Avatar f tn My friend's company replaces his CPAP supplies whenever he asks. They give you instructions on how to keep it clean. Obviously nobody wants to do it, but there are consequences. Otherwise they would let you do it the easy way. Now you have unexplained lung nodules, so you will have to get a biopsy to find out what is going on. Nobody here can help you.

12748994 tn?1428334911 This is going to be a very long post. I was diagnosed in March 2015 with hvc. I posted here and felt really good and positive from all the comments and advice I got and was looking forward to my first visit with the specialist I was going to. That positive feeling ended with the appointment but, thank goodness, I am not a depressed person so the bad feeling only lasted until supper. I had my first visit with the VCU doctor in April and while the doctor may be good, their program is not.

Avatar m tn If I have my geography correct, you are currently in the Eastern part of the state, coastal region. Virginia has a wonderful teaching hospital located in Charlotteville near Richmond which would be in the middle of the state I believe. It's called the University of Virginia School of Medicine. I'm not sure, but it's worth checking out to see if they are offering any trial programs. Your medicine and care would be free of charge if you are accepted in a trial.
Avatar f tn I am a 60-year-old female with Hashimoto's thyroiditis. I have no other diseases or conditions according to recent extensive testing. I took pig thyroid for 9 years, but last June 2014 switched to a combo of 125 mcg levothyroxine and 5 mcg of liothyronine daily, because I was allergic to the pig thyroid. Since I stopped taking the pig thyroid I developed depression, and my chronic fatigue has worsened.

961503 tn?1247059639 Go back to whoever you get your cpap supplies from and ask about a full face mask. The chin strap did not work for me....... I had to get the mask that covers both nose and mouth. Hope that helps!
Avatar f tn Pressure support ventilation, where air under gentle pressure is passed into the airways keeping it patent. A CPAP delivers continuous pressure for both inhaling and exhaling. As this supplies continuous amount of air pressure the person has to exhale against this extra pressure. This makes it imperfect or unsuitable for certain people, such as those who are suffering from neuromuscular diseases.
Avatar m tn I see that you are located in Virginia - I am also in Virginia as well. Have you every tried to stop using? Do you have any support that you can rely on to help? At your age, you still have a long life and opportunity if front of you. I went through a detox in Richmond VA in June. It was medically assisted and was much easier than going through cold turkey. I would be happy to give you more information if you are interested in quitting oxy.
