At the beginning of the month I got the upper respiratory virus that was going around so did the kids. all three of the kids stopped the coughing withing a week (so did the co-workers) I have asthma but I cannot get rid of the productive cough.

I live in Florida were it is really humid, and when i go outside during the day ill start coughing. I dont have asthma, i just start coughing at random.. sometime i could be just on the computer and it will start. Sometimes my chin will start itching during it, and the mucous is always clear if any at all. Not sure what it is, but im tierd of it. I really want to get back on my workouts but cant. Hi i have a 12 year old male staffie who has had 4 seizures over the past 4/5 months other than this and a few fatty lumps he eats well runs around and is very happy but for the past few days has started coughing normally first thing in the morning and when excited cough sounds like he has some thing stuck in his throat any advice ??

First of all stack those pillows up i.e. sleep in a higher position. Second of all see a respiratory specialist. I did and I feel better now. No more crazy coughing.

In the meantime take OTC acetaminophen, try to take warm oral fluids and do steam inhalations prior to your meals. This helps to loosen up and bring out the secretions. t know what started it, what changed to start it., or why it happens. I am tired of coughing all the time and am sure the people around me are tired of hearing it. I went to a doctor who tested me or allergies and said I am allergic to nothing. She did a chest xray which came back clear as well. I was told yesterday at the hospital that my inflamation of my abdomen is cause of coughing in which coughing is from withdraw. I had a long talk with nurse she lost her daughter to Opiates.
