Xanax wont help with energy and depression and it is making you more tired and the same is true with morphine. Is that true, cannot find much info. on that. The problem is the Cymbalta was better with my depression but seems to increase my anxiety and cause me excessive sweating, esp in social situations. I have come off of a lot of my medications. My final meds are Wellbutrin, Trazodone and Cymbalta. The Wellbutrin is suppose to take the place of the cymbalta. After horrible withdrawal, I came completely off of Cymbalta last week. I became so depressed that I couldn't stand to talk, much less move. All I wanted to do was sleep and be left alone. When I did interact, I was grizzly mean.
Cymbalta is for depression (mild to severe) anxiety and other conditions. Why were you put on it? I think you need to take a step back for one second and think about what do you want. Are you depressed? Do you want another child? Is cymbalta working for you? Put it all together for yourself. Why are you scared to talk to the DR? Is it because you want another child? or do you fear that you will be blamned for not being able to have another child?
The average dose for Cymbalta is 60mg per day, and although some doctors do prescribe it 120mg per day...there is no evidence to prove that it helps any more than the 60 mg per day. The maximim dose for Prozac is 80mg per day so you're still below the highest dosage on that one. I doubt your doctor will increase the Cymbalta anymore, and if he tries to...find another doctor! I am taking Cymbalta for my bipolar diagnosis. But I'd also like to take B12 shots (1000mcg/ml) every week. But I haven't talked to my doctor about it. Cymbalta helps and my doctor is monitoring my mood swings closely. But I need something to boost my energy and go through times of anxiety better.
Is it safe to take B12 shots without asking the doctor first? Obvious answer would be No. But do you have other thoughts? I mean, will it have any side effects with Cymbalta?
I was put on cymbalta for depression and nerve pain ( RSD ). I hate taking new medicines I know nothing about. I am young and I am afraid of it. I start off taking 30 mgs for a week than increase to 60 than I will get up to 120 at some point. Could someone please tell me something about this drug? Is it safe?

I have been experiencing a lot of anxiety lately that stays with me all day, and a little depression and irritability. I have been taking .5 mg Ativan as needed and I seem to need it almost every day. I also increased the Geodon to 40 mg a day for the depression and am experiencing worse anxiety and obsessive thoughts, which I haven't had since the last time I was on 40 mg of Geodon. I can't find anything on the web that connects obsessiveness with Geodon.
Cymbalta made my depression worse and made me pretty nauseated. But then, I never do respond to psychotropic drugs or antidepressants very well.
I too suffer from depression, anxiety, and fibromyalgia. I was prescribed Cymbalta to combat all of it. Once your depression gets under control, the others will too. There are only 2 drugs FDA approved for the treatment of fibromyalgia and that is LYRICA, and CYMBALTA. When someone is suffer from depression, it not only affects you mentally but physically. That has been medically proven. Your immune system, cardiovascular, musculoskeltal to me seems the hardest hit.
Hey VicUser, Yes, I have taken Cymbalta for depression and pain. They do help with the pain ....a little, but they work great for depression. They are addictive and must be tapered off of and they are also very expensive, but you probably have insurance, so hopefully that won't be an issue for you. I don't know what mgs you are prescribed, but it's something you should build up to, because they can make you quite nauseous at first, especially if starting out at to high a dose.
I had insomnia and fibromyalgia. My doctor put me on Cymbalta. He said it would help me with sleep and pain. It was 2 weeks of hell, no sleep and constant pain and I wanted to kill myself!!! I was not depressed and have no history of depression. my doctor switched me to amitriptyline. It helps with sleep but not pain, I would never recommend Cymbalta to anyone !
For the first two months he wants me to take the hydrocodone as prescribed and 30 days of Cymbalta 30 mg and another 30 days at 60 mg after that he said he would be able to get me off of the hydrocodone completely but it was unsafe if I didn't do both at the same time. Does anybody have any clarification as to why it's dangerous to quit hydrocodone and go straight to Cymbalta without being on both of them for a .
