crestor

Avatar n tn The weakness and aching are signs of rhabdomyalgia which is a side affect of statin drugs. You need to see the doctor that prescribed the meds as he/she needs to check you. I don't know about the shortness of breath. It could be a drug reaction too.
Avatar n tn Has anyone gotten worsening of their PVC's from taking a statin drug? I seem to be intolerant of these drugs and have tried Crestor, Lipitor and Lescol. My PVC's go absolutely nuts when I take them. I have done my own tests by going off and on them. I consistently get worse when I'm on them. I take C0Q10 and a whole bunch of supplements including magnesium to no avail. Any feedback would be appreciated.
907968 tn?1292622204 Both the PCP and Cardiologist want me to go back to my original 40mg Simvastatin and since Crestor has a one month trial offer for people in similar financial situations as I'm in, we're going to try that at 20mg. So, In essence, we're good to go as to the dose, it's just a matter of side effects which with research suggests most effects are similar to Simvastatin.
Avatar n tn After 7 years of therapy taking Crestor and Tricor (fenofibrate), I, too, started experiencing intense pain in my legs, feet, back, and arms. My Dr. took me off Crestor last month but the pain returned within a few days, although not as intense as it was prior to my stopping Crestor. I took myself off fenofibrate just a couple of days ago and "Wow" what a difference! I can actually sleep at night and notice that the pain is dissipating more and more each day.
Avatar f tn I started on crestor, than realized I am ttc and starting not feeling well and am on my ttw...I test for my pregnancy saturday. I took the crestor for 4 days than stopped and its been a little over a week. Should I restart and then stop if pregnant or not bother because of the possibility of there being a fetus? I am just worried about my health.
Avatar f tn I was put on Lipitior and it raised my liver enzymes. Now I am on Crestor and it works great and cholesterol is normal.
Avatar n tn I had been taking crestor for many years and where I worked switched insurances. Needless to say the new insurance did not see it fit to pay for Crestor and I was switched to Simvastatin. I used to never think anything of it but I did not have any of these problems prior to taking this new medicine, I cannot get any doctors to confirm this could be the problem so I chose to quit taking it myself. Seems like I do not have any problem when not taking the medicine.
Avatar m tn I thought this was the gold standard and the American Cancer Society recommends screening every 10 yrs. I have it done every 5 yrs. Should I be concerned that the GI symptoms I described could be cancer of the colon?
Avatar f tn The best statin for hbvers is simvastatin, it has very big trials showing reduced liver cancer and boosting effect of both improved responce to antivirals and peginterferon.the other statins did not show effects on hbv it is mandatory that you check your vitd25oh levels that are 100% defidient due to hbv.this deficiency suppresses immune function, makes high colesterol,, osteoporosis and muscles pains during statin use. the dose of vitamin d3 is 5000 to 10.
Avatar m tn Anyhow, he took a blood test for cancer markers (came back fine) and ordered another round of MRI and blood test in 3 months. 3 months later, my liver functions are perfectly normal (after having stopped using Crestor) and the mass on my liver was stable (no growth). After this next round, the GI was calling it an adenoma and saying there was a 15% chance that it could become malignant and that I should consult with a surgeon. I have scheduled an appt. with a surgeon for 7/3/12.
Avatar f tn Had been on Augmentin for a sinus infection, just finishing up the script, and take Crestor, Nexium, and Zyrtec on a regular basis. Symptoms started a few days after starting generic Zyrtec, which also caused unbelievable dryness that felt like I was dehydrated (no vomiting, though). A day after the chills, I noticed my urine was dark and my stools were very light, almost gray, and I started getting very itchy but no rash.
Avatar n tn However, there is also the risk of liver inflammation due to the medicine Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and it is conceivable that there could be an additive effect of Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and INH. In addition, niacin may increase the risk of muscle disease called myopathy when used with Crestor® (rosuvastatin). Crestor® (rosuvastatin) significantly increases the INR (enhances the effect of Coumadin to make your blood “thinner” than it would be alone.

Avatar f tn But my best lipid results ( raising HDL, lowering LDL and Lp(a) ) came from taking RX Niacin which I take with the 10 mg Crestor and 325 mg aspirin at bedtime. No problems with Niacin either.I take RX fish oil also as I am in big time prevention mode due to cardiac microvascular dysfunction.Fortunately my lipids have never been bad and my larger coronaries are clear but the lipids are only a piece of the total cardiac picture and the possible side effects of meds far outweigh my other risks.
Avatar f tn Hello I have been taking generic Crestor for about two years. It has dropped my LDL to 39-45 range and blood glucose ranges from 105-111 fasting. A1c 5.1 - 5.3. Prior to the statin I was below 100. I am not overweight, exercise consistently and eat very healthy. So the statin is the culprit. I am wondering if being stricter on carb intake and supplementing with Berberine will help? Or has anyone had better outcomes with other statins like livalo or pravastatin?
Avatar f tn s reading of 154. I have been on Crestor for about five years and until now had kept my cholesterol within range. Could a high FREE T4 cause high cholesterol and/or muscle cramps? Thanks.
315318 tn?1353251800 Recently , I was prescribed a fenofibrate (Trilipix 135 mg) along with Crestor. My cardio wanted this for helping in getting my triglycerides down. I have not had a lipid profile done since starting on this med two months ago. However, since being a diabetic , I check my blood glucose (BG) many times during the day and what I am noticing is a clear trend in the BG numbers going lower at least over the last month or so.

Avatar n tn Also taking xalaton and timolol for glaucoma. History of grade 1 transitional cell bladder cancer. Remission for 6 years.
Avatar n tn In January (when this latest blood work came in) it showed that my cholesterol was a bit elevated, so my doctor put me on Crestor. I took for only two months and started having severe muscle pain in my legs and arms. I stopped taking it immediately. I might also add that I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis about three years ago. I was also diagnosed with IBS-Constipation prevalent roughly four years ago.
Avatar n tn 1) In studies comparing equal doses of Crestor to Lipitor, Crestor has been shown to lower LDL levels ~10% and increase HDL levels 2-4% more than Lipitor. Your triglyerides, total cholesterol, and LDL's are in the optimal range, and your HDL level is in the middle. Based on these numbers, there doesn't seem to be a need to switch to Crestor. 2) There is little evidence on the use of EPA alone.
667829 tn?1297978123 t know anything about Crestor, but I did want to welcome you to our forum, and wish you luck ttc!! I would ask your Dr. advice about when to stop taking the Crestor. Take care.
Avatar f tn Thankfully, in the last 2 weeks, my hair has stopped falling out. I am on Pristique for depression and I also take spirolactone, Synthroid, and Crestor. Prescription anti-hystimines don't take this pins and needles feeling out of my skin. I have seen a rheumatologist and I don't have psoriatic psoriasis. My family doctor has thrown up his hands and said the next step is to send me to a psychiatrist. Is there any hope for relief for my skin?
Avatar n tn put on another drug which is not a statin. One year has passed and he still has high CK levels and very severe and weak legs. He tries to exercise but can't do it for long. Calf muscles jump all the time and are tender. He can't walk around the block. He gets cramps in his legs at night as well. What can we do to help this condition? Are there drugs or natural supplements to help build up the damage muscles? What exactly do you think my husband's condition is?
