cpap

Avatar m tn Hi MyLife, I suffer from the same thing, it's really not as rare as people think (I've probably found a hundred other sufferers online by now). I've had it for 15 years, but only found out it had a name and that I wasn't the only one in the world about a year ago. Yes, it is incredibly embarrassing and frustrating. It has affected my relationships, vacation plans, business trips, and more. I would give ANYTHING to not have to deal with it.
439553 tn?1210776816 Will i more than likely get a CPAP mask to help me sleep? Has anyone else had this same thing happen to them? What do you think the possible treatment will be? i am just tired of being tired all the time. i want a normal life back!
Avatar m tn I noticed I had gained over 6 pounds since starting CPAP. After just one night without the CPAP I dropped 3 pounds, which I believe is all fluids. My question is this: Could CPAP use cause your kidneys not to filter out fluids from your blood? When using CPAP I do not get up during the night to urinate. After one night without using CPAP I did get up to go to the bathroom, my weight dropped by 3 pounds and the pain is greatly reduced.
Avatar f tn t start till June I can go to class next quarter Yahoo. Even if USC changes my mind about who does it I can still push it off till summer. I can't stay home I just can't.
Avatar f tn I walked to the library without stopping and back (with a bathroom break and grabbed a couple of books inbetween) with the walker. I wasn't able to do it without stopping a lot 2 weeks ago. Yahoo. Oh and I started PT exercises on Thursday. It went well. I'm still working on getting off the walker.
Avatar m tn So, I use a CPAP & a few weeks ago I must have fallen asleep while driving as I lost about 15 seconds while driving. A week after that something similiar happened. Then a few days after that I lost a period of time on the table saw & ground up my thumb. I will be doing a home study in a few days with a different machine...Thoughts?
5154541 tn?1366808691 So I usually ask yahoo answers for help...which this time I was not thankful for. I needed help with this one question that I CAN'T find in my textbook. I got to responses saying I was lying, that I won't succeed in life, that I'm pathetic for asking a homework question like this. I feel terrible and now can't even study because of what they said...can someone just...idk cheer me up? I try so hard in college and now I'm so stressed with finals I can't take it anymore.
Avatar n tn I see theres alot of people with this problem but no answers i have seen several doctors and none of them have heard of this. I thought it came from my cpap machine it started back in dec of 07 i woke up one night and had this pressure but at that time i also had a burning so i no longer use my cpap because of this.

Avatar n tn People online have said it can cause brain damage but is this only possible through intentional huffing? People on yahoo answers were apparently trolling me and telling me i had damaged myself, which i think is horrible since i'm suffering from severe anxiety.
1302038 tn?1439575232 Can you call your sleep clinic for a temporary loaner cpap - this is what I did while waiting for my cpap. Also, try to sleep with your head elevated, head and chin pointed back kind of in a cpr position - thereby opening your airway while your sleep. Also make sure you don't eat anything 3-4 before bedtime.
Avatar f tn I am 64 with copd and sleep apnea also. I use a cpap at night with 2 liters oxygen. I use several inhalers. The cpap is designed to push the air in your lungs to keep you from dieing when you stop breathing in your sleep. It also makes your lungs stronger because it forces them to work on a deeper level. How long have you been using a cpap? Do you get along with it ok? I have had mine since November.
Avatar f tn My neurologist has approached therapy for the migraines via medications and extremely adamant toward my use of a CPAP machine for the SOSA. The consensus of this therapy is that the CPAP machine is as important in treating the migraines as the medicine. While the medicinal/CPAP therapy ordered by my pulmonologist has been somewhat successful, everyday headaches continue to be prevalent with cluster migraines still uncontrolled.
505751 tn?1225032462 I have a BiPAP rather than a CPAP, but mine has an alarm that goes off should I not take a breath within a certain time. Little do they know, short of a nuclear blast, it will NOT wake my DH;) I am definitely an amateur - only had it for 2 weeks. It pushes air at my nose so hard that a breath is pretty much "triggered" by all that air confined in the mask area.
1611319 tn?1378618399 I have been undergoing all sorts of testing and so far not a lot of answers. I am on oxygen at home and also started using a CPAP machine this past December. I am 53, female, x-smoker, never ever any serious lung issues in the past. Hospitalized twice since Valentines Day. Minor heart , Major Lung! Have not actually been handed COPD Dx as of yet, but it has been suggested. I am suffering with this tightness in my chest. I am wondering if CPAP or Oxygen level is making me worse?
Avatar m tn I have had severe fatigue, my face and neck turn very red and get very hot and lately I have nausea. I have been to 3 doctors and now I am on a CPAP which hasn't helped the fatigue at all. For 2 months my red blood cells were very high but seem to have levelled out. The fatigue I have is debilitating, I don't sleep but have to lay down I am so tired. My friends and family often ask me if I am okay, we will be sitting around and my face gets beet red and my ears burn.
Avatar f tn Best answer is very useful if you have a bunch of kids participating, like with Yahoo Answers - but even then they'll just rate the ones they find funny.
679466 tn?1247006054 I have mild obstructive sleep apnea. PO2 only drops into mid 80's sometimes, mostly low 90's, but overnight polysomnogram says I have 13 apneic events per hour. I've tried O2 overnight (used neighbor's) and PO2 stays in the high 90's. Is that a sufficient treatment?... or do I need the positive pressure of CPAP. I've tried the CPAP and I've completely failed. Mostly keeps me from sleeping well unless I'm on Ambien.
10929937 tn?1416881806 I love nameberry.com... Also What I have done alot Is Just type on Google something Like " What are Some unique girl names " and answers will come up from websites Or like yahoo answers.
Avatar n tn I have emphsema and sleep apnea. I quit using my cpap machine because I would wake up and not be able to breath. Does anyone else have this situation?
Avatar n tn I have been using a CPAP machine for almost 3 months. From the night I used it I did not wake to go to the bathroom during the night. Although this was nice, I developed a problem immediately (from the first night) with swelling in my legs (calves, ankles, feet) and in my hands. I did NOT mention it to the sleep doctor because It was a month until my follow-up appointment and I never saw it listed as a side effect of CPAP therapy in materials I read.
