574423 tn?1258658571 I agree u do have to try them, it is one of the reasons I would not order a chiari pillow...there is no way to try it. May I ask, was the cloud pillow expensive?
Avatar f tn I'm having really difficulty sleeping and was advised to get a pregnancy pillow. There are so many out there can anyone recommend a good one please.
7677085 tn?1395374075 I got the mini snoogle that way I can use it for back support and still use my regular tempurpedic pillow for my head. I'm told it helps with nursing after but I haven't got to that point yet. $30 or less if you look on amazon. I returned the full sized one before getting the mini bc it took up too much space in the bed and my bed is a queen. Getting the cover off to wash it is a pain in the neck. Hubby can get it off easy but I can't.
Avatar f tn A sleep number bed? The tempurpedic memory foam mattresses?? Either/or ... they are both pricey - but when you need a bed that won't hurt your back, you pay the price. I would really appreciated anyones/ everyones opinion and suggestions, please!! Thank you, Thank you!
1073473 tn?1257840649 Hello jwles, I am sorry you are experiencing numbness and pain. Did you say the numbness only happens when you lay on a limb, or does it happen all of the time? Sometimes numbness can occur with Fibromyalgia. It's a common neurological symptom of Fibro. I have numbness in my left foot due to nerve dysfunction in my spine. My case is somewhat severe in that I have some other co-occurring conditions along with my Fibromyalgia.
575964 tn?1217559387 One of the things that I have also found that helps at night is to sleep with a special pillow. This is a full size pillow with an indentation in the center. The pillow provides neck support. Because it is a full size pillow it is not going to become misplaced during the night as do some of the other ones which are supposed to provide neck release. I've included the link for this pillow below. You may want to try it.
Avatar f tn I had that same problem. It was awful. Unfortunately the only thing that helped me was the tempurpedic mattress we bought. And those things are expensive! I tried everything before that, nothing worked. Sorry momma. I hope somebody else comes along with a more helpful answer.
Avatar f tn I also have a Tempurpedic pillow, which is good too. I am very picky about pillows. I have one though that has stuffing on one side and the memory foam on the other. It is very helpful for sore bodies. We bought a generic version mattress though, made by a local mattress maker, so the price was a lot less, but the quality was just as good. We spent about $1100 USD, but we didn't buy the box spring. We chose to use our old box spring from our old mattress.
9780765 tn?1405910914 Wished I had checked back on this post back a while ago.. three years since I've posted on my struggles with sleep issues. Anyway, I hope some of my ramblings helped you some. I've not tried essential oils yet, but here are a few other tips that have helped me immensely: 1. keep the room cold w/ a quite AC that goes down to 60 - much more oxygen - just put another blanket on. 2. use an oscillating fan on low - great background noise to keep the sleep cycle going steady 3.
1795856 tn?1319216013 Does anybody own one of these beds? I laid on it for a while in the store and it was PERFECT but it's impossible to tell when you're in the store. I ordered one from the Tempurpedic website so I get the 90 day in-home trial and if I don't like it I can change it out for another model. I've had a double cervical fusion (C4-C6), a Lumbar Laminecotmy (L5-S1) that eventually failed and the disc toe open causing extreme pressure on my right sciatic neve.
Avatar n tn I have been on cpap for 2 weeks now, I have had 4 different masks. I can fall asleep now no problem, but am waking up during the night and taking my mask off. It is getting very frustrating as I thought that this was a magical cure for tiredness but am getting so put off over the whole thing I feel like just giving up, have others had the same type of feeling?
5054005 tn?1362922551 It takes a while to find a mask or nasal pillows that work for you. You just have to keep trying. I made several appointlements with my Durable Medical Equipment provider to go there, and try on a couple of masks before selecting one and trying it. After 8 years, I'm about to start my third nasal pillow, the Philips DreamWear. With this one, I was a 5 month beta tester some time ago, so I have prior experience using it.
Avatar n tn Do I need to scrub the bathrooms and toilets, replace the mattress and pillows? I have a Tempurpedic Mattress which is nothing more than an overgrown sponge. The information I have seen on this and other sites said that one fo the concerns relates to sweat and urine. The reat are so varied in nature that I am not sure if I need to be concerned or not.
297280 tn?1226706405 t work anymore and I start aching and have to reposition everything. Before I go out and buy a body pillow I wanted your feedback. Have those been helpful to you? Thanks!
Avatar m tn I use a CPAP machine, with a nasal mask setting is 15. I do believe it makes me sleep better. However it causes serious gas especially in the morning. I know others have reported this problem but have yet to see a good answer.
565254 tn?1224716453 I have recieved since march was a new pillow. My husband bought me a - tempurpedic contoured memory foam pillow. It was a little expensive, and a little akward to sleep with at first, but worth it. The constant chiari pressur headaches that I had for nearly 2 years straight are almost non-existant. And I can't remember the last time I had neck pain from my syrinx. I really do attribute it to the pillow. And I recommend it to everybody.
1054090 tn?1343965695 If you do have sleep apnea, the treatment is that you will sleep with a CPAP machine. It stands for Continuos Positive Air Pressure. You wear a mask that blows air down your passages to keep them from closing when you sleep. Cause when they close is when you stop breathing. Id it is determined you have sleep apnea it is vital that you wear the cpap eveytime!! You can die from sleep apnea just as easily as a baby can die from sids.
107693 tn?1252864443 I am having a hard time gettting use to the CPAP. I asked for the nose pillow when i got the results, thinking that i would like it better, It has been two weeks so i asked for the small mask. I was also told that i need to use CPAP with the water. When i wake up I find the need to take it off, then when i go to put it back I get very anxious, palpitations or it feels that my heart is racing. So i sleep without it. I have thyrothis with six nodules. had a FNA results were negative.
287996 tn?1312023682 Hey chevy man. I've seen you around here for a long time. How about more details on the elevated pulse. How fast is it? and When does it occur? I too wear CPAP. I've used it for the last 6 years now, and it no doubt has saved me from an early, painful demise as I had very severe obstructive sleep apnea. Prior ro getting on it, I had been waking up with a pounding pulse in the middle of the night. It wasn't SVT (which I had), but an elevated and pounding pulse.
Avatar n tn I have sleep apnea and was using the cpap machine but used it only once cause i could not at all sleep with a mask on my mouth and I could not aford to pay for it. So I returned it ,but now i cant sleep and during the day at abut after 12 noon i feel really tires and headaches and very sleepy . So i take caffine pills everyday to stay awake. I know taking pills is no the answer and I should be using the machine. My question is is there any other way to cure my problem with out the machine.
Avatar f tn I started using a tempurpedic contour pillow. It makes a HUGE difference. If I don't use it I am more dizzy and tired and in pain the next day. They're expensive and they take some getting used to but they're totally worth it.
3197167 tn?1348968606 Pillows - they are my specialty. I have every pillow under the sun. Right now, I'm lovin this pillow made by Serta. I have all the $100 Tempurpedic pillows, but this Serta pillow is my favorite. It has the memory foam crap in the middle, but this super soft wrapper sort of thing around it. It zips open so you can wash everything but the memory foam. You can get it at a bed store that sells serta or probably at bed, bath and beyond.
1040373 tn?1273687488 Hi everyone! Just curious what kind of mattresses you guys sleep on. I wake up most nights with back pain. I have a pillow-top right now but I'm in the market for a new one. Can anyone recommend the right type of matress for people with back pain?
