Xanax was hard for me to get off of and I was only on it for about 5 years. I took 1mg at night to help me sleep as I had insomnia from an SSRI. By the time I started to go off the xanax, I knew I was addicted to it.
You really do need to follow your doctors instructions on how to come off of xanax... especially after 18 years. You're taking something away from your body that it's had for 18 years and your body is going to give you as much grieve as possible.
Hi im not sure how long ago i decided to start cutting my klonopin in half (maybe almost a month ago) and i was tapering off xanax also anyways i starteed cutting my 0.5 mg klonopin in half and taking 1/2 every 4 hours and i ahvent felt teh best so last night i decided maybe i should go back on how it says on my bottle tot ake them 1 pill 3 times a day..so i took a whole one last night and anotehr hole one this morning and i felt so drugged out and dizzy amd jsust ill.

I am cutting down on the dose of my beta blocker per my Doctor and I was wondering if I have to purchase a pill cutter or can I just cut it with a knife or razor? I am a little anxious because you aren't supposed to "crush or chew" these pills and I'm afraid that if I cut it.......perhaps it will be crumbly.

Imitrex ALSO comes in a nasal spray and an injection. The imitrex tablet should work in HALF AN HOUR. The imitrex nasal spray can work in 10-20 minutes.... same with the injection pretty much. But, if you ever get a prescription for a triptan that is NOT imitrex, make sure that it is a quick dissolve tablet or a nasal spray... the only two nasal sprays I know of are imitrex and zomig (what I take) and the only quick dissolve tablets I know of are imitrex, zomig and maxalt.
Especially since the fibro was discovered (about 15 years ago), my migraines have increased in frequency. The week before last, I had 3 in that week alone. They are typical migraines - severe, pounding headache on one side (usually the left for me), light sensitivity, sound sensitivity, nausea/vomiting. I would typically just try and "ride it out" - taking my normal meds, going in a dark, quiet room and trying to stay as still as possible until the headache, etc., would pass.
I was just wondering if I'm getting the right amound of thyroid meds, I'm on Armour and for the past 6 weeks or so I've been cutting my pills in half,taking half in the morning and half around 3 but sometimes I'm late taking them, will this mess with my levels? Also They just fall apart so I chew them, are they absorbing that way? and I'm just wondering when I get my labs done the 31 will I be lacking due to this method of taking my meds?
I have always had this pain due to a car accident, my doctors have me on propolanol to take in the morning to prevent my headaches, and imitrex for when I do get them, but lately nothing is cutting it. Now with my headache, everytime I take a step when I am walking or turn my head I get very dizzy and light headed. Sunday night was so bad I had to take 2 imitrex and that didnt work, a pain pill, nothing seemed to help, all I could do was cry.
about 5 weeks ago i went out ate a big blt sub, had several heavy beers, the next morning i woke up with a constant taste in my mouth that tasted like feces. nothing i tried helped. i checked for tonsil stones and found none. i am not congested though i do have allergies. i have never had this problem before and i am 32 male.

I really don't think cutting them in half is a good idea. I would assume as Carl said that they are extended release pills that protect you from the virus
for 24 hours. Drink with something like a smoothie or something thick like
drinkable yogurt is helpful. Call "Gilead" and ask. Its better to get the answer
to that question directly from the maker. There is a phone number in the literature that came with the medication. If not... its easy to get online.
Hi Mandy, Imitrex tablets have done wonders for my headaches/migraines. Fioricet didn't touch my pain but even if I take a half of an Imitrex tablet for the nasty headaches that aren't quite migraines yet, I feel so much better. I save a whole tablet or sometimes 2 tabs for the whopper migraines. Imitrex is in a class of medication known as sumatriptans and is not a narcotic. You definitely need insurance for it since it's expensive but the copays aren't bad at all.
Hi Shazzy - the best way to quit any opiate, including dihydrocodeine is to taper slowly. Try cutting a tablet in half and taking 1.5 tabs instead of 2. Then try going longer inbetween your dose so you are only taking two doses per day, then try and reduce that to just one pill per dose. Then try and cut down to 1/2 pill and see if you an go all day by just taking one - move down the dose every few days.
