I would switch gradually to Cymbalta and see what happens rather than being on both. As for the Wellbutrin added to the mix it could help with libido since dopamine is in play. Both Zoloft and Wellbutrin sounds like something you could try before getting on Cymblata. I don't think you shoud mix Cymbalta with Wellbutrin personally.

a few months ago I stopped taking the anti-depressant Cymbalta and lately I have tried getting back on it. When I have, it has made me nauseous. I only tried taking it a few times. I took Cymbalta and it did help my depression but not my anxiety. I had to add an anti anxiety med to it. I would recommend starting off at 20 mgs. What dose did your Dr prescribe for you?

All ssris and snris have as a common side effect increased bleeding and bruising. It's why they warn against using NSAIDS when you're on them except under a doctor's care. But I would be concerned if it's happening this soon after starting, and I'd also look into the recent concern over liver problems and Cymbalta. I'd talk to my psychiatrist and do some homework to see if this is the best med for you.

Pls ppl, Do not go onto any dose of Cymbalta w/o investigating it thoroughly. Thr is no exit strategy for Cymbalta and its half-life is only 12hrs; IOW, u cld be on Cymbalta 20mg for the rest of yr life b/c u cn't functn w/o it. Most of the ppl who hv tried to wean thmslvs off Cymbalta face awful serotonin w/drawal symptoms. It is not unusual tht Cymbalta patients hv broken the 20mg capsule and eliminated 1-2 pebbles (out of abt 50 in each capsule) per wk. it's a complete nightmare.

I was wondering if anyone here has taken or currently is taking cymbalta and what their experience with it is. My doctor wants me to start taking this at a low dose, I believe it's 30mg once a day, to see if it would help with my pain. She said she can also add neurontin down the road if needed. I just don't know....

I too suffer from depression, anxiety, and fibromyalgia. I was prescribed Cymbalta to combat all of it. Once your depression gets under control, the others will too. There are only 2 drugs FDA approved for the treatment of fibromyalgia and that is LYRICA, and CYMBALTA. When someone is suffer from depression, it not only affects you mentally but physically. That has been medically proven. Your immune system, cardiovascular, musculoskeltal to me seems the hardest hit.

My doctor put me on cymbalta and I really liked it. However, after a month on the drug, my teeth grindind started up again. I mentioned this to my doctor, who immediately took me off the drug because "teeth grinding" is one of the side effects and I had previously been diagnosed with TMJ. I was on Celebrex 200 mg daily, my pain clinic dr also wants to add Cymbalta 30 mg for 7 days then 60 mg. My husband and I want to have children but are not activly trying at this point, it happens when it happens. I just want pain to stop or at least elevate more. SHould I take both together. is it ok to gradually taper off of cymbalta and slowly add in small amount of zoloft.....i am currently on 30 mg of cymbalta, down from original 60 mg for quite a few years.....my neurologist wants me to compl etely stop the cymbalta and start on 50 mg of zoloft, which i do not want to do because of the horrible cymbalta withdrawal, which i am already experiencing at 30mg.....

Did your doc just tell you to stop the Effexor and start the Cymbalta? What dose of Effexor are you stopping at, and what dose of Cymbalta are you starting at? Some people have seamless transitions, while others report some symptoms of a discontinuation syndrome, like you mentioned above. Hopefully, you'll have a smooth transition. Definitely let us know how you're feeling.

My stomach issue was nothing like acid reflux or IBS. It was a totally different feeling. There wasn't any diarrhea or anything. It was just an uncomfortable cramping. It may not do anything like that to you. As I said, for some people, it is a miracle drug so it is probably still worth a try:) And if Cymbalta allows you to take less advil, it's probably a good thing. As for the advil....

I just had a blood test and the Dr. said it might be from the cymbalta that it is showing hep in the blood. Is there any one out there that would know what kind I would get from that and then would it be contagious. Thanks.....

I was put on cymbalta for depression and nerve pain ( RSD ). I hate taking new medicines I know nothing about. I am young and I am afraid of it. Iv been taking celexa for the last four years for depression and anxiety and my doctor wants me to try Cymbalta as my celexa is no longer working and I have been suffering from pain that they believe is nerve related. Iv ready alot of reviews on this drug and not sure if its something I want to take, then again, iv read really good reviews on it. wants me to ween off Wellbutrin XL 300 to WellbutrinXL 150mg for 14 days and to add Cymbalta 30 mg for 14 days at the same time.Then to increase Cymbalta 60 mg daily and stop Wellbutrin. I've read a lot about Cymbalta and don't know if I should do this.

Overall I think Cymbalta is one of the best medication out there but this have a cost. Cymbalta cost is outrageous and Cymbalta is very hard to stop. I stopped cold-turkey after using it for only 5 months and I had brain zaps for a little more than a month. The withdrawal was quite severe but it is expected with all potent powerful antidepressant.

I have a new doctor now (other one retired) and because I have some aches and arthritis, he took me off Zoloft and put me on Cymbalta which helped with pains. I have never been the same as when on Zoloft. The depression freeze of not wanting to get up, go out and do a thing has not left me. I went up in dose of Cymbalta to 120 mg/day from 60 and still it didn't help. I went back to Zoloft and started hurting like the flu. All aches and pains came back bigger than ever.
