Common Questions and Answers about Coughing in humans

coughing

Avatar f tn You may have noticed this yourselves . There's this weird psychic layer in life that's on top of normal, simple life and normal communication. In this layer anything goes, behavior is odd and spontaneous. People are talking normally, and then suddenly behave erratically. Coughing happens on this layer and so does other behavior like psychic attack or falling psychic victim and feeling entirely wounded. So this psychic layer is new to us humans and unguarded territory.

Avatar m tn is there a common sensitivity to aeroallegens in shared environments?. [Review] [83 refs] Source Environmental Research. 109(5):634-40, 2009 Jul. Abstract Cats spontaneously develop eosinophilic airway inflammation and airway hyperreactivity that is very similar to human allergic asthma. In addition, household cats share environmental exposures to aeroallergens with humans.
Avatar n tn My chihuahua was just in the vet the end of December for her annual shots and a check up. Her heartworm was negative at this time as well. She is a house dog, she uses a litter box and never goes outside when it is cold. She is playful usually. Lately, she has been having attacks where she is gasping for air and wheezing with a panicked look on her face. She then coughs up some foamy spit. I can usually help stop this by calming her down. This happens when she gets excited or hot.
Avatar f tn Crystalline silica is indeed dangerous (when inhaled) to animals and humans, but common glass is made using a silicate that is melted and cooled in such a way as to form an amorphous silica, which is not crystalline, and not dangerous when inhaled. OSHA defines glass dust as a "nuisance dust" and generally benign. Of course, as is practical, dust of any material/type should not be inhaled regularly or in large amounts.
Avatar f tn If you feel worse and do not feel improvement or feel heavy, or a noise in breathing or your swallowing gets worse I suggest you go into the ER immediately never assume that your Doctor knows exactly whats wrong with you their humans and once in a while make mistakes its always good to get a Second or even Third opinion. Keep me updated. God Bless You! & may they find whats wrong with you and fix the problem that's causing the problem.
Avatar f tn It all started when I was 12 or 13 years old. I started to smell badly. I heard how my classmates spoke about it. But my authority was high, so I somehow got into the end of school. At the university, I noticed that my presence causes allergic reactions in humans. It's very weird when you're just in the room, and most start shaking your nose, coughing (but not all that is even more interesting).
Avatar n tn ugh, I was going to say an allergy. I would consider another vet visit to go over why the cough is worsening. Long time steroid use in humans isn't good so imagine the same for a dog. Let us know what happens, okay?
Avatar m tn The purpose of patents is to protect ideas that investigators hope to investigate. There is no credible evidence that I am aware of that FIV causes disease in humans. Please do not worry and do not worry about your cat, the possiblity of it infecting you or you infecting your girlfriend.
Avatar n tn For the past 3 days she has been coughing, honking and has the sniffles. Last night we bought a vaporizer to help rid the symptoms. Is there anything else I should do? Bennadryl? Robotusin? How much is should we give her? Thanks.
554422 tn?1220575366 LOL! Humping behavior in dogs is more about dominance than sex. Your pom is simply making it clear that he is above your other dog in the pack order. Generally, it's best to discourage mounting behavior because it can lead to a fight. In your case, if Crystal isn't bothered by it I wouldn't worry about it. If Tuffy starts humping humans, however, it needs to be made clear to him that he does not "own" humans.
Avatar n tn Occasionally the kennel cough vaccine can cause a transient minor kennel cough in the recipient, Just as the flu vaccine can cause flu like symptoms in humans after vaccination. Or she could have additional problems as I mentioned previously. No vaccine is 100% effective, and if the coughing is that severe she should be on medicine to surpress her cough, because the cough itself can cause irritation, and pain.
3181540 tn?1344550924 Reasons for Coughing: OK, For starters, you need to rule out Heart Problems....The xray will not only show the heart, but also the lungs...This is important.... With Heart Disease, the weak heart cannot pump as well...Fluid builds into the lungs causing the cough..The cough is usually MOIST like they're choking on congestion...Actually, they are...The cough is worse in the mornings & during periods of running, playing & excitement....Fluid will show in an xray.....
