634590 tn?1293774093 It can sometimes be difficult to tell the difference between vomiting blood and coughing up blood (from the lung) or a nosebleed. Conditions that cause vomiting blood can also cause blood in the stool. Causes The upper GI tract includes the stomach, mouth, throat, esophagus, and the first part of the small intestine. Blood that is vomited may come from any one of these places.
Avatar m tn We have taken meds and puffers nothing is working. I have been coughing then leads to vomiting either flem or froth, and gasping for a minute or so out load to replace hair in my lungs. It is the most horrible thing... 206807 tn?1331936184 I have done that too and, for me, it was several units of blood that came up. Vomiting blood in an HCV positive patient strongly suggests ruptured esophageal varices. I agree with Boobert - if he is vomiting blood he should undergo endoscopy and sooner rather than later.
Avatar f tn I have had this for a long time. It had gotten somewhat better but then it was really bad again. Through process of elimination I realized I started a blood pressure medication the generic for Zestril. I cut the dosage back and it got better then I stopped it and the coughing & vomiting stopped. It's not gone but I'm out of the terrible period. Are you on any medicines?

I know I should talk to someone professional about my eating disorder but at the same time im liking that I am finally loosing weight and want to be skinny.
Avatar f tn I was so thankful to come upon this issue while on google! I have always, well since I was about 16, seemed to spit up blood after vomiting. I was just wondering if anyone has the reason this occurs after the 3 years since this question was first asked? When I vomit I do strain alot and dry-heave. I do not actually throw the blood up but the blood always occurs after vomiting...while I spit. If anyone can tell me why this happens it would be so great.
Avatar n tn I would take her to her physician as soon as you are able, it is certainly not healthy for her to keep coughing and vomiting. The coughing will hurt her insides if it is too strong and vomiting will prevent her from getting her much needed nutrients from food, etc. I really am not able to tell you what it is, it could be a number of things, and, as I said, it would be best if she saw a doctor. Please let me know the outcome, I know she must be miserable.

Avatar n tn He was tested for whooping cough it was negative. He then began coughing fits that resulted in vomiting. We are now in the 6th week and he daily sometimes more then once is vomiting after a coughing fit or any physical activity like running around. The Dr. has him on singular once a day and albuteral 4X day. Has anyone experienced this before and do you know what is going on??
Avatar m tn s not terrible, but it is. (sorry if that makes no sense) How much blood was he vomiting up? And also, was the coughing severe or just every now and then. Depending on the case, he could have just made his throat very raw, which resulted in bleeding. This would also not be helped by the vomiting of stomach acid. However, he could also be coughing because of rising acid in his stomach.
1289093 tn?1309361078 For years my husband has been getting up in the morning and vomiting profusely but the only thing that comes up is clear, white or somtimes yellowish liquid. After he goes through that his stomach knots up and he feels drained, weak and just generallly bad. He has had a colonoscopy, upper GI, X-ray, CT scan and ultra sound. They did find he had H.Pylori when they did the upper GI and treated him for that.
Avatar f tn If he's throwing up blood and coughing it up, he HAS to get in. How old is he? There's a lot of different things it can be, but this could be potentially life threatening and has to be diagnosed. He could be refusing treatment because of a fear of finding out and knowing something serious could be wrong.
Avatar f tn She could have something called bilious vomiting syndrome. Even though it's called bilious vomiting syndrome, it's not an actual vomiting that brings up the foam, it's a gagging cough. This happens in some dogs when they first wake up, the stomach is empty from not eating all night and there is a buildup of acid. You can try an experiment to see if this is what it is - try feeding your dog a small snack late at night or, if you wake up during the night, give her a cookie or two.
Avatar f tn My cat was coughing and breathing heavy. I took her to the Vet and after they took X-Ray I was told she has to be under medication for two weeks. I started her on Clavamox 15 ML but after couple of days I noticed she vomits after each intake. I was told by the Vet to give her Metochlopramide 5 MG first and wait 20 minutes before giving her Clavamox. She is not eating food and I am giving her Garbor baby food (chicken and rice) along with Clavamox. I noticed she still vomits after each intake.

Avatar f tn If it both eyes at the same time it might be more likely to be related to trauma, severe coughing or vomiting, blood disorders that make the blood too thim, bleeding in the orbits, or blood way too think from warfarin or thinning medications.
