Avatar f tn s appointment I will be asking (for the second time) for topomax instead of the lithium and lamictal...or at least instead of the lithium....lamictal I am not sure about the weight with that. I only lose my appetite if I am upset (which has always been my habit) but with these pills I have increased appetite. Risperdal was the worse for me....
525545 tn?1293181194 i have taken both of these meds. cymbalta was more stimulating and helped with my back pain. if i remember right, the starting dose is 20mgs. they prescribe this drug to alot of people with fibromyalsia(sp)? take care.
Avatar f tn I've been on Cymbalta now for about a year. It has helped my depression and my energy levels. I'm bipolar also, so I'm on lithium. Without the lithium I felt anxious also. I'm on 60mg. of Cymbalta. At one time my doc didn't think the Cymbalta was working and I went down to 30mg. My depression got worse so I went back upto 60. I am feeling much better with the added lithium, my mood is much more even.
1610967 tn?1314811101 I am currently taking Lithium, Cymbalta, and Geodon and I was wondering if anyone, that has taken these medications, has experienced their food tasting strange. I have been taking these medications for months now and this is a recent problem. I find that I don't want to eat and when I do it can taste a little off.
Avatar f tn Celexa makes some gain serious weight very fast and some lose. Who knows about chemistry. But BE CAREFUL!!!!! Go to a Cymbalta forum and read other comments to make a sound judgement. When getting off, be sure to start another med to help you thru it and not spiral out of control.
Avatar f tn i have a brother who is bipolar and gets worse and worse because he only tried lithium (and for a very short time and he said he felt like a zombie) he badly needs treatment and is getting worse all the time with lots of grandiosity and insane schemes where each time he loses money. he has sent awful emails to family members about lack of care but he keeps disappearing in US and doesn't keep in touch so he's the one who has isolated himself but he can't see this.
Avatar f tn s like can I ever get well - I was placed on Lamictal, Cymbalta and Klonopin - however my doctor upped the lamictal to 400 mgs and the cymbalta to 60 mgs and I had a very severe reaction to it (this was after having been rushed to the hospital in the intensive cardiac care unit because the doctor prescribed lithium when I was on a diuretic for high blood pressure).
Avatar n tn My 20 year old daughter has been vomiting after eating and has had numerous gastro tests done that all appear to be normal. She's also on depression meds (Cymbalta, Lithium and Seroquel), and I'm wondering if it could be Lithium toxicity (a buildup of lithium in the system) causing the vomiting ... hoping to get her to the doc tomorrow ... blood work might be required to confirm that.
Avatar m tn I'm on 60mg. Cymbalta and have been for probably two years now. It helps somewhat for my depression but not good enough. I'm also bipolar, the depression holes being the worse. I have periods of intense creative release, feeling on top of the world, great self esteem. sleeping well, (no extravagent spending) self worthy, etc., etc. Then I slip into the darkness. A switch has been turned off.
Avatar f tn m at my last resort after being on Depakote, Lamictal, Geodon, and Cymbalta. If anyone has had any experience with either of these drugs, I'd like to know what you thought of them.
1487057 tn?1288157745 Hi, I am at present on Lithium and Cymbalta plus Lamotrigine This combination seems to work well for me... I can be 100% sure this does not bring on Mania for me as it is something I miss..... the only issue I do have still is Depression but I know this is caused by some personal issue which is going on in my life at present. I hope this helps in some way. Clive.
Avatar f tn She was monitored (3 days at local hospistal and 4 days at childrens hospital nicu) for the mild symptoms she had, didnt require any treatment (some babies require being weaned off a different similar medication over a longer period of time) and went to a couple developmental clinics at 3 and 9 months old and she is actually developing above the curve. So, its not cymbalta I was on, so I cant say for sure, but in my experience my baby was fine after being exposed to class c medication.
Avatar n tn Went to therapist today, then to prescribing Phyciatrist changed meds to immediate Zyprexa 10mil to calm her down and Lithium. She has only taken the 10mil of Zyprexa and is totally out of it (like drunk or something) sleeping. I'm worried.....already know to cut down the Zyprexa but am afraid to even give her the lithium. Please help...all I get is the same run around and answers from every dr. even the hospital ER....Can you advise what to do?
Avatar n tn I have a somewhat similar dilemna. I was on low doses of Cymbalta with Lithium and Seroquel for several years. Last fall I went off the Cymbalta, and lo, I began to get neck pain, back pain, all of my 'old friends'. What is more serious, I did acquire (or have 'unmasked') a mild case of carpal tunnel, as well as pain in my fingertips. Lithium is usually regarded as the main culprit in the case of peripheral neuropathic pain, and so I am slowly going off of it.
1018335 tn?1270080530 I would like to get off suboxone sometime this year. could i take something like cymbalta and just quit the suboxone - basicly having the anti depressant take it's place in some way? are there any combinations that work with suboxone? I am seeing my phsciatrist tomarrow and would like to have some ideas as far as my medications. this is so confusing, yet liberating that soon i will be functional for the first time in my life. Thanks for your help.
607502 tn?1288247540 My goodness here you are again. I thought you are very well to do and forgot completely about us never thought you were hospitalized. I always had the feeling that you had control of everything. I have new stories to tell you about, still haven't got the courage to take lithium and on and off with my antipsychotics along with some AD's that drove me manic, e.g. cipralex/lexapro, paxil/seroxat. I changed between several pdocs all of them bloody ignorant and arrogant.
599945 tn?1240382354 why do i need to keep taking lithium. am up to 1200 with levels at .97 and have side effects of poor memory, confusion, nausea, thirst, tiredness and no benefits. am still trying not to kill myself because my daughter is still at home, had to put away knives, pills etc and have to stop myself from cigarette burning. I never did any of these self harm (other than suicide attempts!) before i started lithium. i have just come off effexor. and pdoc is talking about lamictal.
Avatar f tn i am on cymbalta for my anxiety and depression and depakote for my bipolar which has worked well so far for me its been a little over a month for me my dr started me out with 500mg a day and i am now taking the adult dosage of 1000mg a day its my 2nd day of that and we will see im on a fmla leave from work since i cant handle disrespectful people especially ones i know ive been thru alot in my 40 yrs and i used to demand it so i understand your anger issues good luck
Avatar n tn Is your wife seeing a Shrink or a regular GP? Some of these drugs take a bit of time, and side effects can be nasty at first. I just started on 2 drugs..and both have made me clumsy and sleepy at time. Lithium, especially in higher doses can be damaging. I know it cause me to gain a ton of weight as a teen - and messed with my metabolism permanent. I now have issues with my blood sugar. If your spouse doesn't have a shrink get her one..and insist.. I will refuse to take Lithium ever again.
20891998 tn?1576631007 Yes I tried Lithium about 20 years ago for depression and bipolar disorder. It did not harm me but at the same time it did not help me.I don't know if the correct dosage was never achieved or if my system just wouldn't accept the medication.Anyway,I'm back on lamotrigine-200MG twice a day.Topiramate 100MG twice a day and have been so for the last 20 Years plus.I also take 60Mg of cymbalta once a day which has also been the case for 20 years plus.Do not take my word for it though.
Avatar f tn I am 31 and been on bipolar meds for 15 years now on cymbalta and topamax but they are causing my blood pressure to drop to low anyone know of any other meds that may help cant take depokate or lithium allergic thanks for the help
