make arrangements to get the first month free. Best of luck to you.
Avatar f tn When my husband questioned the doctor, he told him he did not hink the cymbalta did the coma, but I did some research and it shows that cymbalta and Imitrex and relpax are a deadly combination.
237152 tn?1206651036 I have been researching Topamax and all I can find is info. about seizures and migraines. Why would he give me this, and is it addictive? Anyone have any knowledge?
Avatar f tn If it is prescribed along with other medications for seizures then if relief in your symptoms may require tapering of the dose and it might be stopped if no seizures in two years of taking it. Additionally, if it is prescribed for bipolar (mood disorder) then you may require life-long treatment. Though if there is no relief your treating doctor might think to change with another group of medicine, Please consult with your treating doctor for a better insight of the situation. Hope it helps.
Avatar n tn I am experenced in all areas and more. I used neurontin many years ago, and had no ill effects. Avatar f tn Other combinations of pain killers with anti sickness medicines like domperidone and metoclopramide. The prescription medicines like triptans, rizatriptan and zolmitriptan come in various forms like nasal sprays, injections and tablets that dissolve on the tongue and can be used for you since nausea and vomiting is an issue. Prophylactic medicines like propranolol, pizotifen and valproate can be tried.
Avatar m tn Concomitant use of tramadol and serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as fluoxetine increases the risk of seizures and serotonin syndrome. It may also reduce the pain relieving properties of the tramadol. If you must take tramadol, do not take it at the same time as fluoxetine. Try to take tramadol and imitrex a few hours apart from the fluoxetine.
Avatar f tn It is widely misused, and YES addictive.Yes it can interact w/Cymbalta and u should ALWAYS discuss w/ a doctor who prescribed u a prescription if u take another minus their prescribing or knowing about it.
Avatar f tn I didn't realize until very recently (last few days) that I was taking so many pills to help manage my pain. For over three years - Tramadol hcl 50mg tab -- up to 8 a day. For a year -Zanaflex maybe 3 a day For a couple years -Hydrocodone-Ibuporf 7.5 mg normally 4 a day but sometimes more. Avatar f tn I never heard of an antidepressant causing seizure while stopping cold turkey buy you will most likely experience brain zaps which are electric shock-like sensations lasting for a second thru your entire brain and sometimes spreading to other areas. Brain zaps are not to be confused with seizures. Both are extremely different and brain zaps are not dangerous at all. You might have to endure them for up to 1 month, Another description of the medication you want to quit would have been useful.
Avatar f tn I was also put on Lyrica, which I stopped taking, Concerta, which works very well at a low dose, and Cymbalta 60mg that I take everyday. I stopped taking the Tramadol 2 days ago and feel horrible. I have a script waiting at the pharmacy. Do I go pick it up and taper off or keep going since I'm already this far in? Help me please.
Avatar m tn Cymbalta works similarly to Effexor, and is in the same class of drugs. I don't see how you could take both. It's also risky to take two antidepressants that target serotonin, as you can overdose on serotonin. I'm sticking with my opinion here that your doc doesn't seem well versed in this, pharmacists are well trained in how to fill a prescription but don't have experience with using them with a variety of people in real world situations as that's not what they do.
Avatar f tn Since doing the start pack to increase from 12.5 to 25 to 50 and then this weekend 100 mg, and cycling down from the Cymbalta (withdrawals sucked on that one), I am sick at my stomach all of the time and have stomach cramps, and lack of appetite. When I do eat, I get diarrhea and nausia. Is this something that's going to stick with me? Glad to not be gaining weight (the Cymbalta stuck me with 20 pounds in 30 days, so losing would be great, but the stomach **** stinks!
Avatar f tn Your doctor is right. Wellbutrin at 450 mg already has 4 times the risk for seizures as other antidepressants, and the risk goes up by another 10 times if you increase to 600 mg (see http://www.rxlist.com/wellbutrin-drug/warnings-precautions.htm). One option might be to try topamax. It's used off label as a mood stabilizer, it's an anticonvulsant (lowers seizure risk), and tends to cause weight loss. It doesn't work mood wise for everyone though, and not everyone loses weight.
692643 tn?1372611227 My error, I do see you were diagnosed. Normally when BP you are going to have at least, and I mean at least 2 drugs on board for your treatment. The combination you are is a long standing combination of meds but not first choice. Did you get diagnosed by your GP or your psych? Cymbalta is generally not a good choice for BP, as it can cause hypo/mania and serious anxiety.
596143 tn?1226648054 I'm on Cymbalta for moodswings and fibro. Someone posted that they were on Cymbalta and Lamactil and it worked well. Cant find the post. Anyone taking this combination and does it work.
Avatar f tn I 'cold-turkeyed' cymbalta several years ago, and I suffered fatigue, severe mood swings, crying jags and rebound depression. Once I started an SSRI antidepressant these largely went away. Someone else I know had a terrible time with the brain-zaps and other weird sensations even when tapering so it varies widely. I think doctors can use another antidepressant like prozac to replace the cymbalta and then taper that one down to help with the side effects of withdrawal.
Avatar n tn I was put on cymbalta for depression and nerve pain ( RSD ). I hate taking new medicines I know nothing about. I am young and I am afraid of it. I start off taking 30 mgs for a week than increase to 60 than I will get up to 120 at some point. Could someone please tell me something about this drug? Is it safe? Thanks Susan...
Avatar n tn I was on lexapro then cymbalta for years. I ran out a couple times and was very ill. Had the head zaps that feel like electrical bolts going off in your head. Dr said those are likened to mini seizures. My stomach hurt awful, had shakes and runs. They weaned me from those when I asked because they are not only expensive but I didn't like living in fear of w/d and being so cependent on them physically. Dr had me take 1 of cymbalta and 1 zoloft for a few days.
