Cpap titration study results

Common Questions and Answers about Cpap titration study results

cpap

Avatar f tn If so, a CPAP titration study should be ordered (or a split night study, where the first half is a regular study and the second night is to measure the right pressure using a mask, if you have significant apneas). Even if you officially don't have obstructive sleep apnea, you could still have upper airway resistance syndrome, which I describe in more detail in my other posts or on my website at doctorstevenpark.com.
Avatar m tn I stopped breathing 15 times an hour and my Blood O2 got to 82%.. I dont know, are those results bad or mid range?? I had a CPAP titration last night and slept great. It took a while to get used to the mask but i felt really good today. I hope over time i will be back to 100%. The only thing is that the machine pumped my stomach full of air.. Makes an unpleasant morning!! I will be set up on a machine by the end of the week..
1622896 tn?1562364967 m guessing you were on the med at the time of your titration study, so that influence would have been factored in to the pressure you were prescribed. When you hear warnings about taking sleep meds with obstructive sleep apnea, that's mainly if your apnea is untreated. If you have central sleep apnea, then that's a different story.
233622 tn?1279334905 php To LATW I recommend getting a CPAP with a memory card (so you can see how you are doing without having to pay for another expensive sleep titration study). The card can store your data for months and then it can be printed out in great detail. Also, it's best to have a machine that will adjust its pressures to your changing needs. My pressure can go anywhere from 6 to 14 (it has gone up to 20 in the past so I have it readjusted because at 20 was just too hard for me to exhale).
Avatar m tn Treatment results: During the night, the pt was noted to have OSA with an RDI of 23 prior to CPAP. Nasal CPAP at 11 cm reduced his RDI to 2.7. Lowest desat w/ CPAP was 91.
Avatar m tn with sleep apnea. Did you do a follow-up sleep test (polysomnography with titration)? Or, did they actually put a CPAP mask on you during your test(s) at the laboratory? If not, you may need to see your sleep physician again and have a PSGT (Polysomnography with titration). If your problem is not "simple" obstructive sleep apnea, CPAP/BiPAP/AutoPAP, etc. may not meet your needs.
Avatar n tn I just received a positive result from my sleep study. I was told that you correct it with a CPAP or variant of. I understand this, but what is causing this to happen. I had two sleep obstructions, four nuero, two mixed, and 29 hypopneas. I never went into Deep sleep NR3 or NR4. It recorded I had zero leg movements, but I kept popping off the leads on my legs from moving them. Venting aside, what is the path I must follow to get the underlying cause answered?
Avatar f tn I wake up every 1.5 - 2 hours each night. Sometimes I just drift back to sleep, and sometimes it is difficult to go back to sleep. At times, it is difficult jut falling asleep. I did a sleep study and they diagnosed moderate obstructive hypopnea and sleep apnea. I had always slept well and was never tired or sleepy during the day, and so I have no idea as to how suddenly I have sleep apnea. The problem started for me one fine day when there was absolutely no stress in my life.
Avatar m tn i wont go to bed till i know that i can sleep..im on disabilty so i dont have any times to be any place..so i go to bed at 3:00am..i put the mask on and mess with it so it wont leak..once i get it taken car of,..i fall asleep within 15 min or less..if ur apnea then you know that the 1st 90 min is ( rem) sleep..then within 2-3 hrs you get to level 3 stage..then stage 4.. well i never seem to get to stage 4..i never did on my sleep study..about 30 min there..
Avatar n tn I had a home sleep study done and it came out that I had apnea and they ordered a CPAP titration. I also had some other bloodwork done and i was wondering if this could have anything to do with my symptoms and apnea. B12 --231 (reference range 211-911) Folic Acid --- 20.9 (says supposed to be below 5.4) I know that folic acid can mask B12 deficiency and was wondering if this could be my problem.
