2178416 tn?1337613993 I prefer to be warm then cold as the cold makes me hurt....now humidity can get excessive and a bit much, but for the most part I never really was bothered by it....I do not get out all that much, so can not say right now if the recent weather would be a bother. @Viv-BTW I never sweat until my surgery either...I thought it was just me...lol..
Avatar f tn m on the Virginia coast and am so not excited for humidity. I hate summer as it is, mix it with pregnancy and humidity and.....blah.
1760800 tn?1406753451 According to the article it only take 1/2 of 1 degree centigrade in body temperature to set off things in our bodies. And either humidity or heat can cause this body temperature rise. Normally I can handle 75 degree weather but if the humidity gets very high I can't even handle that amount of heat. Lulu, Yes I find it harder to breath when it is very humid no matter what the temperature is.
Avatar f tn Last night I sat out on the deck at 11pm. I felt like I was in a swamp in Mississippi, no breeze, near 100%humidity and sweat was pouring out of me . yuck! Stay inside everyone.
Avatar n tn There are just symptoms that go along with COPD. Shortness of breath, fatigue, coughing, etc. And right now heat and humidity is hard on people with lung problems. I too live in Kentucky. And the heat and humidity right now are causing me problems with breathing, etc. I know that Mississippi is also hot and humid right now. If your father is working outside in the heat, then that will worsen his symptoms. But, having COPD myself, I can tell you, that there are good days and there are bad days.
Avatar f tn I grew up in Memphis and went to school in Alabama. The humidity there is unbelievable! So when it gets there, it's like an overheated sauna! Here in Texas it's business as usual. Hot summer but we've had much hotter. At least we don't have the humidity level they have in the deep South. But it's just another El Nino year. This is what happens. See: http://www.stormfax.com/elnino.
Avatar f tn The good news is not everyone is heat sensitive and I even know some people with MS who can sit in a hot tub for extended periods of time. The heat in our body can temporarily errode the signal in our damaged myelin, causing the conduction of the nerve signlals to be much slower. Fortunately once our temp cools, our symptoms for overheating will pretty much subside.
Avatar f tn I hope you all are enduring the wave safely. You may not be directly affected by it, but I am sure you know someone who is. Be sure to drink lots of water and stay out of the sun as much as possible. Temps here reached 108 today. At least it is a dry heat so it is less opressive that high humidity and HOT. What are the temps where you are and how are you coping? God bless.
Avatar m tn We are approaching summer and the Florida heat and humidity can be brutal. We are fortunate that most home have central A/C, as do our automobiles. Without it, lots of sweating. The heat doesn't bother me too much, but I don't work outside all day long.
Avatar f tn I live in NW Ohio and hate it when its hot like that (which we do get a lot of heat and humidity in the summer) Only in the last week or so has it finally cooled down to 40's at night and 68- low 70's for highs...not complaining about that at all...but i do like the winter too.
1911870 tn?1345419009 I'm in nc and it's 90's to 100 with the heat index staying in the 100's. I'm due august 5th. Really hoping to go in july though. I'm going to beg my dr for membrane sweep when I get to 37 weeks. This heat is killing me. I told me bf we're not having sex in the winter time from now on. Lol.
Avatar f tn I'm 10 weeks and where I live in Australia it's 40 degrees most days, today the heat is really getting to me! I feel drained and weak and I have a bad headache! Any ideas on how to help cope with this insane heat!
Avatar f tn I nw what u mean im in manchester n the humidity has been horrible too i cant wait for the winter :)
Avatar n tn And most of us r affected by the weather, but right now what he is feeling is from surgery, and it will lessen in time or should....so keep moving the neck and use heat b4 and after.....if it feels like it spasms, ask about valium but only when it is really bad and nothing else helps.
Avatar n tn When I wake up in the morning I am wheezing and coughing, then as soon as i get up i start sneezing constantly. after i am up for about 15 min everything goes away and am fine. is this a normal allergy symptom? why does it go away after i get up for a few minutes? is there anything i can take before bed that would help for the morning?
Avatar n tn I live in on the GA coast and was diagnosed this summer. Never had a problem with heat ever in my life till now. Now a high heat index brings on my symptoms and makes new ones appear. But also it is a lot hotter and more humid than most of the country.
428506 tn?1296557399 Where I live it has been in the 90's and high in humidity for the past few days. My apartment management will not make the AC available until 5/15, a seemingly pointless and cruel practice given we pay the utilities. I was able to get out a bit on Saturday, seeking shelter in public AC areas like the mall, but Sunday I was simply too exhausted and stayed home all day in the thick of it.
Avatar m tn As suggested above, EIB is more likely to occur when running in a dry, low humidity, climate and/or running when the surrounding air is cold. Some individuals benefit from the use of a cold weather mask for the latter. I recommend that you see either a board certified allergist or a pulmonologist, also called a lung specialist, for evaluation and treatment. Good luck.
996946 tn?1503249112 He still seems somewhat lethargic and yesterday he developed a limp, not wanting to walk on his front right leg. I know the heat and humidity is not helping. This may sound crazy but I was wondering if possibly he could have had a small stroke and that might cause the limp? Has anyone had any experience with dogs having strokes? We give Barney his 4 meds inside his treat which he devours and dearly loves.
Avatar m tn I typically cough first, find my breathing is labored, then eventually feel an almost crushing feeling in the chest. Exercising in heat (let alone humidity) causes me difficulty. Heat itself causes some difficulty after a while, even with lower humidity. Going into the water at the beach on a hot day is usually great. I originally thought I was having problems primarily due to pollens on hot days with winds from inland (I'm on the coast in Aus).
Avatar n tn Humidity and heat is hard on me as well, but cold is just as bad. Try to stay in air conditioning as much as possible when the humidity is up, but make sure she gets exercise. Walk and walk and walk somemore...
Avatar m tn I had more trouble with the heat later in treatment, but I still cut the grass, went to work, but the heat and high humidity certainly affected how I felt. I think the humidity affected how I felt more than the heat because it made it harder breathing. Sun can do bad things to skin when taking interferon, so it is important to cover up. I wore fishing shirts with 45 SPF in the fabric. It was light weight and cool.
Avatar f tn However, two days ago, I exercised and did yard work in high heat and humidity for about 4 hours. I flipped into atrial fib, and stayed there for about 30 hours. Could this episode be related to the heat/humidity? I'm losing weight, work w/a personal trainer two days a week, do water exercises 2-3 times a week, walk, bike ride, and generally stay active every day. Thanks in advance for your response.
11361691 tn?1433948582 I do not live there I'm here in Indiana where the heat and humidity have been killing us! We've been having rain for a week and a lot of towns/cities around me are flooded bad. But I have family in Camp Verde, AZ and I love when I get to visit them. Such a beautiful state!
7879163 tn?1411591644 I am due Nov 4 and as a ftm I am super excited and don't really care about the heat and humidity in MN. Good luck ladies. How are things going for all of you?
Avatar f tn I went through two summer pregnancies in FL...my daughter was born in the end of September, so I was heavily pregnant through every single hot month...AND my son was just born last month at 39wks, so I was pregnant through some really hot times. it wasn't that bad. granted I'm from FL so I'm used to the heat, but when I was pregnant with my daughter in 2008, our car a/c was broken and I had to drive 30 minutes each way to my OB appointments...
