Avatar f tn After 3 days of intense physical activity moving my elderly mother and clearing out her home I developed a headache and mid back pain. Bending over, coughing, sneezing, etc causes an explosion of pain in back of head that takes a few minutes to ease, leaving dull headache. Never experienced anything like it. Saw doctor who ordered CT scan which was normal including sinuses. However the next day my ears became full, light buzzing, amplified "in a barrel" sensation.
Avatar n tn This headache is generally relieved on standing (consistent with raised intracranial pressure). It is aggravated by straining, coughing or a change in position. This headache is accompanied by various neurological symptoms such as dizziness, numbness, loss of vision, loss of hearing etc, all of which are temporary. You can consult the neurologist regarding this. Hypothyroidism, hypoparathyroidism, adrenal insufficiency are a few things I would recommend your brother gets investigated for.

Avatar n tn Hello, Sometimes severe coughing can lead to vomiting. There are many causes of nausea. Stress, medications, reflux disease, gastritis, hepatitis, migraine; CNS causes are few conditions presenting wit nausea and headache. The presence of associated symptoms and clinical examination findings may be important for correct diagnosis and treatment. It is possible that GERD is causing acid and food to reflux back. You will need antacids and medications for your cough. Take light food.
Avatar f tn This is very common and is a result of your vagus nerve being stimulated by the coughing resulting in a sudden drop in blood pressure as it temporarily causes your heart to pump less efficiently causing less blood to go to your brain. The drop in BP causes your symptom of feeling faint, it is very common and completely normal.
Avatar f tn Is the nocturnal cough (possibly due to laryngitis) the cause of the fever? Mucus is collecting behind my vocal cords. It causes coughing at night. In the evening I use asthma medication, but I do not have asthma. Could cortisone inhalation (Alvesco) in the evening cause nocturnal fever several hours later? In the morning and daytime my temperature is normal (I had some fever over a week ago). I have atrial fibrillation and, when walking, I have dyspnea posssibly due to respiratory infection.

Avatar m tn I drank plenty of water after and tried to rest up. My headache came that night. By the morning it was far worse. And 24 hours after that it still has not shown any signs of letting up. Sitting up, standing up, moving around, getting in and out of the car, all these things make me feel as if my head is set to explode. The throbbing is really painful and intense. I've been taking aspirin, paracetamol, codeine and ibuprofen. Nothing seems to stop the pain.
Avatar f tn The headache is usually felt in morning and at night and is aggravated by straining, coughing or a change in position. The headache reduces with walking around. This headache is accompanied by various neurological symptoms such as dizziness, numbness, loss of sensation, loss of vision, blurring of vision and other visual problems, loss of hearing etc, all of which are temporary. The other possibility is high blood pressure. TMJ and dental pain could be the other causes.
Avatar f tn HI and welcome to the Gerd forum. It is possible to go thru what I call flares where the gerd is worse than at other times......U did not mention if u r on meds or if u were seen by a GI dr. U really should not self medicate and should have a dr oversee ur care....in the meantime u can take some OTC meds and watch ur diet. We have a section called Health Pages which has a list of foods to avoid and foods that r safe for people with gerd. U will have to see what is better for u ....
Avatar f tn Yes, ask for sure. I think it's probably round ligament stretching/pain. With my first it hurt like heck every time I sneezed. Thank goodness I haven't had as much pain with second pregnancy.
Avatar f tn If I'm coughing, then I can't feel my heart doing its thing. If I rock in a rocking chair, my heart will start dancing a bit. It just feels out of sync. If I'm sick, my heart will act up more. Maybe that's what's causing yours to misbehave.
Avatar n tn The other causes could be due to Bronchitis or Cystic fibrosis. You will need to consult your doctor who may need to do a sputum culture and sensitivity to determine what antibiotic the organism is susceptible to. He may even ask for repeat blood test and an X ray. Lung function tests could further help in evaluation. In the meantime try to take warm oral fluids and do steam inhalations prior to your meals. This helps to loosen up and bring out the secretions.