Avatar n tn Please address this issue with the dog's vet. However, indeed, as in humans, this most likely represent severe mitral regurgitation that at this point needs to be treated with afterload reduction and diuretics.
Avatar f tn As the feline coughs, she leaves behind some pellets apparently from coughing so hard and if it continues she may return the animal to the shelter. Is there something homeopathic to try? Its just so hard for pets to be adopted out at shelters I just want to suggest something.
Avatar m tn That certainly begs the question as to why you're asking whether or not dog-herpes can cross over to humans. And to answer your question... NO. Dog herpes can't cross over to humans. But just because it doesn't, doesn't mean you should take the risk of doing whatever it that you're doing with your poor dog. Please tell me you're not...
Avatar m tn As for the heart murmur, the treatment depends on exactly what type of heart defect is causing the murmur. Since your vet predicted that the dog would start coughing, and the dog has in fact started coughing, I take it that it is not a benign murmur. In my nonprofessional opinion, most likely the murmur is due to valve disease, and the cough is a symptom of congestive heart failure.
Avatar f tn i have been having diarreah and when i have to go i get bad cramps start sweating and i have to go right away or there will be an accident.
Avatar n tn Steroids are useful as needed for allergy season that can be a trigger.....Dust mites in the house affect this a lot (Especially in the winter when the heat is on and the house is closed up tight).......It seems they breath better outside.....Something else: Dust Mites in DRY dog food alone can trigger this.....This disease can be controlled for years once you know what to do..... There's a common cough called A "Reverse Sneeze"...You can google it to know what it sounds like.....
Avatar f tn Category C Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
1756475 tn?1330538713 I have a 12yr old yellow lab and over the last few months she got a really bad cough. the vet said it was not the worse that he has seen but he said there wasnt' anything we could do about it. She's 12 and before the cough you wouldn't even know how old she was. Over the last 2 days she has suddenly lost the ability to control her bladder and if its not that she is puking everywhere. She's been coughing and passing gas for a while but now it's not just gas.
Avatar n tn (I am a nurse and am familiar with these things in humans, but it seems dogs get so many of the same things as humans) He probably was in CHF for a long time, which would explain his slowing down over time. The flea allergy was nothing you could have prevented and he needed to be treated. You did the right thing by taking him to the vet. I think it was just an unfortunate series of events. I think he was going down hill anyway, and probably wouldn't have lasted too much longer.
Avatar f tn High concentrations are really dangerous, but low concentrations could be tolerated by other humans. You can have a blood test to check the levels of ammonia in your blood, but I’ve not got round to investigating it yet. I’m convinced it’s a gas or a toxin linked to one of our bio-chemical body reactions. One day it will all make sense.
Avatar n tn ) Trying to decide whether a run to Walmart around 4am would be the safest time of day (so I can buy a package of paper dust masks to wear in Walmart...) I fear flu. Quarantine yourselves when contagious, people!!! ...and you are still contagious in those first few days of starting to feel better again...contagious with talking, coughing, sneezing, blowing, touching!
996946 tn?1503249112 I have to take my dog Barney back to the Vet for a recheck in an hour. He's on Vetmedin, 5mg...Enalapril, 10mg...furosemide (lasix) 40 mg, and Diltiazem 40mg. His coughing has not improved. I'm wondering if he really needs the Vetmedin or the Diltiazem? I know his HR seems normal now but because of having heartworms a few yrs ago, he has the residual side effect of CHF. I just hate giving him so many meds and he's not getting better! Any quick suggestions?
Avatar m tn In 2002 my son was gouged by a very sick stray cat. The cat was lethargic, had a fever, nasal and eye discharge. I asked my son to pick the cat up as we were taking it to the vet. It was literally dying in our yard. The cat was about 6-months old. My son has been incredibly sick ever since. Are these symptoms too vague to suggest what this cat could have been suffering from and possibly transmitted to my son? We live in Southern Alberta...prairie-like area west of the Canadian Rockies.
Avatar n tn my sister is a smoker for like 3 - 4 years maybe like 2 a day lately shes been coughing everyday 2-3 time a day and just this past 3 days shes been spiting blood in the morning what can this be we are very worried is smoking the cause of this
