Our son is a bottemless pit when it comes to eating. Last weekend he was coughing violently and was put on zithromax thinking it was a sinus infection. However, how his cough, while subsided, sounds horrible. I heard a commercial for pertussis and that's how his cough sounds!
Would whooping cough make him not want to eat? He takes two bites of something and that's it. No fever, very active, some diarrhea, and this 'cough'.
My wife just called and the doc put my 2 year old on Zithromax for a week and also perscribed a cough medicine to help him sleep at night. The doc also prescribed a medicine for the nebulizer that will help stop the bronchial spasms so when the coughing does occurr it won't last for 2 minutes straight and he can catch his breath.
My 2 year old had pneumonia 3 months ago and made a full recovery after heavy duty antibiotics... a week ago he developed a cough that had him coughing about three times in a row every 4 or 5 hours. About 3 days ago he started coughing at night. He would wake up about midnight cough 3 or 4 times hard and repeat about every three hours. Last night he coughed about every 1 to 2 hours and coughed so hard he almost threw up several times.
Ive had a cold for over a week and been wheezing for 4-5 days. coughing real bad it hurts my chest. Today I noticed 3 fairly large bumps on the back of my tongue that dont hurt. they are on both sides by my tonsils. Just wondering what this could be!
It started as a sore throat which quickly moved to my chest and now im wheezing and coughing like crazy. Nose is running slightly but not crazy.
I was at the doc for a previous test result and she heard my chest and prescribed Zithromax saying that it could be a chest infection.
I don't want to take antibiotics for what feels like a regular cold after only 3-4 days.
My mucus is white, my throat is not swollen.

my son is almost 2 and was diagnosed with whooping cough about a week ago, and put on zithromax and its not really helping. We cought it early so I figured the meds would do some good, but thats not the case, my son wakes up every night coughing so bad that he cant breath and then he vomits. the doctors are saying this is pretty normal for whooping cough. But it is scaring the day lights out of me and I need some advise about what I should do.

I have a cold with a bad sore throat and am taking Zithromax and Promethazine with Codeine.
I did not sleep at all the night before because of the coughing but last night/this morning I took my cough syrup twice and everything I tried to fall asleep I got "jolted" awake and then that went away and later when I try to fall asleep either: it felt like my heart skipped a bit or I seemed to be exhaling a long time/loss of breath.
Should I be concerned?
s name due to privacy, they did say that no one has tested positive for hiv in that certain club. so i became paranoid and self prescribed myself with 2g of zithromax for other STD. the following week i took again 2g of zithromax to be sure. when i git back here in california i took a full std test including hiv antibody blood test at 5 weeks seince exposure which all came back negative.
Same symptoms. I went back to the doctor and he said as long as my phlegm is clear not to worry.
Week 5: Went to another doctor for a second opinion. She said my throat is red and gave me some antibiotics called zithromax.
Week 6: Less Phlegm but my ears started hurting and I had some pain under my jaw. Like 2 lines. Went back to the doctor and she gave me a nasal spray to reduce the phlegm in my throat. She gave me another prescription for zithromax.
It probably slipped down your esophagus and got stuck halfway or slowed down in the middle (might explain the pain) until you drank more water. Many antibiotics make your stomach feel like that, zithromax does that to me. I have done this myself a few times and it is uncomfortable. IF it landed in the lungs, you would have known it...
The physician decided that my daughter (10 months) is suffering from inflammation of blood after we conducted lab. test and X-ray for her. Now she is coughing and releasing a rumbling sound from her chest. He gave her a prescription of (Ascoril + Fenistil drops + Zithromax 300mg), and he described the antibiotic as safe. Doctor gave me rocephin injection, and put me on zithromax and diflucan prior to the gonorrhea and chlamydial test. I also had HIV testing, syphilis test, and herpes test.I took the zithromax and diflucan but for a week the the symptoms still continued. 4days later Doctor's office called me that they didn't able to process my gonorrhea and chlamydia test due two samples were put in the same tube and that they had to throw away the whole sample.
But, we followed her treatment of Qvar and albuterol inhalers, oral steroid and even zithromax (because 3-4 weeks in it turned into bronchitis) and none of that helped the cough. In other words, the albuterol doesn't seem to do anything positive for him.
Is this really asthma? His coughs do have a tendency of turning into bronchitis. They always have to get really bad before they get better. Considering this last for a month or two, it is very rough for everyone.
along with a COPD exacerbation with sputum not clearing the usual way with Zithromax... The kicker..my roommate I believe had MRSA because of a variety of facts too numerous to go on with. She was 86 and admited the same day I was with an infection in her foot that was the consequence of a recent removal of melanoma on that foot (!?).
I was then getting a lot of allergies and post nasal and was then coughing. Doctor prescribed Prednisone,Zithromax, Acyclovir [for cold sores] and Clindamycin cap 300 mg for sinus infection. Just lately I got acid reflux.... hard to swallow... even when I did it was bad... slight burning to severe burning feeling on the left hand side of my mid upper chest area. I went back again to see the doctor who told me the coughing, wheezing [which now both had stopped...
I see from your comment you mentioned the chest pain could be from coughing but I am having hardly any coughing these days, that has resolved. The chest pain under the bottom of my ribs comes on late afternoon - should I go back to my GP as it is concerning me, should I ask for a chest x ray as my bloods and sputum sample are ok?.
I share a bed with my sister and she got sick as well a week ago. started coughing and a fever. dont know if this is related to Gonorrhea?

I was given zithromax pills to cure an infection, the pills were to big for me to swallow so I let them dissolve in a little water, then drunk them. Will they have the same effect even though I did not swallow them whole????
