This winter I got chapped lips and started using Burts Beeswax daily. Went well all winter then last week I woke up and my lips we're so chapped, I yawned and the corners of my mouth cracked. 3 cuts on both sides for a total of 6 cracks.. ouch! Also the areas around the corner are numb. There is a burning pain all day and the edges of my mouth are itchy. This has been going for 4 days now. I've used vaseline and changed to medicated blistex but no relief. Any help would be great.
I was recently on vacation in a very dry environment and developed pretty chapped lips and a "crack" in the right corner of my mouth. I chalked it up to the weather and lack of sleep / hydration. I have now returned home (about 4 days later) and my lips have cleared up with the exception of the corner crack and I have also developed what I would describe as a small whitehead a half inch or so down from the crack, on my lower lip just below the "rosy" part.
I am constantally wiping the moisture out of the corners of my mouth. My lips have a burning sensation inside and out. Mouthwash sets me on fire, but just the anterior portion of my mouth. I have tried many kinds of chapstick. The redness in the corners of my mouth is spreading. It is very embarassing. I thought maybe it was a yeast infection,but i used nystation oral suspension and took 2 diflucan, one week apart without relief. PLEASE HELP.
The cracked lips and the cuts in the corner were most likely angular cheilitis which is NOT an std it can be caused by a vitamin b or iron deficiency or a yeast infection in the mouth. But it's worth getting tested for I guess. Normally oral herpes is blisters not cuts but theres always those rare times.
I tried treating it with blistex but the remained chapped. As a result of my chapped lips I believe I received an infection that must have occurred when my cracked lips encountered some virus or bacteria. I have redness around my mouth, irritation (itching), occasional minor swelling, and dry lips. I went to emergency room when it first started. Thinking it was an allergic reaction, the doctor gave me a shot or benedryl and a hot of cordisone to relieve swelling.
My lips started to tingle, burn, and then presented little white bumps in the corner of my mouth and also little bumps on my top lip that can only be seen when the lip is stretched. It's been like that for 3 months now and I think I'm going to go get it looked at. They don't always burn or tingle and when they do it is only for a few minutes. My only concern is that it doesn't go away on it's own....... Sound like Chelitis?

Sounds like you just have a crack in the corner of your mouth, maybe from dryness. You can always tell about herpes, cause it's almost like poison ivy as a cluster of blisters form, and their will be a tingle with the itching. If a cluster of watery sores come up with a tingle, then chances are, it's a good possibilty that it very well could be herpes. If it itches, get some toothpaste and dab on it. Instantly stops the itch and it goes away within minutes.

until the cracking moved down the lip. The skin in between the center of my lip and the corner ( on my right side) became inflamed, red, and painful. This is when I noticed sun exposure made the lip hurt worse. If not protected it would get really dry and crack and peel/flake. Salty foods, as well as anything with acid tend to make my lips,not just the corners of my mouth hurt.
Maybe it's food from the corner of your mouth or a build up of old chapstick.
Ok im 30wks & the past 3days i have noticed that im always thirsty, like the back of the throat feels so dry & scratchy..

I had cracked and chapped lips that time and it was burning when I was eating food.(very mild burning feeling).And she brushed her teeth before all the activities.I didn't notice any blood in her mouth(if there was).and she sucked my both nipples and slightly bitten it.after all the activities I cleaned the semen from my penis with an unknown peace of cloth.I don't know if any one had used this earlier. This peace of cloth was dry.
And the day after my lips felt really dry and so then we did oral again and now the corner of my lip hurts because I opened my mouth too wide and there looks like there's friction bumps or something.. Can anyone help? I read somewhere that a urine test didn't cover herpes. Are my lips just chapped and cracked?
