He was ordered an MRI and they discovered Chiari Malformation 16mm. We live in Buffalo NY and saw a surgeon who wanted to perform surgery. We want to get a second opinion from a Dr. in Rochester NY.

Donuts, potato chips, spicy Thai food, Chicken Katsu, Panda Express Fried noodle, Hot Dogs, Deluxe Pizza, Pepperoni Pizza!! (Yes I still have my "strong" 7% HIDA gallbladder) Didn't seem to work. Eating low fat is still the way to go. I still have to stay on the vitamins. Unless there are other bile salt replacements out there I can try, I am going to layoff the pills for a while for comparison.

I have High Cortisol and High Glucose,, beacuse of the hump and weight gain my doctor says Cushing's,, but again,, could it be another type of thyroid disorder? Thank you.

I was reading and saw where a pt had a buffalo hump.....cortosols are out of whack......the pituitary is out of whack...... I used to work for an endocrinologist. Go get it checked! Now!

I know that they are going to put me on a cpap machine. I know I would do okay with the mask that is just the two little prongs that go in your nose. However in the past when I have had surgery I have gone crazy when they have put the mask over my mouth and nose. I have always had very bad allergies and can not stand to have anything touching my nose and mouth. So I was wondering how do they determine what is the best mask for you to have?

Shhhhhhh - your brain and body are listening. Give yourself some positive self talk, such as... I can do ANYTHING for just 30 days. Sleeping in my own home and bed will be nothing like in that lab. I'm going to take advantage of this change to get 30 days of real quality sleep. I'm glad that CPAP increases my likelihood of a good surgical outcome and recovery. I'm glad the next 30 days I will be at reduced risk of heart attack and stroke.

since using cpap machine started swelling in feet,ankles,hands and stomach. stopped using machine for 4 days swelling went away. started using again for 3 days swelling came back.
