i was previously diagnosed as fibromyalgia, lyme disease- because i had so many symptoms in different body symptoms. just recently, i had a bad cold and coughing and also a test done where a tube was stuck down my nose and throat to test stomach ph (one of the many bizarre tests i have had done recently).
It seemed to go great and was no complications. She is now 5 and has been coughing pretty hard. I just noticed her whole stomache area and it apears swollen from under her breats to right above her privates. I am wondering if the surgery wasn't done properly could it have messed up and be leaking fluid into her abdemon area. It almost looks as if she is pregnant and feels swollen for full of fluid. Could something happen to the muscle from all the hard coughing?
Rather than going into detailed scenarios I would like to ask a few questions in regards to exposures, symptoms and testing.
I hope I am foolish to be asking.
1. Would being sick with flu effect the amount of antibodies in your blood and thus impact the accuracy of the test result when taken during this time?
2. While flu symptoms and fever are consistent with ARS, after one of my experiences I had bad bronchitis/chest infection, which had heavy coughing and required antibiotics.
Since we are talking about coughing. I had a few questions of my own. I have had issues coughing for the past 4-5 years. I caught constantly. Sometimes it makes my headache worse but sometimes I don't have a headache so it doesn't bother me. I do have sinus disease as per my MRI. So that explains the post nasal drip. I always have problems coughing whenever I am near or around water. For example I cough so much in the shower that sometimes it will make me throw up or gag.

I just have a few questions regarding pneumonia, and how easily (or difficult) it is transmitted in healthy young adults.
Context:
My girlfriend's aunt recently got hospitalized due to pneumonia, and my girlfriend has been taking care of her for about 3 days now. Now this may sound stupid and selfish, but my concern is her and me catching pneumonia too.
If the fluid is due to an active bacterial infection (yellowish color of expectorant) you can endanger others by coughing and aerosolizing bacteria. As a rule of thumb, you will be contagious until the expectorant disappears or becomes colorless. It is best to stay away from the eldery or those with compromised immune systems while experiencing active bacterial pneumonia. The use of prednisone with these infections is controversial.
Does coughing make the herniation of the cerebellar tonsils worse? I am have nasal congestion and the drainage is causing me to cough. It is causing me tremendous pain and I feel as if my head is about to burst. I am taking meds and cough drops in order to prevent spells however, they persist. Will this worsen the chiari symptoms and herniation? Thank you for any resoonses I am new to this diagnosis and forum.

I've gotten sick /flu/fever 3 weeks ago..Usually my coughing and body aches last about a week..but my coughing has not gone away. I am a smoker for 9 years..but never experienced coughing like this. I cough severley only at night while I'm sleeping..but then the coughing gets better during the day. This coughing has been lasting 3 weeks..and the severe coughing at night which wakes me up has been about 4 days. Is this a sign of HIV or STD?
I have been dealing with this issue for years and have been told that nothing is wrong. I can not laugh anymore without coughing violently. I do have a history of allergies and no history of asthma. It hurts me and seems to only be getting worse. I was told that it may be a sign of asthma, but why now? When I start the coughing episodes, I notice that I have some sputum, but I don't let it out. What could be causing this?

It states you posted your comments 16 hours ago. I think it's time to get a
second opinion. Don't know what proair is. I'm guessing it's an asthma
medication. Asthma as you know can get quite serious. Perhaps you
should seek medical attention for your daughter. By this I don't mean taking
her back to the pediatrician. I think you might consider going to your nearest
hospital and going to the emergency department.
In the past week or so i have been coughing a lot. Its been getting worse and worse everyday and my throat is actually starting to hurt now. I dont really know what is wrong with me. If you guys have any questions for me that would help you determine what is wrong feel free to ask.
Doctor asked if I had any grey or milky discharge but because I was so anxious and freaking out I said no but I thought about it when I left and I actually have had a slight bit of it. I did go to the er a week ago because I was sick and was coughing so bad I was coughing stuff up but that is separate I think. During the journey he was sneezing and coughing. My anxiety was getting more and more as the time went on. Okay, I've been fighting a cold for over a week now and have been coughing a lot. I have these episodes where I experience a sharp, stabbing sensation at the base of my throat. This triggers a virtually uncontrollable coughing spell which lasts for about 3 minutes or so. The more I try to fight the coughing, the worse it gets. Now its been about two weeks since the encounter and I been having headaches that come and go away for about a whole week they usually go away if I eat something. Also, I been sneezing, coughing and my throat is sore in the mornings but it seems to be fine the rest of the day.