559187 tn?1330782856 I just got a call from my ENT who ordered a sleep study for me a couple weeks ago. She said that I need to do another sleep study and be put on CPAP as my results showed medically significant apnea. Ah ha, no wonder I am so tired all the time. I was hopeful that this time the apnea would still be in the mild range and i could avoid having to go to CPAP. I agreed with the doctor to try the CPAP and see if it will help.
4336029 tn?1352988422 I had a sleep study last night in the middle of the nite they put a cpap on does this mean I might have sleep apnea? Or is this just how they do it? I cant see them putting one on that was blasting oxygen with a mask unless I was needing oxygen.
Avatar n tn I'm sorry, but taken out of context, I'm not sure what those numbers mean. Are you reading from a CPAP compliance data report or a sleep study? Are there any labels next to the numbers you're reading?
Avatar m tn I wear TAP 3 appliance. Did a sleep study with Resmed Appnealink Plus. 4 Apnea, 12 Hypoapnea/M , AHI 19, Average O2 saturation 93%, lowest 83% once, pulse h 101, low 50, avg 74 then I wore Auto CPAP s9 along with TAP3 and AHI was 0, All Apnea are gone, O2 average was 95% but lowest desaturation episode was 76%, once, pulse H 104,lowest 47 and average 72 Why does this lowest desaturation event up to 83% occur even with CPAP ? Is this a clinically significant to seek an opinion ?
Avatar m tn Been on the CPAP for the last year. three months ago I had a septoplasty...All went well. Two weeks ago I had UPPP surgery and ever since the first night as soon as I fall asleep I start choking. Seems like even when I'm awake i can take a deep breath through my nose and feel my tonge/throat closing off. I"ve video taped myself sleeping the last few nights and it's happening about every 5 to 10 minutes. I'm choking on the inhale...
Avatar n tn Total sleep time was about four and a half hours, with "77 arrousals 4 awakenings". It's possible you just never got around to REM sleep, as that sometimes doesn't happen for several hours. Most dreaming happens towards the end of our sleep period, and with a high level of sleep deprivation, what little sleep you get could be deeper levels, as indicated by the time you spent in N2 and N3 sleep. You need to find an expert who can interpret your results. Sadly, some (most?
967168 tn?1477584489 When I was diagnoised with a-fib, one of the very first things my EP had me do was have a sleep study. And yes, I do have sleep apnea. I do use a CPAP machine. I have been using it since January 2005. It did help with my a-fib at night. Good luck with the sleep study. Wishing you well, and wishing you enough..
Avatar n tn However, I know that there is more to it than that, because prior to CPAP therapy I did not experience this, and with the increase in CPAP pressure to 12 cm H20 following titration, the swelling is quite severe. More telling is the fact that when I suspended CPAP therapy for almost a week (due to difficulties with the DME provider), the swelling went down (and night time visits to the bathroom to urinate returned).
1572585 tn?1309245054 I also changed machines to an auto-bipap with the EPR off. perhaps you need another titration study?
3227046 tn?1458313476 Dr says bipap use during sleep study is way to go after cpap was not. I couldn't fall asleep using cpap. Normally i fall asleep so fast i dont remember falling asleep. Twice while eating, with partially chewed food on my mouth ,many times in my driveway after a short drive, during movies always..it's unreal.i have no life and beginning heart failure. I'm changed to healthy eating, alkaline, leafy green, organic etc.does anyone think this bioap is going to really help me.
439553 tn?1210776816 I don't understand why the tech stopped counting after 30 - EVERY event is counted to reach a diagnosis. But it is a scoring tech who will interpret your results and give them to the doctor. If your results come back borderline, ask the doctor to review the data for the night to see if the results were accurate. If your study meets the criteria (and you describe what certainly sounds like apnea) you will probably be given a cpap machine.
Avatar n tn i just went for my second sleep study to be hooked up to the cpap. the first one said i quit breathing and was breathing very shallow. once i get my new machine how long will it take to be back to 100%. i could tell the morning after that i did feel a little better and did not have a headaache.
