coughing for too long

I am 13 years old! I have been sick for two weeks with a cold. Gross coughing sneezing and a runny nose. Sinus head aches and occasional stomach aches. This morning I was about to leave for school and I got diarrhea and puked once. I am a Virgin but haven't got my period for 2-3 months. What's wrong with me!!

My Girlfriend starts coughing uncontrollably if she is laughing for too long. She has had this as long as she can remember. Normally it's not much of a problem since normal laughing is fine, but when it gets to alot of laughing, that's when it's a problem for her. Any help on what might be happening and how she might be able to treat it would be greatly appreciated.

When you have bronchitis, can you get ALL the phlem out of your system? I'd hate to say how many cans of Fancy feast cat food I have filled & it is THICKER than molasses. I just want to stop coughing. I have now started blowing my nose getting stuff out. It wasn't like this over 2 months ago & I have a while until I go to my Dr. Can ANYONE HE----------------------LP ?

I posted on here awhile back about my dog, Barney, He'd gone through a bout of heartworms a few yrs back. Now he is having repercussions from it. He was put on VetMedin, Enalapril, Lassix and Diltiazem. My husband thought he seemed worse lately with coughing constantly, so he stopped the meds for a few days. Now Barney isn't coughing but seems a little unstable on his feet....he's 11 1/2 yrs old. Does anyone have any experience dealing with this?

Every time I throw up I start coughing a lot for a while and I keep having to clear my throat. Is that normal?

I have been getting over a cold for the last couple of weeks but it is in my lungs now. During the night, my throat gets so dry and backed up that I will wake up not being able to breath and constantly coughing/gagging. I am 31 weeks and I'm afraid it's hurting the baby coughing so bad. I usually sip water while it's happening and then take a Halls cough drop but it's been happening every night. Is it hurting my little one?

i suffered from a productive cough for at least 7 months, this is the 1st time i had a lung infection and my health is generally good. the cough developed while on holiday in australia. i was given several antibiotic courses which never totally resolved it. i was also never given a firm diagnosis. it began as an involuntary cough which produced thick sputum which varied between yellow and green, it progressed slowly and was not accompanied by fever.

When you had your coughing episodes, did you also have the light flashes with your detachment? If you did, how long did you have them? The reason I ask is, I too am in the process of a vitreous detachment. I've been to my opthamologist for 2 different checkups 4 weeks apart. The detachment is still not complete and I continue to have the flashes when I move my eye towards my nose. Traction on my retina. He said everything in my eye is fine and this just takes time.

Time to see the doctor. Waiting too long can lead to lung problems.

I have been coughing for about 7 years. I have been to 3 doctors and been on meds for post nasal drip, asthma. I had my thyroid out in Oct; because it was enlarged and closing up my trachia but that didn't help. Have had xrays and cat scans and everything looks good. It seems to coming from my throat area. sometimes i cough so hard that i almost pass out. I'm really at wits end. Any suggestions?

There are no other symptoms, no rash, no problem breathing yet, But coughing dry and gets really bad at night, also after coughing for too long during the night i get a bit of chest pain then it goes away. Cough medicines don't do a thing, i started taking sleeping medicines so i can sleep at night.

Only a handful of people here know that I've actually been sick since Monday. I've been sick with the weirdest thing I've ever been sick with.

Hi there Jill81, i was just wondering if you ever managed to get to the bottom of this - ive noticed in my 27 month old this evening something like which you have described its like a small curled (at the sides) tongue in the back of her throat i saw it whilst she was screaming (happily) its worrying me a bit as well as she has started to cough a little bit over the past couple of days nothing major just and not all the time but on and off coughing dryly.

i've been on tramadol for almost 10 years. i started taking it for legitimate reasons. i still do but sometimes i think im just feeding the addiction a lot of times. my doc said it wasn't addictive and it was safe. now i know diff. i take 4 to 6 when im at work. im on my feet for nine hours plus sometimes. the prob i have that causes so much pain cant be fixed with steroid injections. they can't be fixed. i go to a pain dr who put me on methadone a little over a yr ago.

i have no idea where it came from, it was an hours and hours long coughing fit. but it also comes with bad news! i pulled a muscle/ligament near the bottom of my rib cage. hurts terribley when i cough, but thank god its not often anymore.. and also, my fever has returned. its only around 101.5 but its lasted all day.ugh... cant quite catch a break yet.

I had been hospitalized for 3 years in a row all in the same month march, for shortness of breath. They thought it was asthma. The last time which was this year, they hospitalized me for a week. Which they ran lots of test and determined I have COPD. The symptoms I had were shortness of breath, tired, and coughing. Oxygen doesn't seem to help, medication wasn’t helping too (Spiriva and Advair plus nose sprays).
