cpap

Avatar f tn I use a contour pillow with a very soft, light feather pillow on top. This is the ONLY thing that helps me. Good luck.
Avatar m tn t know if it would help or not, but I have to sleep with The Original Contour Pillow. It tips my head back and keeps my neck happy like no other pillow. This one: http://www.contourliving.com/p-32-original-contour-pillow.aspx I do not like the other brands at all. This one has two different heights. Turn the pillow one of two direction for the neck support you prefer.
1759188 tn?1324678308 Hi Sandy- My head is extemely sensitvie- I went out and got soft contour pillows- I use a regular one underneath and the contour one on top- It is not a Chiari pillow- there are no zippers- but it works fantastic and it goes every where with me now. It cost me around 75.00 for two of them...
Avatar f tn t go without it!I love being able to Contour it around me. I still use another pillow behind me to keep me a bit propped up so I don't lay flat b.c of my horrible acid reflux but this is worth every penny!!
Avatar f tn You can buy one of those pregnancy pillows that you can hug that contour your body. I have heard great things about those.
Avatar f tn Have you tried a body pillow yet? You can contour them around your body until you get comfortable.
5054005 tn?1362922551 It takes a while to find a mask or nasal pillows that work for you. You just have to keep trying. I made several appointlements with my Durable Medical Equipment provider to go there, and try on a couple of masks before selecting one and trying it. After 8 years, I'm about to start my third nasal pillow, the Philips DreamWear. With this one, I was a 5 month beta tester some time ago, so I have prior experience using it.
1054090 tn?1343965695 If you do have sleep apnea, the treatment is that you will sleep with a CPAP machine. It stands for Continuos Positive Air Pressure. You wear a mask that blows air down your passages to keep them from closing when you sleep. Cause when they close is when you stop breathing. Id it is determined you have sleep apnea it is vital that you wear the cpap eveytime!! You can die from sleep apnea just as easily as a baby can die from sids.
Avatar f tn m not sure that your headaches are caused by the CPAP machine. Sometimes, fatigue will cause them. You mention that the headaches are worse when you don't sleep well. That's a good clue that fatigue is the issue. I know that I get them too if I don't sleep well for more than a couple of days. There could be a number of other explanations - like sinus issues - that could cause your problems. I recommend you go to a sleep apnea forum at: www.apneasupport.org.
107693 tn?1252864443 I am having a hard time gettting use to the CPAP. I asked for the nose pillow when i got the results, thinking that i would like it better, It has been two weeks so i asked for the small mask. I was also told that i need to use CPAP with the water. When i wake up I find the need to take it off, then when i go to put it back I get very anxious, palpitations or it feels that my heart is racing. So i sleep without it. I have thyrothis with six nodules. had a FNA results were negative.
Avatar n tn I have been on cpap for 2 weeks now, I have had 4 different masks. I can fall asleep now no problem, but am waking up during the night and taking my mask off. It is getting very frustrating as I thought that this was a magical cure for tiredness but am getting so put off over the whole thing I feel like just giving up, have others had the same type of feeling?
559187 tn?1330782856 If you now must sleep on your back then using a contour-type pillow that bends your head back slightly may help, as this opens your airway somewhat. I don't know your full medical history, but if these problems persist, you should consider a formal sleep study sooner or later. It's been shown that you don't have to snore or be overweight to have sleep-breathing problem. Take a look at my articles on sleep position, upper airway resistance syndrome and obstructive sleep apnea.
Avatar m tn I use a CPAP machine, with a nasal mask setting is 15. I do believe it makes me sleep better. However it causes serious gas especially in the morning. I know others have reported this problem but have yet to see a good answer.
Avatar f tn Did you try the nasal pillow or nasal cannula? The nasal pillow goes over your entire nose and the cannula goes right up into your nostrils.
287996 tn?1312023682 Hey chevy man. I've seen you around here for a long time. How about more details on the elevated pulse. How fast is it? and When does it occur? I too wear CPAP. I've used it for the last 6 years now, and it no doubt has saved me from an early, painful demise as I had very severe obstructive sleep apnea. Prior ro getting on it, I had been waking up with a pounding pulse in the middle of the night. It wasn't SVT (which I had), but an elevated and pounding pulse.
Avatar n tn I have sleep apnea and was using the cpap machine but used it only once cause i could not at all sleep with a mask on my mouth and I could not aford to pay for it. So I returned it ,but now i cant sleep and during the day at abut after 12 noon i feel really tires and headaches and very sleepy . So i take caffine pills everyday to stay awake. I know taking pills is no the answer and I should be using the machine. My question is is there any other way to cure my problem with out the machine.
Avatar m tn On my last CT scan of abdomen (liver/kidney) the doctor writing the report states, "Slight contour abnormality within the right kidney corresponds to an area of irregular enhancement, measuring 2.2cm in size. (6 month prior scan by another doctor read 16mm). Impression: "Ill defined hypodensity in the posterior right kidney as above, also stable in size. Appearance remains indeterminate.
Avatar f tn v=HUaev2xMTMk Finding a pillow that works for you is also very important. For me it is The Original Contour Pillow. I have only been able to find this on line. It was not very expensive last I ordered one. Around $20.
Avatar f tn I noticed that when the baby is asleep, my back and waist hurts most. If you don't already, sleep with a thick pillow between your legs and always keep support at your lower back when sitting. Hope this helps!

Avatar m tn I have used a cpap for 10 months. My most prevalent problem is that the exterior of my nose tickles as though a feather is being brushed against it. I use a full face mask most of the time. I have tried applying Vaseline and various other moisturizers to no avail. The only thing that has seemed to help to a limited degree is "AquaPhor" daubed on my nose, not rubbed on.
